  1. Don't worry, its just a glitch in the system. Here is my story if you're interested:

On July 23rd, I filed a complaint that my NOA2 is overdue.

On July 25th I got electronic NOA2 notification

Around August 7th I find my NVC case # and they tell me that case was already sent to Russia

Around August 9th they come back to me with complaint and say that actually my petition was approved on July 8th, but because of a glitch they never sent out NOA2. So they are sending it now... how timely!

Around August 19th I am given instructions from Moscow about registering for an interview

    August 26th I get another electronic NOA2 ... LOL

Around September 1st I finally get a hardcopy NOA2 (luckily Moscow doesn't require NOA2 copy so I could care less)

So clearly I got my NOA2 from Texas on July 8th, and then it took a month to reach NVC and then move to Russia. All NOA2 notifications were useless =)

  2. I advise against a lawyer. From my personal observation I see more people get RFE if they have a lawyer, so it seems to only make things worse. I also constantly see people saying that they wish they didn't hire a lawyer... You care more about the success of your application than the lawyer. You will more likely do things faster and better. You will triple check everything, while lawyer probably won't. Its may seem complicated to do it yourself, but its really simple if you follow the guides. If you have a question - so easy to search here or even ask. You will get an answer faster than from lawyer.

  3. I'm on the "call back" list for a T2 IO at the moment. ClockWatch2.gif

At least you know what's up, and if you don't get the NoA2 paper 30 days from when they sent your paper out you can start harassing them. laughing.gif

Maybe I'll get the verbal "approval" today too (here's hoping). dry.png

I understand the T2 IOs are busy and under a lot of pressure but they're still Customer Service Reps and should be way more polite. protest6wz.gif

I know. I will never shop with them again, and use other services instead... oh wait =((

  4. Hi,

Our NOA1 was on April 4th, 2013, and we received a notification on July 10, 2013 that our case had been transferred to the local office... but after hours of research it seems that my local office doesn't normally handle such cases? Does anyone have any advice regarding this? How should we feel about this? Thanks in advance!

  5. Hi!!! does someone know if i can ask for a tourist visa while i am waiting the USCIS to give us a respond abour our case??? I am from Colombia and it is difficult sometimes to get a visa although i have been in the US a couple of times even like an au pair, but know i am with my fiance in the K1 visa process and i dont know if i can ask for a tourist visa while we wait for the answer.

    Any help it is appreciate

We were in the same exact situation as you. Fiance has been to US three times (thats how we met) and we were waiting for approval (still waiting...). She went to an interview for B-2 visa and it was denied. However, i still think that its worth trying! It doesn't cost that much to try your luck and there have been many cases where people do get the tourist visa. I think it all depends on the person doing the interview. I think the fast that she is waiting for K-1 means that she will have to come back for an interview to properly immigrate to the US. So just be sure to bring all K-1 paperwork.
