  1. MovinOn,

It sucks that we have to do whole new medical. It costed me 250 bucks and 2 visits to doctor's office.

I also have EAD renewal pending from more than 2 months and have not heard anything on that and my current EAD is expiring on 27th May. I have raised an expedite request based on Severe financial loss and got a response that they want my Employer to give a letter that it would be a financial loss for me. Really??

Is it that hard to figure that if my current EAD is expiring on 27th and I would not be allowed to work legally then I would suffer from a severe financial loss, if I don't get a new one in time?

I did fax them the evidence for Financial loss but how do I know that it has reached to concerned person. I mean its USCIS so I want to double check that they got the required document in order to expedite it. Do we know how we can find out?

  2. OMG! We FINALLY received the GREAT news just a few minutes ago!

On April 22, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number, and will mail it to the address you gave us.

I can't believe it, he is finally going to receive is greencard after a year and almost two months from our original mailing date! His EAD, AP, and DL are all going to expire on May 7th and I was really worried! I had called the Senator's office today to check with them since I had contacted them over a month and a half ago for assistance. I also had just filled out the form with the Ombudsman a few hours ago to ask for assistance with USCIS as well.

We are so relived and happy! :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

Congrats!!! Your NOA date is before me and I could only imagine the relief you are feeling...Did you guys file for EAD renewal? if yes, how much time it took for you to receive it?

Honestly, I think, I am the oldest member here unless someone is hiding and fed up with the process and decided not to post here..

  3. We have a winner, probably the longest wait for a GC that I have seen on here, although correct me if I am wrong! http://www.visajourney.com/forums/user/164536-suhermes/ Well done USCIS, exceptional service!!!!! :)

Congratulations to them!!!! However, I think they did have a RFE but still they had a long time to wait.

I think, I hold the record in this forum as of now. At this point, I just want my renewal of EAD/AP and they can shove the GC wherever they want!!

  4. Just got email from Ombudsman guys..... Check it out:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your request for assistance. On March 18, 2015, in response to our inquiry, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated that your case is actively being reviewed. At this time, USCIS is unable to provide a specific time frame for resolution of your case. The Ombudsman's Office will continue to coordinate with USCIS Headquarters to resolve your case.

Please be advised that USCIS has 60 days to respond to our inquiry. Any available updates will be forwarded to you. Cases that do not receive an update will continue to be brought to USCIS for resolution.

In the event that you receive new information or experience changed circumstances, please notify us by email at cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov. Please reference 'New/Urgent Inquiry Number XXXXXXXX' in the subject line, and describe in detail your situation.

Thank you for your patience as we work with USCIS to resolve your inquiry.

    Sincerely,

    Carrie Anderson

Ha!! looks like they sent it out as mass communication because I also just received the same email from OMBUDSMAN...I really hope that we will receive something concrete soon..

  5. I cant remember their name but a member from India I think and Plato 2000 and I am sure there are many others and also Nat and Mark is it? Sorry guys if I dont remember your names or timelines, but we have SO many on this thread! Also Movin On is an April 1st filer I think. So yeah quite a few still waiting!

    Perhaps an omen? :)

Yes, I am here waiting for Green Light even after 1 Year and 21 days....At this point, I am ready to say that keep the Conditional GC and give me 10 years GC Next year...

  6. Well it is offical:

    attachicon.gifUntitled.jpg

I could say it's about time, but I've said that already. I could say we are happy, but you know that. I can also tell you that I am still angry. Finally got a call from my Senators office about an hour ago and I told the staffer, "Thanks but no thanks." But I did launch into a major league concern for the many of us who have and continue to wait. This bureacratic nightmare (unrelated to the overall immigration question) must be dealt with...

We are happy and it perked up my recovering wife. Now (as soon the GC is in hand) she can start the petitioning for her adult son...and that will take a LONG time...

Thank you all for listening to my somewhat jaded, cynical and sometimes humerous posts...I am also not leaving. This battle must be fought by all of us until decisions are made in a reasonable period of time...

Congratulations!!! About time you got your approval!! Wonder, what can I do to get my GC produced?? Guess, I will wait and hope that by end of next year, I will get 10 years GC because I am already past 1 year and about 20 days as of now!!

  7. Hats off to that tier 2 officer for being honest!! I think we all figured that out any way. I guess we get mad with the USCIS because they lie to us and fob us off as if we are unimportant. I can't imagine how it must feel to keep having to talk to people like us and explain why the whole system is collapsing and that there are more important visa's than our GC's. However they can't be completely off the hook for it has to be them sending out the case files in the first place and most stagnant at the NBC and if they don't leave how can they be assessed?

Thank you for sharing and I hope you have contacted the OMBUDSMAN, the more they know about what is actually going on the more likely it is to be bought to the attentions of the powers that be, so in future there isn't this wait for others!

Yes, I agree with you that I was impressed with her honesty...I figured that it was Friday 05:30 PM and she must have been tired BS people all week so she finally gave up the truth.... I immediately filed for OMBUDSMAN as soon as i got off the phone...

  8. Called USCIS last week, just before submitting the OMBUDSMAN and got a call after 240 minutes while the waiting time was 70 minutes...The tier 2 lady who spoke to me was one of the honest ones, I guess...She was on phone with me for about 20 minutes and spend a lot of time looking into my case and said that somebody should be working on it because its already well over a year and I can't tell you the reason why it is not approved yet...

She did tell me that Tier 2 are of no use...Doesn't matter which one is on the line, they can't help you because they actually can't see your case progress...She said "Tier 2 officers are helpless and they have to give you something because that's what we are supposed to do, nobody will tell you this because we are not supposed to...The only person who can tell about your case is the same person to whom your case is assigned...We don't have any access to the case progress or why it is not progressing, its upto the IO that how much time your case takes...Some IO are working hard and that's how you see the cases get approved with in months and in some case, you will get our letters which is easier to do...."

Says something about USCIS..isn't it? She did open another SR for me because that's the only thing she could do within her power...

  9. I should point out that I simply filled out that form, I did nothing else in terms of emailing the Ombudsman, and if I remember right it took about a month to hear ANYTHING, I completely forgot I even did it, so to see people contacting them and getting an approval the same week shows they're doing something different (The Ombudsman that is)

I think I need to fill it out too....I ma way beyond my NOA date....So what did you fill when they asked for "Type of Immigration Benefit:"? Did you choose the option which says "Citizenship or Naturalization"?

  10. Congratulations!!! Its about time! Doing my happy dance for you!!! Have a drink for ALL of us this is excellent news!

1 year, 2 days is disgraceful though! Sorry I have to add that bit, but it just sends my blood pressure through the roof, lucky I have always had low blood pressure though isn't it? Else they would be sending me an RFE for a medical!!! :)

Congratulations!!! Another approval!! I am not sure that how I should feel....Feeling of injustice comes on top of my head...

I need to do Ombudsman soon as i can't stand this....

  11. I had the same thing, service request ending in LAC (I live in LA County), but the case was actually in Washington state. Go figure.

Btw, not sure if you're a cricket fan, but I'm going to watch India v Bangladesh on Thursday...you guys are doing really well this World Cup!

Congratulations for your GC....I am from India, I am going to be a cricket fan by default :P

yeah, I will be watching India Vs Bangladesh on Thursday... I am surprised that how they are doing well because I didn't expect them to make in top 2 with the performances they have been giving before World Cup..

  12. Cases languish in FO's for 60+ days before decisions...probably waiting long enough to ding you with an RFE for a medical...

You are one of the great grandparents of the "oldsters" here. It shows to what lengths USCIS will go to drag this out...

    Why? Because they can...

    Decisions in order? Ha!!

I know it wouldn't be a surprise for you but when i enquired in Jan then they told me that it is in Pittsburgh, our local field office and even when i raised the SR, it ended with PIT but the reply came from Santa Ana, CA...Go figure!!

I am just hoping that one day i will get my GC....I am beyond anger and hope because USCIS can suck it out of you with ease!!!

  13. Oh wow, I didn't realize you are about a week past your anniversary wow !! Did you make any service requests?

I had raise an SR a week before my AOS anniversary and i got an email from USCIS, Santa Ana, CA giving the standard reply

"Your petition/application is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition/application."

  14. I'm guessing EVERYTHING is running extra slow over at USCIS. I sent my wife's EAD/AP renewal on 03/06, it was delivered and signed for on 03/09 and I have not received any NOA notifications.

you might want to give them a call....I sent my EAD/AP renewal on 03/05 and they received it on 03/11..I got the NOA notifications on the evening of 03/13 for my EAD/AP both....I got 8 text messages for 2 notices....

However, my I-485 is still pending and i am well past of my AOS anniversary...I have given up the hope of getting it anytime soon..

  15. Sounds like someone just wanted to get you off the phone and make sure you didn't ring again for a while. If 1 tier 2 says one thing and another an entirely different thing, then someone is making it up as they go along! And they can be sued for delaying processes, they aren't above the law. http://www.hackinglawpractice.com/practice_areas/missouri-immigration-delay-lawyer-uscis-lawsuit-over-long-delays.cfm

That's what I thought so as well....Not only off the phone but it appeared to me that She didn't want to file a SR as well....She told me that I have filed 3 SR from October till the date and which delays my case further and doesn't help the situation...According to her, every time i put a SR request they pull the stuff out and then it gets back in the line further back and I am not helping the situation by filing these SRs..

So basically, you sit here and hope that someone will look at your case someday and decide that it has been long enough for us to go through the mental harassment and probably will be kind enough to approve it.

  16. And before I pack up my laptop, how can you be out of status if you don't renew your EAD/AP card? I thought the EAD card was for employment and the AP for travel? I thought applying for AOS which you have done and which is still pending kept you in status? Any one else have a theory on this one? 2 years? Not once have I heard that it takes up to 2 years. I have however heard someone waiting that long and then taking the USCIS to court because of it!

I don't know, beats me!!! I have to say that she was the worst Tier 2, i ever spoke till the date! The way conversation started, I had a feeling that she is not going to be any help because I could sense that she doesn't give a damn what my NOA1 date was as she had a standard set of reply for everything I asked.

  17. That is what the ombudsman is for! 2 years, yeah right, you would be entitled to ROC by then. Someone there also is obviously telling porkie pies, did you get names? I think you need to get hold of a congress person and see what they think about what you were told, then contact the ombudsman and repeat to them what you have just been told. Like we've all said lately they don't care and it seems they enjoy the power that they have to say yay or nay! Shameful!

I don't think that whether you take names or not, it doesn't matter. From what I've read and observed that they are not accountable to anyone whether its Congressman or Senator...

I thought that Government offices in India were bad but now I think its the same. I will give them the credit that at least they treat everyone same when it comes to K1 AOS, they don't give a ####!!!!

  18. Yep shame the USCIS doesn't promote them to first in queue for GC!

I just spoke to a tier 2 officer and I was shocked with the response provided by her...Basically, She told me that if you have received NPIW then your case can actually take up to 2 years and I should renew my EAD/AP card to maintain my legal status in this country and there is nothing they can do because it is pending with USCIS. Also, she mentioned that every case is different and there is nothing they can do if some cases are approved earlier than yours even if your case is 2 year old...I don't buy it but oh well....

She also told me that it doesn't matter which field office it is in and USCIS will take a joint action bases on that and somebody is looking in the case and they are verifying background information. I have been told by a Tier 2 officer 2 weeks earlier than on Feb 9, somebody was looking into my case and they received the information they have been waiting for my case but today i was told that there is nothing like that and nobody was waiting on anything. Talk about confusion among themselves!!!

I am just going to give up on this process and just hope that before I die, my case will be approved by some miracle.

  19. We have now officially passed the one year mark since my husband's AOS NOA1 receipt date (March 5, 2014) and we have yet to receive his greencard. I have filed a service request today to celebrate this wonderful occasion (sarcasm intended)! :bonk:

Wow!!! I thought i was the only one who is suffering with the JUSTIFIED USCIS Services...Hope you will get GC soon! I will be completing my wonderful occasion in another 4 days.
