  1. Hello,

i havent been able to make/request the payment for the Immigrant Visa Fee at the USCIS ELIS web page...i have my account, and i am able to log in.. but after i write my information this is the message i received

    • ERROR:The A-Number or DOS Case ID you entered is incorrect. Please enter the A-Number and DOS Case ID listed on the USCIS Immigrant Fee handout you received from the U.S. Embassy or consulate.
    • ERROR:NOTE: If your visa was issued less than five (5) days ago, you may not be able to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee at this time. Based on the date you entered, we recommend that you log into your USCIS ELIS account on or after April, 04, 2015 to pay the fee.

is anyone else experiencing the same problem?.. Its been more than 12 days since my visa was issued...and my A# have only 8 numerical digits i already wrote the one with the 0 added before de numbers and after the A to complete it..

  2. Good luck submitting the documents @sf786! Everything will be okay, you will finish this process soon!

My visa status has been updated every day since the interview, it was on "ready", then it changed to "AP". CO said 4 business days for the visa to be issued, but I'm still waiting...
Has anyone gotten their passport/visa yet?

mine was on AP the day after the IV, and that same day changed to ISSUED... i went to the IV on tuesday..by friday i picked up my passport and documents... only 3 days..

  3. hello everyvody!..

@san83 Thnak you!.. best day of the year right :P

just wanted to let you know guys that its been 3 days since my IV and yesterday night i received an email from USa travel docs:

Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate

that was really fast... im very surprised.. just waiting for the Mail box location to confirm that i can pick up my passport and documents...

  4. i don´t think you should be worry about anything, just wait till the day its written on the card they gave you..clearly it states that you will receive you Immigrant visa Packet.

AP doesnt always mean there´s something wrong or something is still missing. If you didnt get a 221g form (for some missing paper, or some further review) then probably your case was completed and approved which i think its a good thing.

My IV was on a tuesday, and on wednesday my status in CEAC said AP...and a few hours later changed to Issued..

  5. the CO told me the visa is approved yesterday, i checked today ceac status and it said Administrative Processing (if the Co didnt ask you to bring any other document, or told you that they needed to verify something..this basically means the visa is being process in some department..right before its issued), after a few hours..my status changed to Issued

  6. spent less than 2h, first we were pre-screened

i gave them my passport, IV letter, police certificate..they went to get my record and they gave me back some of the papers that we sent to NVC

told us to seat and wait for our number to be called again..

less than 30min we were called and CO sworn us,

    he only asked us:
    How did we meet?

    How long did we dated?

When did my husband went to live to the U.S. (after he finished college here in my country)?

How we decided to get married?

    if we have kids?...

What do i do for work here in my country?

And thats it.. No photos, no tax reports, no letters...none of those proof of relationship that we prepare

    Visa approved
We spoke in english with the CO, very nice and easy going person

  7. if you get the Immigrant visa, on it there will be an annotation stating that this visa is ONLY valid if you're accompanied by the father/mother or spouse (which means she will travel with you and enter the US)..or follow to join (which means you will have to enter the US after your petitioner did) ...due to the type of visa you're requesting.. the F2A (spouse or children of permanent resident)

You'll have to be ready to answer. if they asked, when was the last time your petitioner entered the US and why is she spending so much time back in her country..

  8. i found this one on another thread, and was the one i used in my case:

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am Mr/Mrs.________________ , __BENEFICIARY NAME__´s husband/wife and petitioning sponsor. I did not file an income tax return for the years 20xx, 20xx or 20xx because I have not worked during my student years in _____________ (describe college, and career).I was maintained by__________________ upon his/her income and savings. Since I made no income for these years of any type, I was not required to file an income tax return with the Internal Revenue Service.

    Sincerely, Mr/Mrs________________.

  9. if your wife hast worked for the past 5 years, there´s no way she can file taxes..so you wont get any transcprits..

she will have to fill out a for i864 completely with 0 income... and attached a written explanation of why she didn´t have to file taxes during those years cause she wasnt working and why, and look for the support information on the IRS page of who do needs to file and who doesnt need to file taxes..and get a copy of that..

  10. you can complete the DS-261, you will be the Agent of CHoice providing your address and contact information.

Every letter (email) that you receive from the NVC will also be received by the beneficiary and whoever else they have registered as part of the case.

Financial documents correspond to the petitioner (documents that prove your income and if you;re able to support the person you're petitioning for.., if you can't reach the Poverty Guidelines, you have to get a Joint Sponsor)

The supporting documents, are the civil (BC, police certificate, marriage certificate, etc..) that support all of the information that the beneficiary will fill in the from DS-260..

Those documents can be sent from wherever, as long as they get securely to the NVC..
