So it took 1 month for you to take the oath. Not bad. Its been almost 3 weeks and no sign of oath letter.

 

Did your online status change when they scheduled your oath/mailed the oath letter ? For people living outside the NYC, the ceremony is usually conducted by the local county, maybe thats why she said it will be closer to where you live.

 It took exactly 1 month from the interview date. And No i didn't received any updates from the USCIS last time i checked it was still showing that ceremony will be scheduled.

I am actually not complaining as the ceremonies in my county would be scheduled twice a month and i think NYC is much faster so..

Hi , yes.

Sorry for not updated earlier, i was running around like a crazy person, I didn't even see your question.

I had my oath ceremony letter on 9/21 and it was scheduled for 9/29.

It was in the federal Plaza in NYC despite the interviewer lady told me that it would be somewhere closer to where i live.

Anyways i am  a Citizen as of 9/29 and i couldn't be more relieved than i am now.

It was a very very long journey  and this is the end and a new beginning.

If you don't mind me asking, how deep did she go into your first marriage? I was blind sided at my AOS interview with a lot of questions about my first marriage. Not that I have anything to hide but I'm just hoping to have a pleasant experience and not an interrogation this time around.

not too deep at all.. asked about my kids names and my ex's name and if the kids are living with their mother.

and how many times i was out of the country and how long.

Also asked how many times i was married and how many times my current wife got married. that was it.

The only thing that she was interested in proof that we are still living together. as i said tax returns, bills etc.

I can relate your concern about the previous interview you had during the AOS i had a similar experience for my AOS interview. 

This was way better experience for me but again every case is different..

Hi everyone. Just finished my interview in NYC. 

I was recommended for approval. The lady told me that I should receive a letter in couple of weeks for the oath ceremony. 

My appointment was at 8:45 and I arrived to the office a little bit after 8. After a long period of waiting my number was announced little after 10:20. 

The interviewer was super nice and asked me a couple of questions about my address my job and about my current and passed marriage. 

Then she asked me to write a sentence and read a sentence. 

She asked me 6 questions which were

the name of the anthem

ocean on the west coast 

the rule of law

13 stripes of the flag

and one more that I cannot remember now. 

Then she asked me proof of marital life I gave her the tax return papers. The contract for our co-op and the deed. Couple of utility bills  and the joint bank account statements. 

The whole interview took less than 20 mins. 

She didn’t asked the passport photos but I saw the ones that I sent was attached to my file. 

Then as I asked if I need to hand over my green card at the oath ceremony she said yes both old and the new green cards and any other documents that I was given (work permit) should be handed over. 

I hope this would be helpful for someone as I took the advantage of reading the others experiences. 

Last step ahead can’t wait to be done.

Congrats on passing the interview and the oath ceremony. unfortunately not all NY filers as lucky as you.

i pulled up 100 case numbers before mine and there's a lot of people waiting in line for interview while others already completed.

one of these days i'll be calling the call center to figure out if anything is wrong with my case.

Did you file online or by mail? As i am reading if you filed online your case is being processed faster.

i got my finger print appointment letter for 3/3/17. also my noa date is 2/7/17. please update.

After i saw you guys scheduled for fingerprints i checked mine online and saw that i also scheduled for appointment.. maybe we can meet at the USCIS office if they are all at the same day

i sent the package to TX  on the 1st and i am paying with credit card they already processed the payment as of yesterday..

No I didn't have to go the interview. After I got my passport stamped we immediately contacted with our representative and kept in touch until we heard from uscis. 

I wouldn't expect anything different from the regular interviews tho. How did you met,where do you live, what's her/his phone number,family members names etc. 

Finally received the car in production notification 5 months after everyone got approved. Talked and emailed to the representative multiple times. Finally they received an answering Friday  from uscis that an officer had my case.  today received an email from uscis that my card went to the production.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for being absent for a whole. I have a few updates.

After didn't heard back for almost a year I called the uscis to check the status of my case on July 17th. They told me that they are processing august 3rd cases and I'll be hearing from them in a couple of days (my case is 6th) and if don't hear back in two weeks I should call again.

So I didn't hear anything and called back on august 2nd. Asked for a tier 2 got a call later that day stating that they are still working on my case and they are making promises that they cannot keep. The process is taking more than a year now.

On august 5 tho we manage to get an appointment for the 19th for infopass and get my passport stamped for another year but still didn't heard back from my case.

I guess I'll file for my n400 soon to force them to make a decision.
