  1. Yup. Expect now to wait up to 2 weeks whilst the casefile is taken out of the review section and bundled up to go out to the IV unit, and the IV unit receive it.

Once the IV unit receives it, you can continue on with Immigrant Visa Processing.

How to find out? Call the DoS Hotline (# in my profile, at the bottom), get a human, ask for casefile status, and when you hear 'casefile opened' then the IV unit is ready to continue your immigrant visa processing.

    Good Luck !

Thanks for the information! Is the immigration visa unit in Managua?

  2. Hello all! Im hoping someone can assist me! We are at the NVC stage waiting for AOS & IV to be billed, I previously submitted a expedite request and was told by NVC that they forwarded my request to Managua Embassy/ Cunsulate. Today while trying to sign in to the payment portal it gave me this message, does this mean our expedite request was approved ???

The National Visa Center has forwarded your file to the US Embassy/Consulate where you are applying for an immigrant visa. Any other required fees must now be paid directly at the Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.

Please contact the US Embassy/Consulate if you have any questions. You can find the contact information by consulting this list of US Embassy/Consulate websites.
  3. I want to share my horror story. My case was approved on May 2 for spousal visa. As per Nvc I had to wait 15 business day and surely 15 business day passed by and nothing was on NVC system. I decided to call USCIS after 26days. At first I was told that it will take more time but i demanded that I need answers. After talking to tier 2 officer he came back and told me it was probably sent to wrong location from NBC. I was furious at this point!!! I decided to contact my congressmen and senator. I wrote a letter to them about my problem. Congressmen first and then senator. Congressmen office nice enough to contact USCIS. I had called USCIS yesterday and they told me i should hear something from NBC by june 13. This is ridiculous? Just wondering if anyone else went through same situation?

I feel your pain! My husbands case was approved March 5 on April 4 I called NVC and nothing was in their system. I scanned and emailed my approval notice to NVC. Then called on April 8 to USCIS and the Tier 2 officer was nice enough to put in a service request to NBC which is where my case was approved ( I did become a little emotional with her since im pregnant maybe that helped) she promised me I would receive feedback from them by April 24 which i did not. I was on the phone with them everyday! April 21 I received an email from NVC stating they did not have my case and they would call USCIS to find out its whereabouts. On May 2 i spoke to a tier 2 officer who tried to give me the run around saying NVC had the case and i should call them, I immediately stopped him and mentioned the email I received from NVC, he asked me to hold and after 10 min he said my case was in Los Angeles!!! Therefore he had to put in a new service request for Los Angeles to forward my case! I made an infopass appt with the Los Angeles field office for May 21 and on that day precisely I received another email from NVC confirming that they contacted USCIS and my case was detained in Los Angeles. The gentlemen who assisted me was soooo rude! He couldnt understand why I was there! And I said my case is here and it needs to be at NVC! and he tells me "Well your notice of approval states we sent it to NVC back on March 5 so its there". I felt so lost of hope and started to cry of the fustration! I showed him emails from NVC, and he said well lets start off by calling NVC. He called on speaker and of course got someone immediately in the back offices, and confirmed my case arrived at NVC that same day May 21!! Till this day the Congressmen has not replied to the inquiry I submitted through them :( This has been the most horrible experience just glad its almost over!

  4. Checking in here for June! NVC finally received our case after just about 90days from date on NOA2, Case number has been assigned, DS3032 emailed, expedite request submitted due to error from USCIS of sending case to wrong location. Crossing our fingers for an approval on that!

Also hoping for AOS to be invoiced so AOS is received before June 23! Anyone here have Previous edition of I864?? 09/19/11 edition

  5. Hello,

I have a few questions regarding my husbands case. We are currently waiting on USCIS to send over his case to NVC, I wanted to have all the documents prepped so they can be sent out once the fees are paid.

My story is as follows: For last year 2012 I made well over the poverty guidelines to sponsor my husband, however in November I lost my job and became pregnant while on my trip to Nicaragua to visit him, now that I am back ive had a hard time finding employment. I will fill out an I-864 for him since I am his sponsor even though I do not meet the poverty guidelines. My aunt will co sponsor my husband, she is married but has always filed separately.

Can someone please calirfy a few things for me?

    My questions are-

I am collecting unemployment, should include that on my I-864?

My aunt has 3 children of which she only claims 2 and leaves the 3rd for my uncle to claim, if she fills out the I864 does she need to file my uncle as a joint sponsor? and as for the poverty guidelines does she go based off of the poverty guidelines for a family of 4 (My aunt + her two children she claims+ my husband) whom is the intending immigrant?

Or does she include all 6 ( My aunt, uncle, 3 kids, and my husband)?

My aunt is a LPR is she ok to sponsor my husband?

Sorry for all the questions but I would be ever so grateful to anyone who can clarify these things for me!

  7. Yes, we'll blame it on you being pregnant wink.pnglaughing.gif

Yeah, a lot of people with MSC numbers seem to have been sent to local offices, so it's taking extra long to get to NVC. Just stay in contact with USCIS as often as you wish until they tell you the case has been sent out. Once you've confirmed with at least 3-5 different operators that the case has been indeed sent out, then you start contacting NVC to see if they've received your case. So, yes, once NVC has it and assigns a case number, then request for an expedite.

    Perfect thanks so much!

  8. Have you tried talking to tier 2 rep at USCIS? If yes, Have they created a case request on your behalf?

If not, I would call them and talk to tier 2 rep. and ask them if I-130 was mailed out? Keep in mind, if they havent' they will say they do not have access to that information yet? If they have they should be able to give you exact date when the file left for NVC.

Ok so I am assuming is hasn't, the Tier 2 rep I previously spoke to said he didn't have access to that. GRRRRRRR! Im on hold for a Tier 2 rep right now hoping they can do something for me :(

  9. I think that the NIcaragua Embassy does DS-230and not DS_260. Correct me if Im wrong.

My case was approved on February 15 and didnt got to nvc till April 8. Did your case got processed at a local field office or a service center? Mine was processed at a local office so I got an infopass after a month of wating and talked to them. They help me out by telling me that my case was still there, and that probably was going to be leaving at the beginning of april and it did. So, you might want to schedule an infopass if your case was process at a local field office.

I got my IV bill today and pay for. Tomorrow Im sending the packet. SO EXCITED!!!!!

Im not sure about the DS260 if thats the case then ill be sending DS230.

WOW! I was hoping it would be alot quicker. Im hoping they'll accept my expedite request once NVC receives my case. And what is an info pass? Who did you contact for that?

  10. Hello all!

Ive recieved NOA2 on March 5th and NVC hasnt received anything!! crying.gif

This has been the longest wait ever, USCIS just says to keep waiting, is there anything you guys recommend I ask the USCIS officer to get a clear answer , ive already asked to see when my case was sent out to NVC! Im just lost and dont know what to try anymore, I need my hubby here for the birth of our child!

  11. First off, February was a few months ago tongue.png We're all in the May thread now: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/427843-nvc-filers-may-2013/ wink.png

Was your I-130 approved at a local office? If so, it's unfortunately been taking them awhile (re: a month or so) to just send out the approved petitions to NVC. They seem to be sending them in one huge batch, unlike the two main service centers where they tend to send them in batches, but once a day, not once a month.

The only thing I can advise at this point is to keep at it with USCIS. You need to find out when the case has been sent out, and if it's not been sent yet, demand that it get sent immediately.

Oh, and although pregnancy isn't terms for expedites (unless it's high-risk), since it'll be at least 2 months from NOA2 to NVC received, you can try requesting an expedite (upon a case number being generated) based on USCIS error. I've seen a few people successfully get approved based on these grounds. Although, it will differ by consulate/embassy. Worth a shot wink.png

Hahaha I knew that! That was one of my pregnancy brain moments! oops8rh.gif

So they say since my receipt # starts with MSC that it was filed at the NBC. So just for clarification, you mean to request for my case to be expedited once the NVC receives my case? So I will request that with the NVC right?

Thanks for taking the time to reply
