So my printer appears to be broken. I have to pay the fee prior to my interview which is done on the phone according to the letter I received. Will I have the option to email the receipt to myself? I know the logical thing to do is try it but I'm worried about paying the $240 then not being able to get a receipt and having to pay it again, so I'm hoping someone who has recently paid theirs has some information about the process.

They don't factor in your plans unless you tell them what they are.
Use the contact form. You aren't going to get anywhere trying to talk to a human.
Alright, I send another message though they have not replied to the first sent a week and a half ago as of yet. We'll see, I guess. Thanks again for the help, everyone.

I didn't know they actually paid attention to what we say as our wedding date! Our 'actual' wedding isn't until December, but I thought, given the timeline, that I'd end up getting my visa around September, so I planned to go over there as soon as possible and have the 'legal' marriage as quickly as we can.
I'm worried now!
Landon Ricketts, maybe wait another week or so (because I've read on here that it can be about 6 weeks before you hear about your interview date) and then think it's worth contacting them to ask what's going on.
Thanks, will do. If I don't hear by the end of next week I guess I'll try to call them the following Monday so I can maybe get a shot at explaining to a human (damn automated messages) that I wanted to be there to plan and be involved as well as not miss her birthday. I guess it was my mistake for assuming they'd factor in plans and stuff, get past that whole initial reunited-after-a-year feeling and get settled before the wedding, as opposed to hop off the plain and into a suit.

Thanks, that's reassuring. I was just hoping to make it out there some time in September so I had time to help out with the wedding plans and not just jump right into the wedding.

That's unfortunate. I thought they'd take into account wedding planning and stuff. I hoped to be there and help out with those things, things like wedding bands can take time from what I recall of my brother's wedding.
I don't suppose there's anything I can do about it now that I've said November?
I wanted to be ready to leave around September so we'd have plenty of time to get things done, be there for her Birthday on 1st October, wrap things up then have our wedding, but I figured if I wrote that in my letter they'd think I was being greedy.

Thanks.. No input?

So I had my medical in Knightsbridge on 12th July, I hadn't heard back from them or the Embassy which I took to be a good thing, so I sent off my DS-2001 and covering letter but it has been a month now with nothing happening. I didn't think I had to pay the Visa fee right away so I was waiting until my appointment came through.
I read on the Embassy's site that there were changes recently and it refers me to usvisa-info.com which I registered with, but I'm not finding anything helpful on there. Trying to add myself as a new applicant prompts me to fill out some details, one of which asks for ds160 number. I don't know what that is. K1 is also not present on the Visa class dropdown.
I'm just a bit anxious because it's been a while and nothing has happened, my fiancée and I were hoping to marry in November which I wrote in my covering letter, and I'm seeing through people's timelines that people who had medicals weeks after mine already have appointment dates for their visa so I'm wondering if there is something else I am supposed to do that I've not already done or if it's just bad luck.

It's pretty much the first question (or one of the first) on the FAQs. You can't have it done by anyone else. I recently tried to see if I could get an exception made to avoid a 5 hour car journey but they just said it wasn't possible, so I also have to go to London twice. Well, once more now. I had my medical last Friday so I have to go back for the interview, once I receive my date.

I just want to double check that the priority date will be safe. Mine expires on the 21st, I had a huge delay trying to get a birth certificate with both parents' names on it and had to get myself registered into my parents' marriage that ended 24 years ago. I sent off all the forms except the DS-2001 as I have not yet had my medical, so they do have all the other forms but that date is approaching lightning fast.
I got my fiancée to send a letter of intent to marry me in the alotted time after I fly to USA so I'm wondering if I should scan a copy and write a note about why I've not yet had my medical, or if there really is nothing to worry about.

I just emailed the Embassy about this (I was given a code and email address to contact over the phone) because my parents offered to drive me there since we live 6 hours north of London, it's an inconvenience to have to go twice. I'm yet to receive a response; does this mean it's safe to assume the answer will be no?
The lady I spoke to on the phone did make me aware that if that happened, it'd take a bit longer to get the visa because they'd still need to wait for the results which was fine with me, I'd rather wait a bit longer than have to go twice.
Just crapping my pants because my priority date is approaching at the end of this month, had a dire set back with birth certificates.
Quick question about payment.

My problem was because the registration process was interrupted after selecting a courier, and for the life in me I could not find a way to get back to that page. In the end I had to just register a new account with a new email address, then I was able to continue from the courier selection including paying the fee and printing off the page. I don't like that site of theirs. :\
