  1. Hello, Thank you for your time and attention/help. My situation goes back 2-3 years ago. My wife and I filed i751 as normal and she had biometrics taken etc. We just waited. Unfortunately, we received a letter of abandonment because they supposedly mailed a letter RFE and we never provided it. We went into USCIS and was told to re-file the I751 so we did ( re-received APRIL 7 2017) til this day we have not heard from them. The local USCIS told us its just been slow. Her extension is about to expire. Do we get an extension at the local USCIS? Another dilemma is I just got accepted to medical school and the carribean and this is really a burden because how can I take my spouse? How can I accelerate this process? Ive heard of people saying to apply to naturalaztion.. citizenship or send a letter of expedite... she has been in florida legally since 2013.

Can I ask, was your case 'touched' at any point? I'm not going to say 'you should have done this or should have done that' but my guess is if it was touched then they definitely did something with it. Sorry, I'm not providing any help, just out of curiosity really.

I have read somewhere (again, not going to be help of a definitive answer), but someone had the same issue and they were advised to send in the fee and if they could prove that it was indeed USCIS's fault then they would receive that fee back. I feel your pain and I sincerely hope you manage to get it resolved.

to be honest , no, we knew it would take a while.but now.that her extensiom expires in march we got worried and letter came in today

I'm afraid so- The decision cannot be appealed. It can be re-opened if you basically can prove the USCIS made a mistake and not you. It does say something about a immigration judge, but this would just be to try to "win" over USCIS in order to prove it was their mistake. So, unless you do have a change of address proof such as mentioned then I'm afraid that is your only option.

Let's see if anyone has any other opinions or as you say experiences, but I've seen similar postings :(

well..fingerprints letter came.to.our apt ( which was address xhanged)

im headss to old address.to see if its there..that could be the proof right

This is why it's so important to stay on top of applications and when time drags out, send service requests to see what's taking so long.

Seems they sent you an RFIE, that you never got. From what the documents say, your only option would be to re-apply since you cannot show that you in fact did not get the RFIE. :(

    reapply as in ? i751?

  6. I filed Petition to Remove Condtion in January 2015 because my Permanent resident card expired February 2015. I received a I 797C, Notice of Action and I-751 Receipt Notice which I used to travel to Colombia and Mexico. To this date I have not received anything else.

    This is the case status...

On November 3, 2015, the Post Office returned your document to us. We will hold your document for 180 days or until May 1, 2016. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you do not submit an online request by May 1, 2016, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, with fee. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

What does this mean? What do I have to do?

I felt it was taking a very long time.. Also.. we have moved and I filed to change address..
