  1. Guys, Im sorry for posting this a bit late. Alhamdulillah, by Allah's grace and mercy my husbands visa was issued on September 24th. His AP lasted almost 9 months, he was interviewed in January of this year. His case update date was changing but not quickly. It changed on July 30th, July 31st, September 3rd, September 10th, September 23rd and on September 24th. When I checked in the early morning on the 24th it was AP but later late morning it changed to issued on the same day. He picked up his visa on the 27th, he didnt receive a call from AMEX, I told him to go to the office because it could be possible they do calls later and it was true, his visa had arrived. I feel that in AP no one can help except Allah. I tried emailing and contacting everyone possible and the response was the same everytime, they would tell me his case is in AP as if I didnt know it was in AP. Also, even though my husband's medical expires in December the embassy did not say anything about another medical. I had been sending the embassy one email each month since June and they did not respond to one email, not even one email from june-september and nor would the date change in CEAC even with sending the email.

My prayers are with everyone, I continue to pray for all waiting in this process especially Carolyn and Eabbas. Allah does not burden a soul without that it can bear. Do remember this because just when I was feeling like its becoming impossible, Allah heard my prayers. Everyone will have their sun shine bright, that moment is just awaiting its best time to shine.

  2. Just wanted to share this with all of you. I was told by Nvc today that police certificates are no longer required from Pakistan due to their validity!! So sad that pakistan offical documents cannot be considered valid!!! I blame pakistan corrupt system for Ap more than American delaying the process!! I am sure with them not accepting police certificates there will be more people going through Ap in coming future!! May Allah make This easier and quicker process for all of us.Ameen!!

Does this mean if one has been in AP for more than 6 months they wont have to provide another police certificate since it is valid for only 6 months? Its been 7 months for us and I was actually thinking that the embassy might tell us to get another one or so.

  3. Asalamalakuim. Ramadan mubarak to all, i hope everyone is doing good. I was curious to know something, if anyone could give any insight on this i would appreciate it. Does going to pakistan to see your spouse, and sending the embassy a copy of ur visit like ticket n all make anyyyy difference at all? Any insight would be helpful. Thank you! In Shaa Allah we all will here good news in this blessed month of ramadan.

  4. July 6 marks our case in AP for 4 months. I dont know why Allah is not helping us...Why is he keeping us away from our life partner???cray5ol.gif

Allah knows best, He knows what is good for us better than we do. Some things just dont come with ease, they require patience which I know is hard because I myself am going through it but thats the quality Allah loves and wants to see in our hardships. Keep your trust strong in Allah and In Shaa Allah you will see the results. This result does not have to be in the form of a visa, it can be a strong feeling that makes you know your prayers will be answered soon and that your almost there. My husbands case has also been in AP and is entering its 7th month. In Shaa Allah that day will come for all of us soon; I hope, wish, and pray this process comes to an end for all of us.

  5. HI Sj24

how do you know that people got thier visas in june ? the embassy progress seems very slow from last a couple of months.

I saw that some people got their visas in june because along with my husbands case there were cases that i saw which were pending and not touched since March,April. But then there was some progress and I saw a few visas issued. I was hoping that since these other cases are being worked on we would be next in line.

  6. Thank you PuppyLove for your kind words. I am feeling very sad this morning. A young Pakistani man just wrote to me and said his visa was issued today after 3 weeks in AP. I am happy for him but so sad for me and my husband and everyone else that has to spend years in AP. They got our documents, medical and passport all by April 25th and they haven't touched our case sense. I am a human being, not a machine. How many more years of my life do they want me to give them. If they are going to deny our visa just do it and let me and my husband come up with plan B. Why do we have to live in constant limbo?

Hey Carolyn, your not alone. Im feeling just as sad this morning also. I also saw a few cases with visas issued and as you said I feel happy for them; I wish no one has to go through this heartbreaking process as we are going through. We are about to start our 7th month in AP. Never thought it would come this far, but God knows best. Hopefully, the embassy will start to work on our cases also.

  7. I personally know someone who wrote to the ambassador of the embassy of her husband's country. Within weeks her husband had his visa. She also received a phone call saying they were sorry for her long AP.

If the ambassador can't help us he knows someone in the embassy who can. I say try everything to bring your loved one home.

There will always be negative people on visa journey. When I filed my Writ of Mandamus I didn't post that on visa journey because I didn't want to hear the negative comments. I just went ahead and did it. For me the Writ of Mandamus worked but I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. My point is you have a brain so use it. Make your own decisions about what is best for your case.

Hi Carolyn, Im trying to send you a PM but it isnt going through for some reason :(

  8. yes totally agree with you i have worked alot over the internet to find MR RICAHRD OLSON,S email but there is no contact number or email of mr ambassdor,so best thing is that we have to send him letter..because emailing to isl embassy is waste of time they only reply standard answer that they copy and paste to every one...really appreciate your efforts, please keep it up...

Yes i couldnt find an email either. And email as you said only gives the same generic response, copy and paste. I want to send the letter asap but where is the letter being sent to? I understand its being addressed to the ambassador but the address would be the embassy?

  9. SJ24..i researched alot to find out the email of US ambassador in pakistan MR RICHARD OLSON but there is nuthing much about him over the google or us embassy isl website,so best thing is that as you are discussing that we have to write the letter to him,i know it might work (not hopeful as got the standard reply from senetor, congressman and president house) but we have to write him, make him aware that why we are been punished for?as every time we call your DOS and email isl embassy we get always same answer that everything is ok.we dont need anything from your side,we are just doing some administrative processing.as i personally cant see any progress since march my case is freeze and all other vj members cases are frozen, what they are working on than, they are just punishing us being a pakistanis,as we can see over the tv and social media that MR OLSON has alot of time to visit pakistan than why he dont have time to work on the visa process.....please gather all of those who are in AP ask them to write him letter as much as they can....its the time we have to wake up and make them our about there justice with pakistanis.

Yes definitely we have to write to him. Its becoming hard just sitting and doing nothing. If nothing else atleast all this will give us some peace of mind that we are doing something. I also tried to find his email some while back ago but couldnt find anything. Carolyn has contacted the embassador before so she will probably have the info on contacting him via letter or so. As you said, cases have been frozen since march, so has ours :( I dont understand what exactly are they doing. I hope we all see progress soon.

  10. I know. I was thinking about the same thing. When waiting for Carolyn to answer, I googled to see who the current ambassador is and whether their contact information is available. It used to be Sherry Rehman who resigned on May 19, 2013. I couldn't find any other information and then ended up on the U.S embassy link in Washington and realized that Dr. Asad M. Khan is listed under the ambassador. I am going to email the embassy as Carolyn suggested but also email him on the address listed below: dcm@embassyofpakistanusa.org. I figured what's the worst that can happen?

    Source:

    http://www.embassyofpakistanusa.org/keyofficers.php

JazakAllah Khair for the information. It was really helpful. But I thought the ambassador is Richard Olsen. On the islamabad embassy website it shows Richard Olsen. I guess we both will wait and see what carolyn says because I am a bit confused as to who to send the email to. But yes exactly, what the worst than can happen. Im probably going to send emails to the people listed on the link.

  11. When I filed the I-130 petition with USCIS, the Vermont Servicing Center was so slow. I am not sure if that's still the case however, it was taking 6-8 months to get an approval. My I-130 Petition wasnt "touched" for 6 six months so I contacted the senator's office. She (the senator) requested an update on the case and because of that they sent me a RFE after 6 months. Once I sent in the RFE, it was back to the same thing (case not being updated/touched) and took another two months to get an approval with the help of the Senator's office. So in total, it took 8 months for my I-130 to be approved. I think I would have been stuck longer if it weren't for the senators help. That being said, I don't know how much they can help with the Administsative Processing. Since I recently hit the 3.5 months mark of being in AP, I contacted the same senator yesterday. As SJ24 stated, I highly doubt that they can do much to help but It's something that I wanted to do so at least I know that I have done everything in my power and it might give me some peace. I also emailed the White House yesterday as well. I was thinking of contacting the second senator, comgressman and ombudsman's office. Again, none of these things will help but they might give me some peace.

Exactly, doing all this just gives peace of the mind that we have tried to do everything in our power.

  12. Salaam, I had a question to ask , has anyone here on VJ, gotten help from the senator in there case and then got a positive result from them? And after getting help from senator did your case move on? Or is it still in its place ? Please let me know if anyone has gotten good results from the senator :) please and thank you, may ALLAH give us all visas , and forgive us if we have done or said anything wrong :) [Ameen]

Walakuim Salaam. I contacted my congressman in March. I went to his office and also gave him a letter explaining everything. It did not help at all. Our case is as was before contacting him. In Administrative Processing no one can help except Allah. Iv seen lots of people on visa journey say that even for them congressman, senator, even the president, they all were of no help. Everyone will say the same thing over n over "your case is in Administrative Processing". Just pray. In Shaa Allah we all will hear good news soon. Dont be disheartened, just have sabar. I dont mean to dishearten you, you should still contact your senator but just be ready to know that it probably wont help or change anything. Allah will help us all. :)

  13. my husbands interview was june 15 2011 so it's officially been two years. very heartbreaking and painful but the fact is we love eachother deeply and will be together always.

EAbbas, I used to read VJ silently since January and often read your posts. You have been in my prayers ever since. I always think of u, and how hard it must be but just remember Allah is All-Watching. You will be rewarded for ur patience in Shaa Allah wheather its in this life or the akhirat. May Allah bless ur family and cure ur daughter. In Shaa Allah that day will come soon when u wont have to part from your husband.

  14. SJ24 iam totally agree with you that even i think same thing that its ALLAH who will do everything for us but other side if you see that ALLAH is saying that do some movement I will help you than so keep your strong faith in ALLAH and fight for your right.same thing happened to my case aswel from dec to march everything was going fast looks like i will get my visa today or tomorrow,in march my status was updated every single day including saturdays, but i dont know what happen than iam stuck on 27th march now, even we got reply from white house im may but status remained same,.so my belief is that ALLAH is there to help us but we have to do some work so ALLAH reward us.

regarding email to white house just start it in a normal way ,keep it simple and short tell them that at the end of interview CO said that your visa will be approved in 3 to 6 months(was mine tim)tell them urs, make them aware that whats going on why its taking so long no one is helping, please tell us the reason for this.....hope this will help you..

Thank you so much! Yes you have definitely helped im formatting the email. Some days i feel the same that we have to do something to get this going but then, there is nothing we can do except pray. Every where there is only one answer "AP, we cannot tell you anything, etc."

In feb and march lots of people were getting visas and we also thought we would be next but then as others, our case has been frozen eversince.

Just keep your fath strong in Allah, In Shaa Allah, Allah will def reward us for our sabar. :)

Don't know what these embassy ppl do all day, I haven't seen any good news on VJ yet, I am shoucked that these ppl even send interview dates to us, that's good that they get free for that , anyways may ALLAH give us Sabar , that's all we can do

Exactly whats on my mind!! What do these embassy people do all day? If I saw at least a few other cases being worked on I would think they are doing "something" but nothing is moving in anyones case.

  15. When I check our case online it says it's in necessary AP. I believe mandatory and necessary are probably same. My understanding is that it involves name checks/back ground checks and probably checks to make sure the relationship is legit. None of us really know 100% of what it all means we can only assume. Wish you all the best!!!

Thanks!! :) yea online it says necessary AP. I dont even want to call DOS anymore, no point. And somewhere you know that they might just be saying something just to say it.

Anyways may Allah make it easy for all of us. Please remember all of us in prayers. Shab e bharat (holy day during this month) is coming soon I pray that In Shaa Allah for the coming year Allah grants all of us to unite with our spouses and family. :)

  16. SJ24, I also saw the same pattern @ a lot of people getting approved from Jan to March.

Anyway, I was thinking of writing an email/letter to the White House as well but it has only been 3.5 months since our AP. I felt like its probably too soon (comparing to almost everyone here with 6+ mo). However, if it takes 30 days to just get a reply, I guess it doesn't hurt to start drafting something now.

Yes def, it wont hurt to start a draft. For us its our 6th month. I never thought it would come this far in AP (I dont think anyone did) but Allah is the greatest of planners. Im going to send an email soon to the white house In Shaa Allah. I hope we are all out of AP soon. Ameen. :-)

  17. I wrote a letter to the White House and it took 30 days to get a letter back. The White House will forward the letter or email to the Department of State(DOS). In the letter they told me the reason why my visa was denied and that my case had been reaffirmed. Information I already knew but what I didn't know was the exact date my case made it back to the embassy. They gave me that information. It allows me to track how long my case has been in AP.

I would write to the White House you might get a small piece of information about your case.

Thanks! I def want to write an email now but i was hesitating on how to put it all in the email

  18. SJ24 yes my wife sent email to white house in the first week of april it took them more than a month to reply and the reply was same as we all know that your husbands case is pending under administrative processing embassy will contact you upon completion, nuthing else.so i think its useless they have standard answer AP.but its better to send them email atleast make them aware that we need help and justice, why only pakistanis are being punished in unpredicatable AP.my request is to all vj pakistani members send emails to white house as much as u can,i know it wont help just make them aware about our problems and show them there real face in there own mirror.....

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes I will contact them but somedays I feel so down as to nothing will help except Allah but other days I want to send emails n all. May Allah grant all of us visas to our spouses.

Earlier in January through March I felt that there were lots of visas being issued, even in my household a few relatives got their visas issued during those months. And I also checked many other cases who got their visas in those months. But after mid March I feel as if everthing has frozen; and I am not saying this only in regards to my husbands case, Iv been looking at numerous cases that have been frozen ever since. I dont know what happened all of a sudden. Does anyone else feel this way also?

In Shaa Allah we will all hear good news soon.
