In my experience (3 EADs in all) my employer was not interested in seeing the NOA. They wanted the actual card so I would have to stop working until I got the new card. This was after I printed and showed them what the USCIS website said. It is the employer's responsibility to track when work documents expire.
-
speaking from prior experience with expired EADs... I was required by my employer to stop working on the day the EAD expired. This was true of each time (3) that I had and EAD renewed. They were not interested in seeing the NOA as proof of renewal. They wanted to see the actual card itself. This can vary by employer depending on how much risk they are willing to take. I am saying all that to say that although you are required legally to stop working. Its really up to the employer to keep track of these things via the I-9.

My hubby (USC) was asked the majority of questions which werent that much anyway. She only asked me where I worked. She asked him his son's birthdate and then she asked about our address which I think she intentionally said the wrong thing just to see if we would correct her which we did. and that was basically all.

'cause when we go to sit on the toilet in a hurry we end up sitting on the cold, nasty under part, or almost falling in the darn thing.
Heh heh... you guys crack me up.But seriously... what's the big deal about putting the seat down? Would someone please explain that to me?

Actually the length of time for followup is not unusual for Balitmore. After my interview I had to wait about 4 months before I got my GC with absolutely no correspondence from them and after I eventually involved my congressman.
-
You will actually receive two pieces of documentation giving permission to re-enter the US and they will both have your picture on it. So it's actually seperate from the approval notice. Good Luck!

Having an NOA showing renewal of EAD will only be relevant for continuing to work if the employer is willing to accept it as proof. Some prefer to wait until the physical card is presented.

i really dont think they are making u a scape goat or targeting you specifically... as said before send in the papers requested.. and accept whatever decision is made in the end. if it is a negative decision there are ways and means of reapplying or asking for a hearing etc...
sjoefl01,Thanks for ur comments, i think that everyone understands the situation of security and etc.
I never objected on "extra questioning" sir and amazing thing is that they haven't. Because they never found problem with my background check, or name check or any other matching.
We appeared for interview and i was never asked about this garbage, as they r not kids sitting there n they don't know about me. If USCIS officer or some one can talk this bullshit to an unconcerened person on my behalf and while sitting before me are smiling n showing no problem?
Then, ask for papers, which they never mentioned, if they were having problem in bona fide relationship, why the immigration officer didn't feel any need to ask for it and confirm it in interview.
What s happening in Pakistan or elsewhere s political game.
If u think that USA is the champion of equality, justice and law for everyone and as i was told that we judge ppl on basis of their their personal character, Then my expectation, not to be made as an "escape goat" is right, right?

good grief you would think they would at least have some sign of the approval somewhere. Why are they bothering with the no interview approvals if they cant even get those right. Good Luck on getting this sorted out.

well the OP has left the stage so the thread was hijacked and is now not even relating to Overstayers experiences *sigh* Any other overstayers brave enough to start the thread anew? it would interesting to see experiences under those circumstances especially since this site is to be used to post *ALL* immigration experiences good, bad and ugly.

I had fingerprints taken at my interview but that couldve been because my AOS bios were taken long before I got my interview. At the interview I signed a signature card and the officer took my index finger prints.

I was an F1 visa holder before I changed status. Once you get married to a US citizen and have intentions of staying in the US it is best to submit AOS papers and apply for advanced parole if you intend to travel outside the US. I do not think that the F1 status is valid after marriage to a USC and with the intention of remaining in the country.

I disagree the way you categorize the STRONG COUNTRY and those people from those STRONG COUNTRY get easier interview than others. I've seen a lot of people from WEAK COUNTRY(following your rule) get quick and easy interview. I don't care where you from, who you are.. but just don't discriminate against people regardless of nationality. The thing is that you are just one of those people to come this country thru your spouse who's a us citizen. Nothing more and nothing less.
I agree.. If you dont have access to approval statistics from different countries then its hard to make such a generalization. I guess the shoe bomber being from a "strong country" he couldve gotten a really easy time at an interview huh? anyway u are entitled to your opinion about "strong" vs "weak" countries.
Congrats on the greencard.

We (my hubby and I) dont wear rings... and it was not an issue when we went to our interview...

When you made an inquiry was it about something not being received from USCIS? thats what the non delivery is about. This is just a reply to an inquiry you would have made about your case. It seems that you sent additional evidence to them and that your case has been scheduled for an interview already.

In my instance I had to completely stop working even though my EAD application was filed way in advance. Once his temporary EAD card expires he is supposed to stop working. Some employers turn a blind eye if you have already submitted an application to have the 1 year card done but it all depends on the employer and the risk they are willing to take.

Nope no stamp... they don't stamp in B'more (thats what I was told) and the office actually said she was going to recommend an approval and the case had to be reviewed by a senior.
-
CHeck my timeline. I was "approved" in July and didnt get my card until November.

Great congrats!!! B'more is pretty good with interviews.

actually.. i was told that if you overstayed then even the presence of the AP will not stop the officer from barring entry back into the US... I would verify that if I were you. I think it says it somewhere on the actual dcoument. It doesnt not guarantee reentry. The decision is still up to the border officer.
