  1. Hi;

I need your help. In may I received a message from the consular center saying I was elected for further processing for the DV application. I sent my Ds-260 on may and received a confirmation email from the KCC saying when a visa number was available I would receive an emAil with my scheduled interview. I have not yet received any email concerning with the interview and I have no idea when it might be.

My case number is 2015SA........1829 and my confirmation number starts with AA00.........

    Any answer could be helpful

    Hello fjyb,

I never received an email from KCC about the interview. The way I found out was by going back to the dv lottery website and entering my number. There I found a letter from the KCC informing me that they had forwarded my documents to the embassy in my home country and they gave me a date and time at which the embassy expected me for the interview. So I say check on the dvlottery website :)

    Good luck!

  2. Usually around 2 months for green card. When the ELIS bubble goes to "optimized" it is in production.

If I were you I would call USCIS just to ensure they have the right address on file for you, even though you updated it on ELIS.

Ok, thank you! I was beginning to worry that something was amiss. I will call them again tomorrow and make sure my address shows up right in the system.

  3. You can leave right now, you don't even really have to pay that fee before you travel - you just won't get a physical green card if you don't pay it. When you enter, just tell the official who is processing you that you want to change the address and he will organise it for you. Good luck with the move!

SusieQQQ, you have been very helpful. Thank you very much for all your answers. I have one more question. I have been back in the US for over a month now. I paid the immigration fee and I had called USCIS to have my address changed because at the border the officers told me they could not change it in the system but could change it in the folder that I had handed them. Anyway the USCIS agent told me to change my address on the ELIS website, by updating my profile - which I did. I thought it took about a month for the physical green card to get to you? I have yet to receive it. When I log into the ELIS website it shows that I paid the immigration fee but it still says "Your application/petition has been accepted and is pending review." Do you know what that mean? What should I do?

    Thanks again!

Ok, thank you very much SusieQQQ!!! I already paid the fee and will go ahead and book my flight back to the US. I'm super excited.

Thank you all for your guidance!

  5. Hello TelexEva2013,

thank you for your reply. I called over and over and finally last monday somebody answered and told me that my visa had been ready for over a week. Anyway, I picked it up. The only problem is that the final address that figures on the packet is not my current US address. I used the email you kindly provided to contact the embassy in that regard. But if i'm not mistaking, I can file an address change request form through the USCIS website, right?

Also, if you don't mind - how long does it take to get cleared for travel once you submit the Immigration fee? I did it this morning (Cameroonian time) and hope to travel back to US next week.

    Thank you for your help!

  6. Hello everyone,

In May I had my interview at the embassy for my DV. It went well and the only thing missing was my medical results which the consular officer had asked me to bring the following Wednesday. Which I did. It has been now over a month and I have yet to hear from the embassy regarding the issuance of my visa. I called but they only told me to wait for their call. The thing is they didn't give me an approximate wating time so I don't know how long I will be in this waiting state. How about you? How long was your waiting time for your DV issuance?

    Thank you!

  7. I finally spoke with someone at the embassy and you were right, Boiler. They will not accept a physical from here, only from their doctors in Cameroon. I asked them if I could submit the results later, and the consular officer said that i could as long as it was before the end of the fiscal year. Thank you again for taking the time to respond!

  8. I mean on the USCIS website it says that for green card applications one can use either USCIS or US Consulate eligible physicians. I emailed the embassy a while ago but nobody responded and I have tried to call without success. Anyway, I will try to call again tomorrow. Thanks for your input, Boiler.

  9. Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the immigration physical. I know that I have to get my physical done by one of the USCIS/ US consulate approved physicians. The thing is my interview is coming up soon and I won't be able to travel back to my country where i have the interview until a couple of days before the interview. I was thinking of just doing my physicals here in US from one of the USCIS physicians and bring the sealed envelop to the interview. I don't know if that will pose a problem? In Cameroon the bureaucratic process takes much longer and I may not have my results ready within a couple of days, whereas doing them here, I will get the results within 2 days. Do you think it is okay if I go ahead and use one of the physicians here and just explain to the US consul on the day of the interview?

    Thank you!

  10. Hello everyone,

My number will be current next month and the KCC has already forwarded my documents to the embassy in Cameroon, which in turn has already assigned me with an interview date. So my question is this: what should I expect during this interview? How should I prepare for it?

    Thank you!

  11. Hello everyone!

I don't know if you remember me from last time, I had the issue of getting my F-1 visa while processing the documents to KCC as a result of a winning DV 2014. I got my F-1 visa approved so now I am back in the US and working on my graduate degree. Last time I contacted KCC they told me to check the visa bulletin starting august 15th. Right now that number for Africa is 81,200 and next month it will be 7,500. My number is 32,XXX so I was wondering what that meant? Am I falling into this months bulletin or not? Also the visa status for Africa for August and September shows "Current" on it. I really want to know so that in case it turns out positive, I can contact USCIS for an adjustment of status.

Thank you all for your help!

  12. So I just called KCC and they said its fine to mail separately as long as I attach all the information (hence the barcode sheet). Thank you again for such quick response! I almost freaked out today haha

Just to make sure, I just had to mail the DSP-122 form, the DS-230 part 1 and 2 and two (2) photographs right?

  13. Hi everyone,

I mailed out my documents to KCC on Monday and realized afterwards that I had forgotten to attach my photos. Do you have any ideas how I can fix this? Should I mail a new set of documents with my photos? I was so sure I had everything in the envelope and looks like I didn't. I did email KCC but have yet to hear from them. They should receive the documents tomorrow.

    Thank you

  14. Thank you guys!

I didn't really have an intent until I saw that I won. My plan has always been to go back to school and then see from there. But now that I have a chance to get a Green Card and thus remain in the US once i'm done with my Masters, I feel like I should give it a go.

@ceadserc I am considering asking for a posponed entry at the university, should I not be able to leave under F-1 visa

Anyway, I think I'll try to apply for the F-1 visa and see if they let me go with it or rejecdt because i won the DV lottery. If i can't get a visa, then I'll just reapply for the F-1 visa and come back under those terms.

    Thanks again for your help!

  15. Also, my number is pretty close to the bottom, it being 32845. If the number above didn't change for Africa, then I should be good regarding the visa, right?

If i decided to take a leap of faith and stay and wait for the interview, how long would it take (approximatively) to get the visa?

And also, any other tips I should be aware when starting this process?

  16. First if you gonna go to the states to do AOS , you are abusing your visa , plus usually doing the consular processing is faster than doing AOS when it comes to the DV program , and also it depends on your case number the lower the better. The DOS will start doing the Interviews for the DV2014 after October 2013, again they will conduct the interviews for the people who has lower case numbers and go up. The interviews will be conducted after October 2013 till September 2014. Finally, sending the documents from your country or from the States to KCC won’t make any difference. But, as I told you before if you plan to do the AOS by travelling to the states using the F1, if they approved it, that’s against the law. Wish you best of luck.

-They will start processing the Dv2014 right now, but the interviews will be started after October. But you have a lot of time to send your papers.

-you can apply for F1 visa since you have I20, but most likely it will get denied because the CO will know you are in the process of getting GC.

    - You will be eligible to do AOS , if you are in the states, you are in status , you have an available Visa number.

    -Explaining the Visa Bulletin,

In this example I will talk about the DV2013 since the DV2014 is not opened yet and you need to wait.

If you go to check the Dv2013 table you will see each region with a number assigned to it

Currently for Africa the number is 43,400 what does that number means,

Any person who was selected for further processing, his region is Africa AND his /her case number is below that number [43400] then he/she has an available visa. And each month the numbers goes up it means more people will be interviewed

Thank you, myafi1985 for your response.

I really don't know what I should do now, because I can't just cancel my trip to US, since i need to begin classes in August. Is there any way to make the process possible or should I just renounce on it and try again during the next application session, this time from the US, so that I can apply for AOS? Or would that still be considered as going against the law? I might not even get picked again, but i'd like to know what my options are.

    Thanks again

  17. Hello everyone!

I was selected for further processing of the Diversity Visa Program for the 2014 fiscal year. I applied from my country of origin (Cameroon, Africa) and was happy to see that my name had been picked among so many other applications! The KCC suggests to file as soon as possible for the paperwork. I would have started it on May 1st, but I am not sure I should. Here is why: I graduated from an US university about a year ago and came back home for a sabbatical year. I am to go back to US in July-August of this year to begin my Masters program. I will be applying for an F-1 visa and I don't think I can apply for an F-1 visa if I have already began on the DV procedure, can I? I have emailed KCC but all they said was that if I was in the US I could just apply for adjustment of status, which of course is not guaranteed since my local CIS office will have to determine if I am elegible for the AOS or not. If I am right, the processing of DV applications will not beging until October of 2013, date at which the fiscal year begins, and end in September of 2014, right? If that's true, then either way my application wouldn't be processed until october?

So the question I am asking is, should I mail the documents to KCC from my home country or should I just wait to already be in the US this summer to do it? Because applying from here, wouldn't that mean that i'll have to come back for my interview at my embassy, granted that KCC assigns me a visa interview date?

Also, when should i begin to check the via bulletin? And what category should I refer to on it?

    Thank you for any advice!
