  1. Hey dwheels76, how can I find out about what comes after my husband arrives, just thinking ahead here, I know that we will need to pay the $165 after he receives his visa, and then wait for his green card to arrive, but what about getting his social security card and is there any other info we need before adjusting status? Sorry for the run on sentence.... smile.png

when you say adjust status, are you talking about removing conditions? If it is removing the condition then it goes like this: If you have been married less than 2 years you will have to apply for removing of condition within the 90 days PRIOR to your green card expires. (What we have been told from our lawyers- and you can read about it too)

  2. I used travelcargo.se it was very convenient. They have different drop off locations around sweden so you don't have to take it up to arlanda yourself unless you are close by. I used to live in orebro and they had a drop of in town, didn't cost any extra.

thank you:) I actually spoke to them as well- very nice people- hope that will work for us. thank you again.

  3. I actually shipped over 10 big moving boxes from Sweden. Didn't cost too much. I did a lot of research and found very price worthy companies. They took care of everything and it was fast. Now I know you are in Norway and the company I used only work from Sweden so that won't help you much but I recommend you to Google and make phone calls!

    Hi Alaska2012.

Could you please provide the information for the company you used to move things from Sweden? Been looking and no luck yet:/

  4. The first three letters are the embassy code. For example, for Canadians, they're assigned a MTL number; MTL standing for Montreal.

And you don't need the BIN anymore, so don't worry about it. You just need the case number and IIN.

Either pressure your attorney to send it or dump him. Otherwise you're going to be waiting awhile, wasting precious time.

Emails can be delayed by several days. Never rely on correspondence from NVC. Unless you're not in any rush, then wait.

This would probably be better asked in your regional forum. I personally just rented a car, put all my belongings inside, and drove across the country. But that's not exactly feasible for someone in Sweden tongue.png Try searching here for Europe: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/ I'm sure there's threads already on methods of moving. Depending on how much stuff there is, some people just pack it all in suitcases and bring it on the plane with them.

THANK YOU SAYLIN - HAHA DRIVING WILL NOT BE AN OPTION NO:-p

  5. OMG OMG OMG WONDERFUL NEWS- GOD BLESS - WISHING YOU ALL OF THE BEST :)

Thank you for the good luck wishes everyone. My iPhone does not allow me to do multi-quotes so i can't thank everyone one by one! So thanking everyone for the love and concern here all at the same time.

And good news, I was on a call with the Immigrant Unit at the Embassy just a few min ago due to the status change on the CEAC website this morning from "Admin Processing" to "Ready." It got me worried---only to find out the Consul approved my visa! To be released by tuesday or wednesday next week and sent to me via our local courier! Yehey! I am sooooo happy I can kiss you all!!!! Hahahaha! Not so bad with my 221g--took only a few days--not the 3 weeks I was expecting. Whew! I can breathe now!

Now my turn to share all the overflowing positive energy there is to share to all of you in this thread and all good VJ members! (((((Resonating!))))) Good luck!!! May all odds be forever in your favor! Wink wink!

  6. Jematt- We called the NVC and asked of our interview date and was told over the phone and asked if they would please email- and it was in email a couple of days later. If I were you, I would call them and ask for update.

I understand you. Thanks for the link. In CEAC, it says to follow instructions as mailed to us by NVC...of course, we have received no instructions. Guess I'd better wait for them to contact us...

  7. wow- thanks for the details. Glad things went well for you- and do not worry about the AOS- a few more days and you will be with your spouse:)

I have copies of everything that NVC received.. but do not have originals.. however I did receive a email from the embassy itself saying they have my file now, but a couple of things I need to bring in originals such as passport..... so I guess if they were missing AOS or anything they would have mentioned!!? hope.

Can't wait to be home with my hubby in February- at least what we expect and pray for.

Thanks dwheels, dance of life, everyone!!! The 221g kind of delayed my bliss, not that it is a problem to me. hahaha! But you know that feeling you were almost at orgasm but it didn't happen?!!!! (Sorry for the "vulgar expression" but we are all adults here! hahaha!)

    The interview was easy!

I was booked at a hotel walking distance from the embassy with 20 inches thick of documents. I gave the embassy a visit the afternoon before my interview the next morning to survey what I need to bring, what I shouldn't bring--their website was saying: no bags, no this and that--BUT I needed those bags!!! In short, I got the info i need by calling the embassy and visiting them. Was able to bring in most. From 20 inches down to only 7 inches of original and photocopies of documents. hahaha!

They asked me a few questions, each interview was about 5 minutes of questioning. It's the waiting that took so long! other interviewees with all docs in place took less than 2 hours at the embassy. Mine was quick at first for the biometrics (5 minutes from the time i sat down in waiting)--then it took me 2 hours waiting for the first interview (there were two interviews by two consuls). I realized the queue for me took so long because they were looking for my AOS. If your papers were all in place, it would be quick. A number of people were done in less than 2 hours.

For the Interview--They asked me basic information about the relationship, me, him, the kids. How I met him--on a camping trip they organized. I was 17 he was 25. Then the WHEN I met him--i couldn't answer. I said, i was 17 then now I am 36...then I started counting with my fingers! I said "1993...1994...???" Then the consul answered for me "1995" Then memories came rushing in, i laughed, she laughed! Then I said "sorry, I am real bad with numbers."

It was the missing AOS that sent me trembling and nervous from the calm and composed I was when i first got to the interview window--geez! I asked her if I was in trouble because of that, she said no. (If she said yes, i would have started ranting. How could NVC lose my documents!) But she said no, so I kept my calm.

Lessons learned for future interviewees--one photocopy of each document you want to bring is fine, no more than one, in this case it saved my life. But at my embassy, they only take-in on file, original documents. If I had a back-up ORIGINAL AOS with me, then that should have sealed my approved visa, but i didn't. After my interview, I went rushing back to my hotel and called my husband and said, "I told you so! You should have listened to me. You should have sent me original docs"

    hahaha! I was venting.

Bottomline, Do not fully trust the rundown of documents on your Interview Appointment Letter/P4. Have the same ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS with you at the interview as much as possible--just to make sure.

On my P4 they said: Financial Evidence sent to Embassy--at the interview, there was NO Financiall Evidence sent. :-( Good thing I had a photocopy with me. But it should have been better if i had the original documents with me.

The Releasing Officer couldn't tell me how long it would take for my visa to be sent to me upon receiving my response to my 221g. I wonder what the timeline is...

  8. oh wow you had your interview already? CONGRATULATIONS- the missing papers sucks, but it will take a few more day. How was the interview?

Hello guys!!!I kind of got approved...but I got a 221g--apparently they lost my AOS somewhere in the process between NVC and my local embassy. Will have to wait for my brother-in-law to send in another AOS with original signature...visa still pending until I provide what's missing...of all people, how could they lose mine?! ggrrrrr! Nevertheless, my husband only sent me scanned copies of my AOS--the embassy accepted it given that I send to them the missing papers.

It wasn't so bad though. I am happy with 221g, still. it still means, I will get approved and they will send me the visa as soon as I get them what they asked for. Was thinking--IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN MAKE NVC be responsible for missing papers--maybe they could find my AOS there or something?

Some glitches, but a little more wait can't hurt. mixed feelings right now...
