If you already have your interview appointment, when do you usually see a change in your status at the CEAC site?
Say, CC-July 23 and received our P4 emails on July 30 and interview will be on Sept 4.
From July 22 upto now- everytime I log in at https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx, I always received this message, 'Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time.' Same with my child's case.
July 30 upto now, the status of our cases (child and I), still, 'AT NVC'.
I thought that once you already have your interview schedule, NVC will immediately ship your casefile to the designated Consulate.
I am just wondering if this is still normal or I should be calling NVC?
It should say "Ready" when the file reaches Embassy. It looks like your file has not been sent to embassy yet.

You should be fine, as long as
- Certified copy was issued by the same authority who issued the original marriage certificate.
- Submitted this certified copy to the NVC (NVC forwards the documents to embassy, and your IL should clearly mention whether it was forwarded or not).
See DOS requirements at:
-
Visa approved on Tuesday
Flying to NYC tomorrow...
Congrats!
-
So what I attached will be accepted when they ask for originals?
Looking at the attachment you should be just fine. This is what DOS website says
"Original Document Requirements
You and each family member immigrating with you to the United States must submit to the NVC original documents issued by an appropriate authority, or certified copies of those documents listed in this section."

until yesterday when i check my visa status on web, it shows administrative processing but today morning its shows ISSUED. i call embassy, one officer said that come on thursday 1 pm and pickup your visa packet. wow, wow, wow. thanx god. thanx everyone who giving me right direction.
Congrats Prasila! What a relief after all. Happy for you.
-
Thanks.
Hmm! there will be pre-interview as well?
I don't think I will have pay stubs by that time but I can get EL. So, any possibilities to fall into Administrative Review?
Pre-interview in a sense, someone interviews for missing documents and prepares for final review (most likely another embassy staff) bunch of questions and takes the documents that were supposed to be submitted or per the IL etc..etc
For the sole reason you mentioned change of address & new job, it should not go to AP.
At least get the EL ready, I think it is a good idea to take during the interview.

Demra, No need to resubmit DS-230 but you can advise your spouse to mention that your address has changed during the interview. (Also, make sure to inform IO at POE about address change).
As for I-864, I would advise you to send the updated I-864 along with employment letter and paystubs. At the very least, send the employment letter to interview and your wife can hand the documents during pre-interview at the consulate.

hi all,
finally i got joint sponsor for my f2a visa. but i m in little confused so if some vj can make me clear, plz.
1:- my sponsor and his spouse jointly filling tax return. so i need to fillup two i-864 form or only one person is okey ?
- some are advise me that one person husband or wife whoever should fill the i-864. no need both of them. correct ?
2:- sponsor's family total 6 member with me total 7 and on the 2012 jointly tax return they have $60,000. this amount is enough for the seven house hold according to us poverty guide. but my confuse is if consular officer make separate the income. thats not enough by one person income so i need to fillup i-864a form spouse too ?
3:- for the indicate individual income (becoz tax return is joint) w-2 form is proved that ? how can i show their separate income to consular ?
4:- my case in running under administrative processing becoz to required joint sponsor. and they asked me to submit sponsor affidavit and tax return 2012. with affidavit form what others papers i need to submit ? this time i should be aware becoz if they required again more papers its takes again long time to approve my visa. thank you all in advanced.
1. I-864 signed by main cosponsor,
I-864a signed by cosponsor's spouse.
2. Per poverty guidelines, 60k seems to meet the requirement for 7 household members.
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf
3. You can write that in section 6, there is a part for your main cosponsor and household members (including spouse). Just ensure to include employment letters and recent paystubs of both.
4. Tax return transcript, current employment letters,recent paystubs, I-864 & I-864a.
Hope this helps.

Bro if your spouse applying for you she should have annually income more than $21000.Otherwise you should have find joint sponsor who have income more than his poverty level.
what you need from joint sponsor : A) copy of green card or naturalization B) joint sponsor's latest tax return recent 3 years( ie 2010,2011,2012)and fill up affidavit form i-864.C)copy of social security card
D)copy of most recent 3 paycheck E)proof of address
why i know, i am applying for my wife and NVC they ask all these document and when i submitted all doc after that they schedule interview for my wife on September 3rd.
hope fully u will find all doc.
Creative baral, your timeline says "
I have to submit DNA before interview. Why does a CR-1 need to submit DNA? Just curious.

Prasila,
Talk to your spouse, who is in the US and find a joint sponsor. Make sure the joint sponsor has enough income to cover you based on this poverty guidelines.

actually we both share a same address. So i appointed him s my household member. And i call him brother so i did this. Now i am afraid they asked me evidence. What happens if my brother in law sent them i-864 form again( as he sent i-864a already). plz help me... am in really need of help .plz plz..
Call NVC and speak to supervisor to get clarification on what is needed. Here is what I think
So, he is your household member in your taxes as well? If he is NOT you can do the following.
- Send an updated I-864 with correct information, i.e. brother-in-law instead of brother.
- Include a copy of his licence, your spouse's birth certificate and your brother-in-law's birth certificate.
- Include a copy of your marriage certificate.
- Include a short statement saying in the previously submitted I-864 form had an error in XXX section and is corrected in new I-864 form.
- Include the checklist NVC sent.
If he is your household member in your taxes, looks like you used correct form I-864a but now
- Send an updated I-864a with correct information, i.e. brother-in-law instead of brother.
- Include a copy of his licence, your spouse's birth certificate and your brother-in-law's birth certificate.
- Include a copy of your marriage certificate.
- Include a short statement saying in the previously submitted I-864a form had an error in XXX section and is corrected in new I-864a form.
- Include the checklist NVC sent.

Thank you very much for sharing the interview experience. I am surprised they did not ask you UAE police clearance at the NVC stage. But looks like its not required.
Give them week or two, here is one in VJ, who had AP in Kathmandu, but was cleared within two weeks.

Hello everyone. First of all, my wife received her CR1 visa yesterday. She wants to change her Last name to mine. Our marriage license has her unmarried name as well as her social security card, regular and foreign passports as well as her CR1. Last year, were told at the Social Security office that she needed to wait until she applies for her green card because she had nothing that reflects her married name. We are to pay for the green card before she returns. Has the information already completed or is her name to be changed when the 165.00 is paid? Did we miss something or is it too late?
We need some help here!
You should wait until removal of conditions I-751, you can apply using married last name. You will be all good at that time.

i submitted on nvc but almost one year ago 2011 tax returns. so they required for the latest one but they didn't mention any thing on the IL. if they mention i can prepare before my interview appointment date. i ask embassy before my interview that time also they didnt tell anything about that. but no matter, i submit already and waiting for the next call by embassy.
Just give them few days to review your papers. You will be fine. IL says to bring the most recent tax document for interview ( I am not sure if F2A's interview letter is different than CR1).
Do you mind sharing your interview experience other than that? What questions were asked? What proof of relationship did you take? etc
-
Do they really update your case status on their website..???
As I every time I log in they show same message at NVC.....
Thanks in advance...
It gets updated when your interview is assigned and the file leaves for embassy :-).

Thank you, i noted down. Good luck to you too. Hope you will hear a good news soon.
No problem. Thanks n Keep us posted ..............:-)

DWheels, looking at the amount of effort you put into this forum, it is very valuable for people. But I do not know how much of manual editing you are doing, but using a spreadsheet like Saylin's case complete in google spreasheet could make your life much easier, where you can sort by country and averages and all the fun stuff...just a thought...

Saylin Im reading the post of micky2008 regarding supervisory review. Right now im waiting for my case to be completed. They just waiting for the Singapore Police Clearance to be review. they recieved the package June 27, and until now not yet been reviewed. Is that a valid reason to ask for supervisor reviewed. I was been delayed since January when NVC did not recieved my approval notice from uscis. and getting delayed from checklist. as the operator everything is already ok. except they waiting for a that police Clearance. Thank you
Like Saylin said, request an expedite. Police clearance should be fairly straightforward and should not be taking this long, if you included the checklisted barcode.
Again, there is nothing to lose by requesting expedite, they can either approve or deny.

Hello everyone,
I just called Nvc, we found out the day of interview on August 23.

Thanks,
The
Like dwheels said email embassy once your file gets there. You can track it here "Visa status check" https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/
Even better, send them a doctor's note requesting for an earlier date.

TopOfTheWorld I agree with those comments you made earlier today. This whole process doesn't make any sense to me at all. From the very beginning until now. I am at a lost of word on how they determine what's get done first, what is their priorities and what is more important as far as visa. It's clearly not a first come first served basis. It's all random its's ridiculous. They need to change the system. If it's broke change it. If it's not then don't change it. Most will agree that it need changes. One voice or one little step can make a big difference.
You are absolutely right, this system and the entire process of NVC needs to be changed. I actually wrote a letter to senator saying this is unacceptable that NVC takes such a long time to review files and their system is outdated. NVC in chaos for weeks due to new AOS, which simply changed formatting of I-864 by USCIS, delayed most people by over a month which should not be case to serve the citizens.
Anyways, Looking at your timeline, I would urge you to:
- Contact your embassy and find out why there is a delay to get an interview date (despite being a good citizen, paying taxes and it is imperative that agencies that run in taxes paid by citzens, serve their citizens, being with one's IR is one's human right, dont you think?).
- Involve your local congressman or senator to find out why there is a delay to get IV interview dates. Looking at your embassy wait time for Non-IV is 10 days and student visas is just 2 days.
But again, choice is yours, if you have not done above two things, I would do it, because three and half months to wait for interview is long time and I think I would go insane just waiting for it....
You have been waiting since long, longer than most of us here and I understand what you must be feeling. First they did not clarify about AOS. Many sent new one and that delayed the whole process. I see others are getting RFE's which does not make sense at all. 2 cases with same error on AOS, 1 gets RFE and other is approved with no RFE. Some are asked to bring AOS to interview and some are asked to send it to NVC. There should be some kind of process in place where everyone is treated equally. There should be transparent and easy to understand process. Total anarchy and undemocratic nature of NVC.
Agreed.
Silly question for DS 230 and AOS
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures

1.) I would suggest to print page 1 in A4 and and have it mailed it to you, just to be consistent.
2.) I would not worry much about it. If IRS says they use 1st five letters of last name, you should be fine. It is what it is. If you want you can attach a statement to justify the discrepancy, but I do not think it is necessary.
Hope this helps.
