emgr got a reaction from SKYLARK647 in What Happens After You Receive Your Non-Immigration Visa Application Conformation?
My fiancé and I have finally gathered all the appropriate paperwork and filled out our DS-160 form. We got our application conformation, now what happens?
I really appreciate your help! Thank you!

IMO, you have sufficiently responded to the RFE that was issued to you The public charge issue will be determined by the Embassy. Have an I-134 signed by both you and your parents at interview time, they will be submitted then. FYI: when going through the AOS process, you and one of your parents will need to submit an I-864. You can use another envelope.

No - your case is essentially paused. They've got to your file and they've found a problem with it, and they're asking you for that information.
You'll get a letter, it'll tell you what they need to know. Follow that and send it back. Once it gets back to them, they'll look at your case and approve/deny it. Rarely, they'll send another RFE.
An RFE is actually sort of good news - it means they've got to your case, and assuming you respond quickly to their RFE with what they need, your case will be adjudicated very soon!

We are a NOA1 from October 18, and got an email on Friday afternoon (5/3) that petition had been approved. We had been checking online since last Thursday (4/25) when we noticed that the status had changed. I guess it took them about a week to review before being approved. It was a long wait so we hope the next steps happen quicker than this one.
Good luck to everybody, be patient and hang in there.
