  1. Hi hopesoon, My interview was quite smooth. Initially I got call on the window where an Indian officer asked me few basic question like, is this ur first marriage? what ur husband does? have u ever applied for an American visa?

she took my passport and gave me one sheet and explained me all marriage based rights and about domestic violence and all(as mine is marriage based visa). she gave me back all the original documents that we hd submitted in NVC. she asked me to wait.

after 20 minutes again my ticket no flashed on the screen, this time i went to the adjacent window where an American lady took my interview. she asked me how we met?

    who arranged our wedding?

    how many guest wr there?

    about his visit to india?

then asked who sends u money?

than she said Congratulation ur visa is approved and u ll get it within a week. she gave me one sheet with my alien no and also explained me that I hv to pay $ 165 before leaving for USA.i finished my interview in 10 minutes. i wnt there at 6:30 and by 8:30 my interview was over. I checked my status just after the interview It was Administrative processing ...

today morning ( after 24 hours) when i checked it it was updated as issued...

Apart from wedding album and his boarding passes she didnt ask more.. No question related to way of communication... she was very sweet and very understanding... before the interview she asked me to read the oath... thats all

Congrats!! Don't worry you will get your passport and visa packet in 2-3 days.

  2. Hi Guys,

    I need advice on this...

I am planning to pay USCIS Immigration Fee before I travel to US. I am little confused and want to know which name I have to enter is it Name mentioned in the New Passport or as per the Old Passport while paying for $165 immigration fee?

USCIS Immigration Fee letter that I received from consulate on my day of interview mention my old passport name.

    Please let me know. Thanks!

  3. He did ask after the interview, but the Consular did not give any information. We have tried calling the Embassy numerous times, but they give us the same answer: the case is still under Administrative Processing, and once it is completed you will be contacted.

They did not say if any documents are missing or needed. We had a couple things to submit at the time of the interview, which my husband gave them. I have asked them again many times if they need anything further then they should tell me and I can send it immediately. But again, they don't say anything. It's really frustrating...

Seems like they want to investigate in details.

  4. my husband filed my i-130 at chicago... it takes almost about 2 months before we receive the receipt number.... and now we are wondering as to what we need to do.. if we need to call the uscis ... but for now we decide to wait for a while.... hopefully he can receive it soon ....thanks for taking time to reply me

Just get receipt number from USCIS that's on NOA2 I-797 Notice of Action letter and start calling NVC to check if they received your file or not?

    Best of Luck!!

  5. my i-130 got approved last september 23, 2013 and it said that they forwarded my case now to the nvc... but until now my husband don't receive yet the hard copy of the approval letter... How long we usually received the approval letter that the USCIS mailed after the approval date? what we need to do now? needed your help... thank you and your help is highly appreciated

You should received approval letter within couple weeks. But your file to get transferred to NVC might take upto 8 weeks but for some people it takes 15 days. It's all depends on which USCIS branch is transferring that file. For example, In my case it took around 1 month for file to be received by NVC but for some other people with similar situation they got their file to NVC within 15 days.

  6. Hey Guys,

it seems that it's a habit of the ppl at the Mumbai Consulate to put cases on Admin Processing. My husband had his interview on March 22, 2013 and STILL no news. I've tried contacting the Congressman, Senators --everything I could think of. I went to India earlier this month to visit my hubby, and I called the Embassy as well in hopes to schedule an appt with someone there. But no luck. They blatantly refused.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm really frustrated with this process now. My husband's case has been pending for 1 year and 7 months now!

Appreciate any info anyone can provide...

    Thanks smile.png

Your husband should have asked why it's under Admin Processing at time of interview. Did anything being missing or documents that they asked you to submit??

  7. It was on the New Delhi embassy page and I also emailed them and asked and got the same answer (1 year validity)

New Delhi US Embassy doesn't have to do anything with Indian Passport Office. This rule have been implemented from last year or so. Contact Customer Service number that you find on Passport office website and asked them. Will get correct information by calling CS not by reading information on US Embassy website because they probably didn't update it...

    Best of Luck!!

  8. Please does anybody has the similar mistake?

Can i correct it at my interview?

I think you have to wait until they release a lock on that document. Contact NVC and asked them if they can able to do anything. Most likely you have to wait though.

Plus, I don't think it will matter a much if you put information for current work because I also forget to put one of my previous job information since it was for very short time. But they did approved my DS-230 at that time..

    Best of Luck!

  9. Thanx Nick, I really need some good luck here for sure.

You can look at other users profile and timeline to get an idea when they received their passport back once they been approved at New Delhi Consulate...

  10. Is there anyone besides my wife and I still waiting for there I-130 to be approved

from January. I have been told by my congressmans office that our file was transferred

to the Atlanta office but I never received a notice from the USCIS saying it had been

transferred. I went to Atlanta on an infopass and talked to an officer he said he would

pull my file and told me to have a seat and wait only to come back 20 minutes later to

say they don't have my file. So does that mean its still at the NBC since I didn't get a notice

from the uscis saying it has been transferred or did the Atlanta office loose my file?

Call USCIS and ask customer rep to transfer you to 2nd tier support. 2nd tier support is mainly immigration officers and they can check more in details. Tell you latest update of your file and where it's currently located. For 2nd tier support, you have to wait long over phone around 30-45 mins so be patience!!

    Best of Luck!!

  12. My husband just called me a few minutes after the interview to tell me the news!

They said it's been approved, and they will call next week to let him know when he can pick up his passport smile.png

Once he can pick it up, it will have the visa stamp, and he can travel right after, correct? smile.png

P.S. Costa Rica members: I will post details of how it went by the weekend!!

BTW, you also want to make sure you guys pay $165 green card fees before he travels to US

  13. Thank you both. I will ask for the barcode sheet then and include a cover letter.

I guess I need to take the little risk of getting my info on their hand if they give it back on interview. I hope the embassy do not, but who knows.

You also need to include last 3 year of tax return/transcript, W-2's, recent paystub, bank statement, employers letter, bank statement and any other income proof...

  14. Hello - Thanks for reading ... can you help? I am the sponser. I so much want to get my

husband her for the holidays! (IR1-CR1 COMPLETED)

I have completed the I-864 Affidavit of Support, my question is where to file (or HOW TO FILE?)

WHERE TO FILE : SEE "special instructions" -

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS : "we recommend downloading the form form our website

and completing it electronically" FIRST: HOW DO I DO THAT?

"Give the completed form and supporting documents to the immigrant you

are ssponsoring to file with the FORM OF-230 OR FORM I-485"

Do I give him a copy of this form

for filing llater. OMG. Do I file this form or does

    he? This is so confusing.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP

    Sharon V

Is your I-130 Application get approved already and send to NVC?

Did you pay fees via CEAC website for I-864?

Here is a form that you need to fill... http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864.pdf

  15. My spouse will have the CR1 interview in Mumbai, India..I saw posts that mention VFS. I do not understand how VFS comes into the picture here. As I understand, on the day of interview, my spouse takes all the necessary documentation along with interview letter and shows up at the US consulate. Is it required to go to VFS office in Mumbai and submit any kind of forms before the interview. I have seen posts where the documents were submitted. Can anyone clarify? Our case is not DCF and is I-130 applied and approved in USA and then processed and transferred to consulate via NVC.

If you already send your originals to NVC then you don't need to submit it to VFS. As yours is CR1/IR1 type, i think you submit it to NVC and not to VFS.

    Best of luck!!

  16. Can I the petitioner ask Apollo Hospital this information? I am not sure if there are same rules as there is here in USA because of hippa?

You can try calling them and provide them with receipt number or payment receipt no. to track file status. I am not sure what they will required inorder to track a file. If beneficiary live close to hospital then it's better to go in person and do an inquiry!!

  17. Hello everyone, one more question.

Our DS-260 (Immigrant Visa Application) is available to be submitted online, does it absolutely have to be submitted by the beneficiary? My wife is in remote part of Nepal where internet is not readily available. So, i was thinking why not I submit the application on her behalf.

If I (the petitioner) submit the application, does it have any adverse impact? Do they tract IP addresses or any other tracking system that would make the application invalid or get rejected during the interview because the application was not submitted by the beneficiary?

You can submit it on behalf of your wife. They won't track IP address or anything like that. Make sure your wife will get a copy of it and knows all information that you put since they ask her during interview.

    Thanks!

  18. I am not sure where to stick this, but here it goes. As of tomorrow its been 45 days since my fiance had his medical done. The Mumbai Consulate said they will not interview him until they receive his medical from Apollo Hospital in Chennai and the consulate will contact my fiance when they receive it. The consulate told my fiance that it takes up to 45 days for them to receive the results of the test he had done at Apollo Hospital. Well our petition expires November 9, 2013. This month is now coming to an end and I been very worried about this. My fiance said he has yet to hear from the consulate. I am beginning to wonder if maybe I need to contact my congressman on this matter. I do know when his second interview scheduled they will move the expiration date back to accommodate for the interview. So I was wondering if I should go ahead and contact my congressman or just fight getting ahold of Mumbai Consulate?

Did you contact Apollo Hospital where he gets his medical done and find out whether they send his report to consulate? If not, try to go there personally and talk to supervisor in charge.

Also ask hospital to provide you a proof of when it's been send and tracking info so you can provide it to consulate inorder to track it down!!
