Gracias , can you tell me when I should start calling NVC or DOS

Do you know if your case has been shipped to NVC. After it has been shipped then give it a week or even 2 to begin calling. When we were approved things were running quicker. Unfortunately NVC and DR are taking a lot longer to assign SDO#'s and give citas.

That is correct. We were approved early July and our cita is next week.

Time goes by quickly so be proactive and do everything you can do with time. Do not leave anything till last minute. Next thing you know you will be on your flight going to the cita.

Yes this happened to me last year going from Ft. Lauderdale to Santo Domingo. I was told that it was to "ensure" that we return... LIKE REALLY... THAT IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER. If I wanted to stay in another country I would just not come back (regardless of ticket purchased). I was luck that my friend who also works for Jetblue was able to give me a buddy pass and did not have to pay $600 for my return flight or my daughters.

I did notice that my parents who are naturalized US citizens are not required to buy a round-trip due to them being Dominican born.

To me it's just Ridiculous and a way to get people to spend ridiculous amounts of $ at last minute.

I received my case number after being transferred 8 days ago.

Until even this VERY MOMENT the USCIS website and "last touched" date (if you sign in) is unchanged since the 15th. It still says Response Review but I received the actual NOA-2 in the mail yesterday.

So I received NO UPDATES AT ALL... Not Email, Not Text Message and the website unchanged.

Here's my breakdown:

July 2nd RFE Email

July 9 RFE Hardcopy

July 15 USCIS Rec'd Package ~ I got text telling me the case was updated and an email saying it was received. Status was also updated on USCIS Website.

July 22 with no contact and no change of status anywhere!! POOF!! MAGICAL NOA-2 Hardcopy in hand!!!

I almost lost my feet when I opened it and read "Approval Notice Valid from XX/XX/2013 to XX/XX/2013

I hope this helps anyone still waiting!!

Got an email from USCIS a couple of hours ago.... and confirmed it on the USCIS website....... On Our Way to NVC

On July 22, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

DR is one of the consulates that is mandatory for the petitioner to be present. My understanding is that the visa will not be approved until the peticioner is present for the interview. If the beneficiary goes alone they will give him/her an open date appointment until the peticioner is available.

Just got my approval tonight! 2/8 NOA1 transferred to TSC on 6/21! It's my birthday today so very good birthday present indeed.

no, the affadavit is for the interview, that is not needed now. i just dont get it, my case is solid, i sent in everything tht they asked for. well, at least our cases were "touched"

now my mind is moving a mile a minute about this RFE..............wht could it be??????????????

It could be anything. You will only know when you get the hardcopy.

That's what I thought with mine and then realized that I didn't include the intent to marry letters.

It could be as simple of you not putting "N/A" on a question.

Like you said at least it's touched. Hope that you get the hardcopy quickly to move on to the next step.

The same thing happened to me and when I filled another one out it just popped up.

I have no idea how I came across this this but is it true that in order to get the "Certificado de No Antecedentes Judiciales" or Certificado de Policia (are they the same?) from la Procuradora Fiscal you have to take 2 passport photos, a copy of cedula front and back? My fiance says he's gotten one before and only needed his cedula...are the requirements different when you need one for a visa?

Another thing we are disagreeing about is "La Acta de Nacimiento". I know it has to be inextensa & legalizada but i read that it must specifically be legalizada en la oficina del estado civil. also he says he's gotten it before from somewhere else and that they notarize it there...does it matter?

So after waiting 10 long days I finally get the RFE hardcopy in the mail today. Like I thought, they are requesting the intent to marry from my fiance and myself. Luckily I was able to get one from my Fiance about 2 weeks ago.

I just been Approved !!!!! My NOA 1 was January 7th. I was transferred from Vermont to Texas.

What your status said? I thinking i might get an RFE also. But like you say, anything at this point is positive. A friend of mine got an RFE less than a month ago and it only toke 10 days to getthe approval from receivig the RFE (it was because they didnt send the pics like they needed to) (the same one i might get)
