Turned out they Sent an RFE May 26th on our new address and we never got it. It was stated "Undeliverable" so we never got it. But we called May 27th and they said no update yet and told us to call back 15 days later, so we did call back June 13th and they said that the process is really taking long for them and that they are behind with the processing times, they never mentioned to us that they sent an RFE, they even told us that "that is why we give 1 year extension because it make take that long, so the best thing to do is just wait" So when I called again this last Sept 28th. that's when they said I was denied, and they never told me any reason (they didn't mention that there was RFE sent) I just found out when the letter arrived yesterday. We already scheduled and infopass and we are going today to see if they can let us in today even though our schedule is on Oct 14th. They couldn't help us today bec the appointments are full but they did scheduled us for an earlier appointment for Tue next week, and they said it could be fixable and not to worry too much

I was thinking. You sent your papers to California. In California most applicants got approved in May. So let's assume you received a RFE in May then you'd have had time till August to reply. You said that you got denied in August and you said that you moved. I can imagine that they sent the RFE to your old address and got denied because they never received a RFE response from you.

My ROC case was received last year Nov 2, 2015. It has been a long wait for me and my husband, today I called USCIS because it's almost 11months process, they told me that according to the computer I got DENIED last month (August) which I didn't know bec I check my status online everyday and it still says
"On November 2, 2015, we received your Form CRI-89 bla bla bla"
We didn't receive any RFE, or anything.
I asked her question why I got denied? what should I do next? But she seems to not know anything.
Anybody here know what should I do?
-
So, I called today and they told me that it says in the system that I was denied last month (August) I said I didnt receive any letter that I got denied and explaining why I was denied. My online status is still "We receive your case Nov 2, 2015 bla bla bla bla" No RFE, no nothing. I asked her questions about why I got denied, or what should be my next step now but she seems like she doesn't know anything. I cant count how many times she said she dont know or its not on the computer. I asked to be transferred to a higher department that would have access to my case but she said no one is available and they will probably just give me a call back tomorrow. Great! So that's my afternoon, how is everyone doing?
Any idea what should we do next? Should I get a lawyer or should I try to schedule an appointment in a Service Center?
I feel so frustrated, help me please!

Yndy:
Your address change resulted in a change of service center in the middle of your application process. If you have officially received a notice or otherwise got confirmation from uscis that your case has been transferred to Vermont, then technically you are a "Vermont filer" as Vermont now has jurisdiction over your case.
This is not meant to alarm you (just information) , sometimes when an applicant's home address change resulted in a change of service center jurisdication while their application is pending, an RFE may be issued. One of the rationales behind this is to counter those who "service center shop" , hopping from the original service center to another because they hear one service center now has a lower RFE rate than the other or something to that affect. I don't have any up to date statistics but a couple years ago uscis concluded the rate of marriage fraud applications they receive were around 32-35% of the totally applications, so naturally uscis are more cautious. That is not you I am sure, so please don't panic, if you do get an RFE just respond right away.
If you haven't already done so, call the 1800 customer service line and explain why you need to be transferred to a tier 2 officer. Tier 1 will not refuse you (though they may not be thrilled), so don't worry. Tier 2 are busy , any calls not filtered out by tier 1 lands in tier 2's laps. You will likely be asked to enter/confirm a call back number and be given an estimated call back time. Needless to say, you want to call first thing in the morning as soon as they open so you don't end up in the back of a long queue.
When you have Tier 2 on the line, they may give you general response like "your case is still pending and you just have to wait"... Do not simply hang up and accept this answer. Press the tier 2 officer to tell you more -- at the very least they have in front of their computer monitor, information about when your case file was last "touched" by the case officer. Ask tier 2 whether an RFE has been sent (because RFE generally don't show up on online case status system, and since you have moved it might be the case an RFE or some other corresponse was sent to your old address that you weren't aware of) tell them you just wanted to make sure you didn't miss anything by accident and that Vermont isn't waiting on you to provide some documents that you didn't know about. Also, ask the tier 2 officer to confirm the address they have on their screen is actually your new address (sometimes that information you have sent in previously is not updated in or didn't get forwarded to their system)
Your timeline shows your application filing date was 10/29/2015. You are close. Vermont is currently processing October cases.
Thanks for the explanation, I will def give them a call. As of my change of address, I only moved within the state which is CA, so I dont think that they moved my case to Vermont.

I am a CSC filer and still hasn't heard anything
Hang in there people!
-
Congrats to those who got approved.
Question: Since its already September,
1. does any here plan on applying for Naturalization next month?
2. Can I apply even though I still haven't heard anything for my ROC? (when I get eligible to apply which is Oct 28th next month)
-
Im in the same situation, however, im a early CSC december filer, I also had to move after i submitted my application because my landlord sold the house that we were living in . i called a couple of times and i was told to wait. I wonder if moving is the reason why its taking so freaking long. you might be able to apply for naturalization at this point, that way they will have to review your case.
I think not until October for me bec my gc will expire January 2017, I cant think of anything else that would cause the delay, my friend that filed early January has already heard from uscis for RFE. It must be the moving, hang in there maybe yours will come soon
-
I filed late October last year and still has not heard anything. I am a CSC filer, I moved during the process so I dont know if that is what's causing the delay but I already tried calling twice and the last time we spoke with an officer and I still couldn't get any straight answer they said they are behind the processing times and that was a month ago when I called. I dont know if it's a good idea to keep calling, I frequently check my case status to see if there's an update but for now I am working and hopefully something will change soon and I will get approve
-
OMG I just got a text and email it's being produced!!! OH MY GOD.
Congrats!!!!
:joy:

Haven't heard anything for mine.
It's really frustrating
-
Ok I called about my case because it is outside the processing times and they confirmed that it is true, however their systems are down and can't help me today. So I have to call tomorrow. This is so frustrating, I really think they lost my application!!
Let me know how it goes.. the frustration is making me crazy already
-
Crazy! I am one of the first! Did they loose it ?
7 more to go
Where is our approval?
-
8 more applicants waiting to be approve for CSC
-
Congrats to newly approved
.. It's getting more frustrating for us who is still waiting
-
Should I call uscis? Did they loose my application? I'm ruminating!
Arinlars, we are in the same boat! Anxiously awaiting a reply and trying not to get worried! All the best to you and congratulations to everyone else - so very happy for you all!!!
Also I need to correct our NOA date, on the USCIS website it says received 10/9/15, not sure where I got the 10/17. Thank you!!!
Next week could be us. Hopefully.

I feel you girl, I'm in the same shoes, I developed depression here in US never had this before. I would just cry because I feel alone a lot of times, try to make friends, it really helps, maybe they can pick you up to go somewhere (park, malls, etc) Once you got your ssn and license then you can start working and be busy and you wont feel as lonely anymore. Also you can volunteer as other people suggest (never done it myself)
-
You might wanna check. 1.Jobs 2.Housing 3.Weather. Do research or much more go there in person to check. If you move to a different state w/o a job yet make sure you have a savings or else money will go away very quickly. Or find a job first before moving. (probably a smarter choice)

It's fine.. shouldn't cause any problem at all

I am in the same boat.. I worked for a while, I have a separate bank account (wells fargo) Just this year, my husband and I is trying to establish a credit for myself, so I went ahead to apply for a secured card in Wells Fargo and I got denied, I got a letter stating that I don't have any credit history. I just wondered where my deductions go then, also they(credit union) wanted me to provide two ID with the same address only problem is I'm in the process of my ROC and all my ID's are expired. Frustrating
-
Congrats to all people who got approved !
Meanwhile I'm getting so depressed.. I filled October 1st , where is my approval ? I'm getting stressed and scared.....
did something happened? Did they loose my application? Arghhh!
I feel you

Hi everyone. We just moved here in San Jose, CA. There is lots of Filipino here. But I am just wondering if any of you from here?
Moved while N-400 pending then got scheduled for interview

Help me, need some advice:
While my N400 was pending I relocated from CA to TX. The fingerprinting was already done at the old address. After moving I submitted an address change form with the USCIS and received a confirmation from them. Now, I received an interview letter asking me to come to CA office for the interview.
What should I do?
#1. Fly to San Jose, CA to get an interview as scheduled.
#2. Contact USCIS right away, and notify my move for interview rescheduling in Texas State.
My concerns are, it will delay my case if I reschedule it and If I just fly back to San Jose and do interview there, do I have to fly back again for the oath ceremony?
