For those of you that have been transferred and now know where your file is (Nebraska, Texas) did you get a notice from USCIS saying your file ws sent to "your local office"? Still trying to see if this was a mistake and the files are all indeed going to service centers not local offices.
Yes, the same thing happened to me. USCIS originally said (online case status update) that my case was sent to local office and then 2 days later the web site said it was sent to a USCIS office. I received a letter in the mail that said our case was sent to Nebraska and a second letter in the same envelope that said we should hear something within 60 days. And, if we don't hear anything, to call the 800 number.
-
So in the last 3 days, here is what happened:
from Feb 25th-Oct 22nd - No status on USCIS website
Oct 22nd - Case showed up 'Initial Review' - Case is being transferred to another USCIS office
OCt 23rd - Case is being transferred to Local USCIS office
Oct 24th - Case is being trasnferred to a USCIS office
So where the heck is my case going to end up?? Has this happened to many people here?
Thanks!
I just checked my case status online and now it says that our case is being processed as a USCIS office and yesterday it said a local office.
-
I just checked our status online and received the following message:
On October 22, 2013, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed
I'm happy that we're finally seeing some movement. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long for an approval.

I asked a question.
I didn't say anything about my husband jumping the queue so I didn't understand the question. I just pointed about the fact that my husband is former U.S. military, while he was a legal resident, and preference isn't given.
-
Why should it? Why should he jump the queue?
You have a right to your opinion.
-
Thank you!
I can see your point, but understand, I lived over in the Netherlands with my husband for close to 8 years. We already went through the background checks, etc, and I'm certain that the government still has the results of those checks somewhere. We have two kids together. My husband is not from a high fraud country. The people who are coming over on the K1 visa get to stay in the country, with their prospective spouses, until they either get married and can do the AOS, or decide to leave (possibly within 90 days, but then again, maybe not.) My husband can't even come *VISIT* us. That's bullcrap.
I don't think you're correct about the fiance visa, as it specifically states that it's for people who intend to stay in the US after marriage. If you don't plan on staying in the US, you don't get the visa. And from what I understand, AOS from a tourist visa is extremely difficult to accomplish. Having the K1 proves that you have intention to move to the US. And as far as I understand, an immigrant or tourist can be denied entry at any time and for any reason and they have little recourse.
I completely agree with you. All of this is so unfair to families. I have been married for 5 years and my husband and I have two, kids also. Neither of us was married before or had any other children. The real kicker for us is that my husband was a U.S. legal permanent resident 20 years ago (went to high school and 1 year of college here) and was also a U.S. Marine for a few years. My husband made the decision to return to the his country after his younger brother died suddenly. He was never deported but returned his green card because he was moving home for good. When I went to an INFOPASS sereval months ago and I mentioned that my husband was a former Marine, USCIS could care less. I have contacted my senator's offices and they make inquiries on our behalf but I think a lot of people do this so it has no real impact. A friend of a friend has a daughter that works in one senator's office as an unpaid intern and during the furlough she was asked not to come to work so that may be why you haven't received any replies from congressional workers. Other offices may have asked even the unpaid, volunteer staff not to work. Hang in there...we'll all get through this.

congratulations
how do you know they are processing March now?
I think they are processing everyone according to their PD, everyone is in different stages. But many cases of March filers are in the last stages than others and chances are them getting approved soon. As well as April filers too may get approved before some March or February filers too... and the rest maybe a bit later.
There is a lot of February filers too, the easy ones have been approved, but some cases are taking longer because their PD is later or their situations are bit difficult to process, I believe. Everyone starts from the first stage (PD), and then continues, but how long you stay in a stage of the process it depends on many things.
How do you know the February filers' situations are difficult to process?

Mar.12.13 filer and i received NOA2 on Oct.11.13. what a wait, it was torture...
They are doing early march now.
I'm a February filer and still waiting. My PD is February 21.
Congratulations to you but all this skipping around is very frustrating.

Interesting. I thought they do these meetings twice a year and wasnt expecting until mid november. No mention of Overland Park being open...wish i had more info.
Yes, thanks for the information.

Hi guys, I got approved today. I spent majority of my time grousing on this thread so I wanted to share this moment with you. Thanks for all your support, I hope NVC is a better journey than the wait for NOA2 was. Good news is that it seems January/February are being worked on now? Good luck.
Congratulations Sirius! Woo Hoo! That's wonderful news and really makes me feel hopeful that our petition will be approved soon!
Administrative Processing - Please help!
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted · Edited by Mrs_D
My husband had his interview yesterday and they consular officer said that they were missing some documents. My husband was able to leave the Embassy, retrieve the documents from scans that I sent, and deliver them back to the Embassy. Last night, the CEAE web site said: Refused
Then, this morning my husband recived this email message from the Embassy:
Mr. WXXXXX DXXXXXX,
We have all the documents we need from you at this time. You case is now pending additional administrative processing. We will let you know as soon as we are cleared to issue your immigrant visa.
Thank you for your quick response and patience.
Respectfully,
JXXXX X. JXXXX
Do you think this is good news?
