  1. Just got my waybill number ^.^

Not ready for pickup yet, and it still lists the old pickup location that's closed down as my pick up location, so I'm not too sure what to make of that. But, at least it's shipped now :D woohoo

Hey!!! Congrats!!! I got mine too haha. Just checked the loomis website and csc visa website. Phewww!!! What a relief :). I can finally go with my hubby. Can't wait!!!

  2. Sure thing smile.png

We might have seen each other. What number did you have?

My loomis branch is at Lachine (montreal). I don't have my waybill number yet, but on friday, on the CEAC website, my status went from AP to Issued. Yay! biggrin.png So I'm expecting the waybill email maybe on monday or tuesday.

Oh that's great! I don't know if my status was ever AP on CEAC website, because I started checking my status on CEAC website on Friday and it says Issued. So hopefully we hear something soon. It's my first wedding anniversary today and I am expecting my hubby to show up any time now... Can't wait to see him and hopefully I get to go with him this Wednesday :).

  3. I think you'll get a waybill number added in there, once it's shipped.

Hey! We had interviews on the same day. I wonder if I saw you there lol. I don't think they have shipped out the passports yet, as no waybill number is updated on CSC Canada website. Do you mind telling me your pick up location, so we can know if they take longer for one location than the other? Could you please also keep us posted if you receive any e-mail or waybill # gets updated? I would really appreciate! Thanks!

  4. Congratulations!!!

How was the interview? and what kinds of questions they asked you? can you please give details about the whole process please,, were they easy or strict?...

    You help will be appreciated.

    thanks.

    Hi!

They were really nice. I had a great experience with the lady who interviewed me. She was very nice and friendly, and welcomed me with a smile. I imagined the people who work at the consulate to be wearing an officer type uniform, but I was surprised to see that the people who interview actually wear casual clothes. This really helped with lowering my anxiety.

Make sure you take all the paper work with you. If there is anything missing, no matter how friendly they are, they will ask you to exit the building and bring what's missing. So check your papers like 20 times before going (I did that). The lady who checked my paperwork went to me like "where is your original birth certificate?". I went like this is the original translation (but actually it was a photocopy of translation, and that was a heart attack moment because I thought she would now tell me to go have it translated). Then she said "where is the original birth certificate this was translated from". I began to shake and I got a flashback I had kept it in my folder. Then I knew I had given it to her. Then I told her "I gave it to you with all the other documents". She went over the pile and showed me my birth certificate and said "is this it?". I sighed with relief and said "yes, it is it". And that got me very very very nervous and going into the interview too I was shaking. When they gave me those paragraphs to swear, I was literally shaking and I don't think I have ever been this nervous before because this was going to determine my life. I stayed away from my hubby for so long and living away for longer just made me go crazy. But the lady who interviewed me was very nice and made jokes to calm me down. Overall, I had a very positive experience.

The questions: They asked more than I expected, but I guess because I was nervous, she was really trying to calm me down by asking questions. She asked how I met him, when I met him, how many siblings he has, what kind of a wedding you had, education level, where your dad worked when you lived in the middle east (I lived in the middle east in my childhood, hence that question); what you and your husband have in common, what I did for living (when I said I was a Registered Nurse, it brought a big smile to her face and she asked me how I liked being a nurse); any problems at the border (yes, I was intending to move without knowing I can't move with my hubby being a Canadian citizen after wedding here in Canada); did I live in any other country since the age of 18. I think she was asking most of the questions from my DS-260; then she asked about any criminal records (I went like nooo with wide open eyes, and she laughed and said, "everytime I ask people this question, they all widely open their eyes and say no, but we are asked to ask this question" , and I said "it's understandable", and we both laughed). She also asked what my hubby did for living. I really can't think of anything. But nothing major. Very pleasant experience.

One thing I would change is my nervousness, I didn't need to be nervous. And I would suggest you the same thing. Don't be nervous, this is not supposed to be scary. You will remember this experience forever and you in fact should be excited that the day has arrived when you will receive your visa. So go there with a smile on your face and come back with a smile!! Good luck!!

  5. I had mine 2 days later. Interview Wednesday. Visas in hand Friday. Markham as well. I got emails saying that the packages were not ready for pickup on the day they were waiting at the Loomis location. It is considered unable to be delivered because they are instructed to hold at the location for pickup. You can arrange (for a fee) to have it delivered to you home) but I just sent my dad with whatever docs they wanted when I called them by phone to confirm they are there, and he picked them up for us.

    It looked like this:

    Dear FIRST LAST,

Your passport has been picked up from the Consular Section and within the next few days you will be able to pick it up at:

    LOOMIS Markham HOLD FOR PICKUP

    95 MICRO COURT

    MARKHAM, ON

    L3R5N1

    Your Waybill Number is ERECR#########.

Please click the link below to track your passport until it is ready for pickup:

    www.blahblah.blah

You can take advantage of having your documents delivered to an address in Canada for an additional cost. If you are interested, go here to learn how:

This was really helpful. Thanks! However, I am still waiting on their e-mail. No sign of my passport location yet. I will keep everyone posted on when I get it. Thanks again for sharing this :)!!!

  6. It was the easiest interview of my life I thought. I was so nervous and the lady who interviewed me was very friendly and could see how nervous I was. She tried making jokes and all to make me feel comfortable. Very nice people sit there to interview. However, I didn't like the lady who checks the paperwork; she was an idiot. She put wrong number on my file and also asked for birth certificate, which I had already given her. Then she went like, is this it? I said "yes", but in my head I went like "hell yea, you moron!!". But yea, those people who interview are veryyyyyy friendly. So don't be afraid of anything. This interview is only a formality to see whether you are a real person who was on the file. Take all your paperwork and you will be just fine!

  7. Hello everyone,

After all this wait, I finally passed my interview at the consulate in Montreal. My interview was September 11th, 2013 (Wednesday). It's my wedding anniversary this weekend on Saturday and I really wanna celebrate it with my hubby. My hubby got so excited that he even bought the tickets to come on Saturday and return tickets to Houston, TX for Wednesday. He also booked my ticket to Houston with his return flight for Wednesday.

Now, I was told at the interview that the passport will arrive in 1 week. However, I am also worried about it not arriving on time. We also have a back up plan if it doesn't arrive by Wednesday. We will cancel the tickets and book it for Saturday. Do you think it will take longer than Saturday? My husband can't take more than 5 days off of work at such short notice and I really wanna go to Houston with my hubby when he comes this time. So, can someone suggest if it will arrive by Saturday for sure or it's unlikely? I already saw some changes on CSC Canada usvisa-info.com website. Before it would show confirmation and all. But now it doesn't and it added my visa type too. It looks something like this:

G*** , E**** [Edit] Primary Applicant Passport Number: AB12345 Reference ID: ******** Date of Birth: 01-January-2013 Visa Class: IR[Edit] Priority Date: 13-Nov-2012[Edit]

My loomis branch is Markham, ON (just in case this info helps). Does adding visa class mean anything? Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance :)!

  8. My interview is before you on Wednesday. I am off to Montreal tomorrow morning. I am twice as nervous, but singing a soothing song really helps with calming my nerves, lol (just a tip). Good luck to you. Hope we both have a good news to share soon :)

  9. I understand the decoding part and the fact that I need to bring everything. However, IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 & 2 are letter "R", which denotes that "You submitted the Immigrant Visa Application online". But do I need to bring this to the interview? They don't specify that. I am confused as to how I can retrieve these documents, because when I try to access the forms online on travel.state.gov, I cannot login to my case to view these files. So can someone please clarify how I can proceed with this? Thanks!

  10. Hello! After a long wait, we finally received our interview letter. It says the following. Can someone please tell me which of these documents I need to bring with me to the interview? Another question we wanted to ask was, what is IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 & 2?

  11. Nope, once you're flagged as an intending immigrant you're put into their system and will get caught EVERY time whether you're crossing together or not.

My wife and I screwed up in a similar way (she tried to travel with me while I was moving from Canada to the US), and the next time she tried to cross the border (by herself) she was denied again based on the previous denial. They were very clear that there's no way she's getting in without a visa.

Yea, and that's why I didn't attempt to do that again. Just being sent back was humiliating enough for me to not attempt it again without a proper visa. I don't know how ridiculous this is. Many people lie and go and get married there and apply for adjustment visa. People like us don't want to lie and tell the truth and we are the ones to get screwed :'(. Life is very unfair sadly

  12. Who told that you have to get i130 approved and only then you can go to the US with your spouse. I am from Ontario and my wife is a US Citizen, I cross the border with her all the time and everytime we tell the officer, that my docs are in process.

Backgroung - I am an Indian citizen with Canadian PR. Wife is a US Citizen and a doctor.

most of the times when I cross I tell them, that I will come back to Canada as I already have a job in Canada and also the best thing is that Being a Doctor or a husband of a Doctor really helps.

my i130 was filed in Dec and sincce then I've made liek 10-12 trips to the US

Unfortunately, I was crossing the border with 'intent to move' and being a Canadian Citizen you cannot have that intent otherwise you would be booted and will not be allowed until I-130 is all done. It happened to me, sad :(. You only visited, which is different than "moving".

  13. Hi Emma,

I received a checklist from the NVC because they rejected the initial Canadian police certificate I mailed them. They received my second police certificate on June 24, 2013 and It took them 18 working days to review it. Hopefully they will review your document soon, but it may take another two weeks for them to have a look at it. I know how frustrating it is to call them and be told they haven't reviewed it yet.

I am also living apart from my husband while waiting for my green card so I understand your situation. I haven't seem my husband since February and probably won't see him until September. I'm originally from Canada but I am currently living in Australia. I have no family or close friends here so I've been very lonely since my husband left for California. It would be too expensive for him to visit me so I just have to wait for my visa before seeing him again. At least my case is now complete, I'm just waiting for my interview date.

    Julie

Thanks Julie for your response. I was hoping it would be sometime this week. But at least now I know it will be a while so I can stop thinking about it too much. I woke up crying again this morning and I feel like I get so mad at my husband sometimes. But what is he do to... he is a very nice man. He just takes all my harsh words in and tries to calm me down. This is really affecting my mental health now. Anyway, thanks for sharing your side of the story as well. It's nice to know I am not the only one in the world, not that I wish this on either one or anyone in this world.

  14. I need to share my visa journey from the beginning. My husband and I got married on September 14, 2012. We both were going to catch a plane from Buffalo to Texas after passing the US-Can border on September 22, 2013; not knowing that I had to apply for a visa and having to wait for so long to be with my husband. I was shocked to receive the news from the US border protection that we had to apply for I-130 visa or K-3. We thought that as Canadian citizen, I can go to US anytime, not knowing I can’t go with my newly married husband. Yes, we were dumb to not have thought of this before we even got married. But here we are; getting all the hurdles we possibly can while trying to get the visa.

Let me give you a sense of what my life is like here in Toronto. After the wedding, my husband got sick. He caught West Nile virus (through a mosquito bite)and nobody knew about it until it affected his heart. On our wedding night he was short of breath, he was lethargic, but I didn’t think it would be due to his weak heart, which was caused by a stupid virus. After he went back to Houston, he got a chest X-ray done and found out his heart was bigger than normal size. That’s when he was diagnosed with myocarditis (inflammation of heart d/t infection caused by West Nile), and cardiomyopathy. I was devastated! I felt like my life was over; he is on 5 heart medications now (sad L). Anyway, he is getting better now, but I feel horrible to not be able to be a part of his sickness when he got sick. I was just on Skype and prayed for him. That was all I could have done. Moving on to other stuff... Last year, because I was hoping to move to the US, I had my driver’s license get expired because I was going to move there anyway, so why bother doing another exam and going through a possibility of passing or failing. So now, I have no license. Now third situation is that I am a new graduate Registered Nurse. I finished my nursing school in 2012 and got a casual position at a place. However, I feel very depressed at times because I don’t get called to work very much and I don’t think I am gaining much experience working at the place I am working. I didn’t even look for jobs because usually most positions require you to sign an annual contract because new grads need training and they only provide that orientation training to those who will work for them for long (pretty much forever). Hence, I didn’t bother looking for jobs; was happy with what I had. I recently passed the American RN exam (NCLEX-RN), yay me, but I was not as happy as I should have been due to this immigration problem. I have been crying and not sleeping/resting as I should be due to all these issues and living away from my husband just breaks my heart. I don’t even feel married. My brother got married a couple months before me, and I see my brother and sister-in-law grow as a couple, but here I am stuck on skype with my husband. Sometimes I just feel like I am talking to some bot on skype. Every time my husband comes to see me (usually every 3 months) I feel like I am meeting a new person because we have been away from each other for so long. Gosh... I am crying right now as I write. So right now my life situation is the worst you can possibly imagine. I am a health professional and so I try coping with this stress through various strategies; but lately I really have been very depressed. I even considered seeking professional help. Anyway, sorry to write my life story, but I felt it’s important to mention this to everyone so you understand what’s going on. So from start until now, everything has gone wrong since the wedding. Bad things happened and unanticipated things happened. Maybe someone’s evil eye afflicted us (I don’t know, it’s possible). Now let’s see what hurdles I have encountered so far in my visa process...

First hurdle was that our case was sent to NRC instead of NVC and our case was gone missing for 2 months (please see timeline). This delayed the process significantly, which again contributed to a little bit of my depression. I was happy then I guess, but later on in the process we got this e-mail from NVC saying we had some missing documents. The checklist PDF stated:

NVC has reviewed the financial evidence submitted. However, additional information is

required to complete the financial evidence review. Please provide all requested documents and

refer to page two for mailing instructions.

    General Instructions

[x] The checklist below indicates missing or incomplete documents.

    Supporting Documents missing or incomplete

[x] A written statement/explanation as to why tax returns were not filed is required if you are/have been

    unemployed, retired or dependent.

[x] The listed income tax documents/IRS statements for the years marked below are missing/incomplete (if you

have lost any of the requested tax information, contact your local IRS office to obtain a copy) (Only Federal

returns (not state or local) are acceptable unless the sponsor's income was earned in Puerto Rico.)

Federal income tax returns, literal printouts from the IRS (RTFTP) or a Letter 1722 issued by IRS

    are missing/incomplete for the year(s): [x] 2012 [ ] 2010 [ ] 2009 [ ] 2008.

However, on their website, they say “IF you filed US taxes, you MUST submit a copy of your most recent federal income tax return with all supporting schedules and/or W-2s, or an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) transcript (even if you filed electronically). To request IRS-generated transcripts or copies of a tax return, visit the IRSwebsite.” Hence we only sent them the W-2. We even confirmed with the NVC operators if we only needed to send the W-2 and they said, “YES”. Then why in the world did we get this e-mail? My hubby called NVC and spoke to the supervisor and she agreed that the website is misleading and agreed to send our supporting documents of W-2 to the appropriate department. We received an e-mail from them that very night (July 11th) saying:

    Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your correspondence.

We received electronic documentation for this case. Please allow up to 20 business days from the day the email was sent for the scanned attachments to be uploaded to the electronic case file and reviewed.

    IMPORTANT:
Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

As this case is processing electronically, all forms and documents must be sent via email as scanned attachments to NVCElectronic@state.gov. Sending physical documents to the NVC will delay the processing of your case.

After all this, I feel like our case is now stuck. Nobody seems to be reviewing it and everyday we call NVC and they say the same thing that they haven’t reviewed it yet. I am really losing hope. I am currently living in my brother’s house and my parents live with him also. I just feel so uncomfortable living with my brother and my parents because I should have been gone from this house long time ago. I feel like a burden on them. I sometimes wish I never got married; I would have been happier then. But then I think, this is only temporary wait; I will be out of this mess sooner than I think. Please help me understand what’s going on with my case. When will it be completed at NVC. Please someone, helppp!!

  15. They have sent a lot of cases to NRC (national record center), instead of NVC (national visa center). It happened to me and it caused 2 months delay. Call USCIS after 15 business days because as per NVC, they should receive your case from USCIS within 15 business days of NOA2. If nothing is being done, make sure you inform your congressman. They will help you out a lot! Good luck!

  16. That's great news!! So calling NVC and talking to night manager Maria did help?

I actually never got the hold of Maria. But my hubby is planning on calling them tonight to expedite the process. We called a night supervisor last week and she said that they will avoid 10-20 business days wait once they receive the case, in order to make up for the days it was lost. I am not so sure if it was Maria, but she wasn't that much of a help. If it is sent to NRC, there is nothing anybody could do from my experience. But continue to call NVC and USCIS daily. Get the congressperson involved too. I don't know if calling them and getting the congresswoman really helped me, but 2 months is the maximum wait for the cases that get sent to NRC mistakenly.

  17. Hi MGAF!

Surprisingly, no! The last time we called them was on Friday and we called them twice. We spoke to the supervisor. She said they have nothing for us. My hubby is going to call them again tonight. I will leave a post on here if we hear any good news. But right now, we are just hoping for the best sad.png

OMG, OMG, OMG I just gave NVC a call after replying to your post. They said they received our case today... yayyyy!! But they will take 10-20 business days to put it in their system, which is a bummer. I am still happy that they found it. It took exactly 2 months for NVC to get our file; I would have had my interview by now if this delay wouldn't have occurred. But everything happens for the best. Maybe this was meant to happen. I hope they don't delay this process any further now :|

  18. Hi Emma,

It's actually Erika. I'm usually the one posting here on VJ. Maria is the NVC Call Center Night Manager. She will be able to help you out. When you call NVC at about 7-8pm EST, ask if you could be transferred to Maria the Night Manager. Hope this helps! smile.png

    ~Erika

Lol... I just realized when I saw posts on another forum. Thank you so much Erika for your help! I shall give them a call again tomorrow and see what's going on.
