Yeah i feel like our Family Code is kind of the same with other countries ,if the child is minor the mother has the right etc... I dont know why they were asking for adoption papers as well, i guess different agent/officer handling the papers different responses. I was filling out the ds 5525 i felt like this form is not for my situation, i think i will still do the form and I'll see what they are going to say.

Processing my children's passport, I process my passport together with them. I rceeived my passport after a week. My children are frm Philippines, we received a notice that they are asking for adoption decree, father's consent, together with the GC that i didnt send ( just a photocopy) but i got that covered. My only concern is the consent from the biological father which was out of the picture. He never sign the birth certificate, so i was really worried about what papers should I submit/produce to proof that I am the only one raising the children since they were born. Helps please.

hi i do have the same problem, my kids needs passport, i saw the form for the spa but do i need to get them asc, because im goin home to pick them up, so do i really need that?

get your SSN as soon as you can, i did it on my 2nd day here on US ( as per k1 timeline)... and after you get married, go to the nearest USCIS and inform them you just got married, and they will change your name in the system, after 48-72 hrs you can go back to SSA to have your name change... that's what i did...

just don't forget to schedule your free info pass on USCIS website before you go to USCIS local office, because SSA wont be able to change your name if you haven't inform USCIS about your marriage.(bring proof of marriage)

Thanks... I was a lil worried cuz i asked the american consul if im approved he said i am and wishing all the best...and the other applicant was told the case is under admin processing, she wasnt told if she pass or not thats why i was worrying too... And once again thanks:)

Hello! Actually you don't really need to wait for the notice from the embassy. The moment you get your MNL case number, you are already eligible to set an interview appointment at the embassy. Don't be depressed, dear. You're good to go. SMILE!

I've called us embassy and they adviced me to wait for the notice before i can set an appointment... I really wanna pay it so i can set an interview and medical ... Im so confuse... And i called SLEC they need the letter of appointment before they can proceed for the medical.

As long as you have your MNL case number already, you can pay your visa fee and be able to schedule an interview appointment after that.

I've notice that we have the same timeline... Have u set up an interview without the packet?!

Hi ...have u received a notice from the embassy that u are eligible to set an appointment??? Im just getting deppresed.... Im still waiting for the notice it's almost 2weeks now...

I think the senator of the state can help you to follow up the cases that's what he did with our noa2 and the nvc case number... I really dont know if thats coincidence but everytime he write his senator after a day or two something good happened.

And i just got my case number at nvc too wow... Lucky day for us
