ainsn,
Congrats! pass my good wishes to your husband. Looks like our cases were moving on a same pace yeh! I picked up my passport today from Dhaka emb. My pick up schedule was 11:30 am but at the gate the security people gave me wrong information and said it is rescheduled to 2 pm, than again, another high rank security officer helped me to get my passport right on time.
Finally going to Florida, via JFK with my mother and wife.
You've started this thread, 'AP Tracker', i am sure it will help other Bangladeshi's to get useful AP related info from this as lot of others helped me in many ways. Great job :-)
Allah Bless.
Oh my gosh! My husband got a phone call on December 1st also! The Embassy said their investigation is complete, the medical is expiring on December 17, and they will issue the visa if my husband can enter the US before then. My husband said he cannot (2 weeks notice is not enough time!) so they told him to submit an updated medical, which he did on Dec 2nd. We'll see what happens. Hopefully the Embassy will give him the visa before the end of this year! InshAllah.

Hey,
My visa was issued on 2nd Dec. Exactly 4 months and 25 days later from my interview. First i got a call from Emb on 1st Dec, they said their extra investigation stuff was completed and as my medical is expiring within 22 days, i need to do it again, but if i can enter US within this period, then re-medical isn't required. I confirmed, i can enter by this time, and then on 2nd Dec they issued my visa and called me again today to pick up my passport.
Feeling Good :-)

That's a Good info, but a big mystery remains what actually they do and dig during the AP period and why there is no timeline!! What is the average AP period for Bangladeshi's !!
There is no form required at the consulate before your interview. You just have to submit them the first page of your interview letter and wait till they call your name to the windows/doors. At the first call, they will take your finger prints and passport and return your original docs and other staffs, and final call will be your real interview with the CO.
If you are lucky, you will get a white token instructing to collect the passport next day by 2pm and If you fall into AP, you will hear some sweet words saying no worries/ Its just a process / we will call you soon bla bla and return home with a blue paper.
Just wanted to share what I learned. I have a friend inside embassy, according to him around 70% of people get AP from Dhaka embassy every month. It depends on the CO there is no specific rules or regulations for AP but they have been advised frequently to check everyone applying as immigrant even if they have slightest doubts no matter how small it seems during interview.
Anyone else know anything about this?
Another question for people who had interview in Dhaka consulate. Do I have to fill out any forms before interview on the interview date? If so where can I find it? I want to prepare myself..
Thanks for your help, hope you all a smooth immigration journey

Aslamualaikum,

Well, i think this is the sheet they call blue sheet! but yeh color wise it is light green, not the exact blue-blue.
In that sheet the CO tick marked in this section:
"Section 221 (g) which prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the immigration and nationality act or regulations issued pursuant thereto. The following remarks apply in your case" - Here the CO sealed the below remarks:
"Administrative Review
We will contact you as soon as we receive the result"at the right bottom you can see "OF-194, 10-2007"
Also i got this in google, source isn't that authentic thou: http://allabout221g.wordpress.com/types/
Do you know if there's any significance behind the color of the 221g sheet? My husband said his is light green, not blue, and on it, they didn't ask for any further documentation.

Let me know if you think there's more information we can add to the list. I modeled it off of Dwheels76's monthly interview thread, so it's pretty simple to edit. Let's update it together as we get approved and more people (hopefully not) get placed in AP. -
One more thing,
You do not have to reproduce any forms that you have submitted to NVC, don't get confused! Everything they have from you at NVC they will forward it all in one file to your local consulate where you will be interviewed.
Hi,
Thanks for your comment. My interview letter says:
''You must bring the following items to the visa interview:
Any original documents the NVC requested that you did not submit (refer to the document list below)
If the physician gives you your medical exam results, bring them to your interview in the envelope sealed
by the medical office.
Two passport photographs measuring 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) with a white background
A valid unexpired passport
Photocopies of all civil documents
A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate
more than one year ago.
Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines
The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not you submitted them to the
NVC.
Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are
still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.''
Looking at the note at the end it seems like I have to reproduce all the forms and documents. I am confused
-
The note in the end means, you may have submitted xerox copy of your civil documents, such as your marriage certificate, birth certificate etc to nvc, Now at the interview you must bring the originals to the consulate. They will return you the originals and keep the copies. OR if you have already submitted the originals to Nvc then just bring copies to the consulate and once again they will return originals and will keep the copies.
Now about the list, its pretty clear in the interview letter (p4) what kinda docs you should bring. Plus, please go through the UAE us embassy website, and see if the consulate have any particular checklist for immigrant visa applicants.
I hope this helps.

Does anyone (specially male) has got visa who had interviewed in January or February 2013?
There were 4 people interviewed prior to my turn, and i saw one guy (Don't know his category of visa) came out with a white token, instructing to collect visa the later day at 2pm! So they are issuing visas, at least sometimes!
I used to think, immigration visa applicants are less in number than the other category applicants, but i guess i'm wrong, the day i was interviewed, those 3 long benches were full of immigration visa applicants ( Most of them were with family members) and were interviewed at one specific window only. All the other windows were calling Non-immigrant applicants for interview. The outer waiting room were also full with B1/B2 and students visa applicants! I think its literally huge work load for them to handle! Just sharing.
-
hmm! Don't know what to say! Looks like its a mandatory process in Dhk emb! Sounds all positive and he had a pretty long time with the CO! Lets wait now till it ends!
-
N Ahmed: Thanks a lot for sharing your positive story! Please tell me how would they contact? i mean by phone or e-mail? or should i just keep checking that case status link? did they keep your passport at the interview?
ainsn: Whats de update???
hellraiser: Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Trying to cope up with the situation, no option left thou
tsukiyomii100: Yeh hopefully. finger crossed! saw your timeline, you guyz probably get a call in aug interview. Gud luck.

I'm the new member of this AP club had interview on July 7th at Dhaka Embassy and they put me on AP. Posted a review in the forum.
Lets wait and see what happens next.

We had our interview on 7th JULY, Sunday at Dhaka US Emb, guess what its an AR/AP
Our Interview scheduled at 7:45 am. We were escorted by a security personnel to the locker, where we put our cellphones, and then scanning area, then a walkway to the final waiting room. Three rows of long benches, and eight numbered doors in that room. We were seated, and just at 7:45 am one lady called from Door # 5 asked all applicants to submit the interview letter. She ripped off the first page and returned the rest and told us to wait until they call us.
After 30 mins of waiting, they started calling one by one to submit the papers. I was called in window #1, A Bangladeshi lady (little grumpy) asked me to hand over my passport and returned my original civil docs. Took my finger prints, Left-Right-two thumps. Asked whats my spouses name- I answered. Then said, go have a seat, we will call you again. I asked, do i have to provide any docs, she replied "NO we have everything we need".
After waiting one hour,We were called at the Window # 7, at around 9:30 am. CO was a white american, very friendly and very quick. He speaks pure Bengali with an amazing Bangla accent, and did not use a single English word! As soon as i entered he started speaking in Bangla, and said " keep your right hand up and take a oath with me bla bla ... " then told me to sign in DS-230 form. While i was doing it, he was typing something and then asked "What does your spouse do in US"- I answered. Next question " Do u have a wedding photograph"- showed.CO: "Congratulations, your immigration visa petition process has been completed but we have some pending work to do and when we are done with it, we will contact you" - Then he hand me over a blue sheet (blue never looked that bad in my life) wrote case number on it, endorsed a seal "Administrative Review- We will contact you as soon as we get the result" under the section 221(g).
Me: Do you need any documents?
CO: No, we have everything in order and we are keeping your passport with us. Please do not worry, Please do not feel bad, We just have some pending work to do, and we will contact you very soon. Have a good Day.
This whole things took only 1-2 mins max, as he was so fast asking and replying.
So, frenz, say something now!

Waiting to have some experience next week :-)

Hi,
My wife also waiting for interview from dhaka consulate . we have recived email from NVC last 14th May . please let us know if anyone recived any from NVC recently with interview date
Hi farhansay,
You can see it in a thread name "July Interviews". Our case completed at 16th May and we received (p4) Interview notification e-mail on 5th June. If your case was completed In May, you should get the mail by now for a july Interview date.
-
Hey congrats !!
But unless I am crazy or you typed wrong ... July 07 is sunday !
Lucas&Lucas,
Yes im kinda crazy now, but i typed it right :-) Sunday is a working day in Bangladesh. We are close on Friday and Saturday. Consulates open from Sunday-Thursday.
Thanks again.
Congratulations. i have updated your dates.
Thanks dwheels76! you are amazing :-)
-
Hi Everyone!
Our case completed on 05-16-2013 and today 06-05-2013 we have received that precious e-mail from NVC. Interview scheduled on 07-07-2013, just 51 days later from Case completion.
Its lucky '7'- Pray for us guys :-D
-
Well i say its a positive interview experience :-)
Hopefully you will get the actual visa soon.
Good luck.
-
mbanner: We had a same situation like yours! Our joint sponsor was self employed and we have showed a letter from his accountant as a proof of self employment. The alternative can be a recently dated business transaction/sales/purchase letter, business licence etc.
Since you are a self employed in profession, you don't need to send any pay stubs or employment certificate, these are applicable in case of a Service holder, if i'm not wrong logically.
We did it that way and it was accepted by NVC :-)
-
I think you have to use form i-864 only. Submit it along with other supporting docs. If you are showing any sort of assets, make sure you are providing proof of that assets, otherwise NVC will send you a checklist again to provide proof.
Hope that helps.
-
Thanks sic2005, mina90 for sharing.
hellraiser: Thanks a lot. Im feeling good now that i signed in to VJ, your experience really helps a lot, thank u once again. I was actually following mina90 and sic2005's timeline above and i thot i would get an email by June-01/02, but according to your theory our case will be transferred to Dhk Emb on May'30th, and chances are to get the mail by 1st/2nd week of June! Well lets see how it works in my case.
and AP, yes i heard about it, really horrible when it takes indefinite time for some people!
We would appreciate any bullet proof interview tips of any sort from you guys :-)

Bdboy2013,
Thanks a lot. My interview date was 7th July. Case status updates were on : 8,9,10,11 July then 23rd Aug, 9th Nov, Dec 1st and Finally in Dec 2nd it was issued. They called me on 1st Dec, and gave me options whether i want to do re-medical and extend my visa expiry date or Moving on to US before my medical expires, which is just 20 days from my visa issuance date. I choose the 2nd option and it was issued the next day.
Today i picked up my passport from Dhaka Embassy, and observed they were issuing a good number of immigrant visa's everyday!! I mean a lot ! in 2 different sessions!
Good Luck to you on your case.
