Oath ceremony on April 22nd ( again, fast) on Pomona...Looking foward to it, almost an American Citizen ! ! !

    Almost over..

    Wish all the best

  2. Hello all

Well, yesterday i went to my citizenship interview at the LA office..

I got there at 10 am and they told me to come back at 10:30....The room was packed, totally full..

So i came back and sat down until 1pm, i was almost freaking out as i was almost the last one to be called..

Finally this lady came out and called my name and on to the interview..

We sat down, she asked for my Green Card, Passports and Driver License.Asked me a few questions about my traveling overseas..she was checking the whole application at the same time...She also asked me if i had more pictures as the ones that i sent it were wrong...

Then she asked to read a phrase in english: THE PRESIDENT LIVES IN THE WHITE HOUSE.....and to write the same sentence..Really easy..PASSED!!!

She asked me 10 questions about history and government..You have to get 6 to pass..I Passed..

who is the father of our country????

On what month we vote for president??

How many representatives there are in Congress???

What does the Judicial branch does???

Who is the speaker of the house???

Whats the 3 first words of the constitution???

How often do we elect US representatives???

i dont remember the other ones...

Then she made sign a few papers...Asked about my ex wife and the present one...she kept all the docs that i took it to prove that my marriage was for real...and asked me if i had any questions...and i asked if i passed if i was approved...She laughed and said that she couldnt tell me because i didnt have the pictures and therefore my application was incomplete..I went to the 3rd floor took some pictures and gave her at her office..She told me to wait the decision in the mail...

Pretty easy i guess, i hope i got approved....Lets wait...

    My best to all..

  3. Hello everyone

Total of 22  days after the interview to be touched and probably about 1 month to get the card....Not bad at all.....Not bad at all..

  5. thanks for the answer...YES...i was approved on march 8th at my interview...i got a letter saying so, and the officer stamped my file with APPROVED....so if i was pending any name checks she wouldnt approved me right on the spot....

She gave a Welcome letter saying i was approved and that if a need a stamp i should use that letter, and that was that....

no....i havent got any updates in the sistem since november..... and at the infopass the only thing that the non heplfull officer told me was that the letter says it can take up to 90 days to receive the card and i should wait....

  6. Went to infopass to get passaport stamped today and they wouldnt give to me,,saying its only for emergencies..i told hem i needed because i was changing employers and they needed proff of residency as the officer kept my EAD.......

    so NO STAMP....

i asked them how long for the GREEN CARD.....They dont know, up to 3 monhs, like the letter says........

They did told me something about a problem in their sistem or that the letter the officer gave me wasnt the right one, bla, bla....

After 5 minutes i was tellin them how terrible the service was and how sometimes in immigration nobody speaks the same language and have different oppions...which SUCKS, cause we never know what to do...

So, any friends from LA that got their Green Card??????? and how long after the interview????

my next step will be trying to knock on the door from the lady that interviewed me and ask whats up...they have to know they are dealing with people lives and that shouldnt take that long....and its a very good job a might be missing......

    Thanks everybody

  7. Hi Everybody

We just got home from our aos interview in LA....this is what happen:

Got there about 9:45, we had our appoinment at 10:30.......gave our letter at the window and sat in the waiting room...after everybody that got there after us got called, we had our very nice lady afficer ( Mrs Goldie) called us in about 11:00.....she took us to her office, swear us in and took our id's......

While looking at our file she asked some questions:

    1- How did you meet???

    2- How long ago???

then she checked our address and asked me all those HAVE YOU EVER questions....to which i answered Yes to arrest....i had a DUI almost 7 years ago....i gave her the court papers and she was happy....

That was it.....we almost forced her to see or wedding pictures....and i asked her if she needed any papers, such as bank statements, rental, etc, etc...., and she said NO, she was happy..

    Asked for my passport, took my I -94, cut my EAD in 2 pieces and hand me a letter with approval, shook my hand and said CONGRATULATIONS ! ! ! ! i was APPROVED ! ! ! ! ! ! 10 minuts tops ! ! ! !

my best advice is: Who knows ! ! ! ! ! !??? those people are crazy, its all about luck, if you have a easy case, or even a not too complicated, is legal here, never had any immigration problems..Dont worry ! ! ! !...you might get a pain in the ### officer or a sweet lady that is going to ask you 2 questions and thats that.....there were some people crying or living the room totally frustraded...

Good luck, i hope this input helps..

    See you all in 2 years ! ! ! ! ! 1
