  1. :time: Your timeline says one thing, your signature says another, re: NOA2.?

I fixed that, but can you please help? It's been about 2 months since we finished out DS-160 and the embassy keeps saying they'll schedule us "soon". I'm praying everything goes well, but it's very frustrating. Thank you for your help!

  2. My fiancé and I have finally gathered all the appropriate paperwork and filled out our DS-160 form, over a month ago. Now what happens?

The embassy says that they will contact us with information regarding an interview, but it has been quite sometime since we filled, what should we do?

Btw, I have contacted the embassy, but it hasn't been much help...

I really appreciate your help! Thank you!

  4. How long is a sponsor obligated to support a immigrant here on a fiancé visa?

I currently do not make enough money to be the sole sponsor of my fiancé, and I am trying to find as much information as possible to let the person who might be willing to help me out know how long their obligation will be.

    Thank you in advance!

  5. At this moment, my fiancé and I are gathering all proper paperwork for him to take to the embassy with him. Not that I am not thrilled with all your guys' help, but who would you suggest I call to ask specific questions, that I could refer back to if the information turns out wrong? The USCIS? Or somewhere else? And if you have contact information for them, that would be SO lovely. Thank you all in advance!

  6. Hello all (:

I wanted to ask you all your opinion on contact with the NVC...My fiancé and I received notification of our approved petition (yay!) on August 22, 2013. As our letter stated, we waited 30 days until we contacted the NVC to ask about our status. We have not yet received any hard copy or response e-mail, and it's been a week since I contacted them. The only correspondence we have gotten was a auto-response saying that they received our e-mail and will get back to us.

I guess our question is, is this normal to wait this long? And if not, is it appropriate to call them, or e-mail them again?

I am just worried and checking my e-mail about every five minutes...hahaha.

    Thank you all in advance!

  7. This might give you some info.. maybe not all of it thou..

    (Organizer hat off)

This will vary somewhat by consulate. One thing, for sure, is that the petitioner should send the beneficiary an exact replica of the now-approved petition package. This is so that the beneficiary can be intimately familiar with what was stated (and can answer the consul's questions accordingly) and can reach into the materials for any form or document that the consul might ask about.

The best practice is to go atop any VJ page, click the links for "Embassy Info" (for starters) and "Reviews: Embassy" (for recent experiences), and read carefully. Under the first link, you'll find the basic requirements, and under the second link, stories about what else might have been asked for.

You might also visit the actual consulate's official webpage.

    Thank you both <3

  8. Is there a place on here, or does somebody know specific items that a benficiary will need when they go for their interview? I know that they will be sent a list, when the time comes, but I was hoping to get a head start on everything.

My fiancé has a copy of everything that we have sent in and I know he'll have to get a criminal history/doctor's appointment, but what else should he start to get ready?

Thank you all in advance! (:

  9. Would you mind if I ask what did they ask you for your first RFE? and second RFE?

    Thanks

    Not at all (:

Our first one was asking for "requirement that petitioner and beneficiary have met in person". I thought I had sent enough information in the initial petition, but somehow I totally blanked on copies of my boarding passes and my passport.

We got our second RFE because I apparently sent in a G-325 instead of a G-325A for myself. They seem to be the exact same form, but I happily sent it in, as fast as possible.

I'm just hoping now that everything is to their liking! And I hope you have a lovely day!

  10. Answers:

    1. IMO, you have sufficiently responded to the RFE that was issued to you
    2. The public charge issue will be determined by the Embassy. Have an I-134 signed by both you and your parents at interview time, they will be submitted then. FYI: when going through the AOS process, you and one of your parents will need to submit an I-864.
    3. You can use another envelope.

    Thank you very much!

Just to clarify, I hypothetically don't have to worry about financials till after we get a NOA2?

  11. Hi!

So, my fiancé and I have received an RFE for "Circumstances of Meeting" and "Last Personal Meeting". When sending in my petition, I totally blanked on sending in photo copies of my passport and of my boarding passes. I have copies of those now.

Also, my fiancé is currently living in his home country, but he was living in England when I went back to see him...so we have provided his visa card, residence permit, work pay stubs, school info, and some bank statements to prove that he was there before, during, and after our meeting.

We also both have provided our own personal statements explaining what's in the packet and that we still intend to marry within 90 days of his arrival into the states.

(Also, some more photographs, because I don't think it could hurt (:)

Okay, so I have 3 questions for you guys, having already provided that information that I would love if you could help me out on, please!

First off, do you think that is enough to send to the USCIS? If not, what else should I provide?

Secondly, I don't really make enough money to support the both of us financially to begin with and I thought that was going to be the reason for my RFE, but they didn't mention that at all. My amazingly awesome parents said they would be willing to help out and sponsor us, if need be. Thing is, I really don't want another RFE or even worse, a denial. So how would I go about providing that information now in this RFE?

Lastly, in the RFE they sent me, they gave me a return envelope...I don't think all my paper will fit into there...is it okay for my to send the RFE in a different envelope (with the same information on it)? Or is it important to fit everything in there?

THANK YOU ALL for your help. I just love this man so much and I want to be with him as soon as humanly possible. Thank you!
