  1. Hello everyone.

My mother arrived her in the US on Jan 16,2014. I was wondering about her SSN and Green card that when to expect to get them in the mail? I thought SSN will arrive about 3 weeks but it has been more than a month still did not get that from the mail. How long until she gets her Green Card? I was just curious on how long to wait for both..

    Thank you.

  2. Finally we have a case complete as of Nov. 1st, it has been a year or close to a year since this process started, many ups and downs ,problem with my mother, lost my dad 5 yrs ago and lost my brother 7 months ago, that is feels like a long journey.

Anyhow finally we are in our home strecth with this process.

Right now, we are still waiting for the interview date, i have few questions..

    1. How long until you know the interview date? Case complete Nov. 1.

2, What do we need to get ready for the interview?

    3. Do we need to make appt at St. Lukes for the medical now or wait until we have a definete date for the interview?

    4. What paper work does my mom needs for the interview?

    Any answers is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

  3. Congratulationsgoofy.gif .

As for my Mom's case i am still waiting for her original documents to get her,she already mailed it to me yesterday from PI, so hopefully soon.. My case has taking this forever because my Mom has to get her BIrth certificate from NSO and have to correct her name and when she got those, have to get her passport as well, on top of those process i went back to the PI for emergency for a couple weeks(lost my brother) so do not have the energy to do extra things as we are mourning.. And now as life goes to normalcy i have been pushing my mom to get everything done, decide and plan what to do back in PI because i am the only family member that she have left other than close relatives. That is why i have not paid IV BILL because of this but is planning to pay next week will just in time for her papers to arrive.

So congrats to those who passed and good luck for those who are still waiting.

  6. Hello guys!

For those who went back in the Philippines for vacation, I want to seek for information for average cost of your vacation. What do you think the average cost for 2 adults and a one-year old kid travelling to Philippines for 2 weeks?

I am trying to save for our 2-weeks vacation. I don't want to overly budget neither under budget. I'm figuring out on how much pocket money I should bring as I don't want to use credit card if possible.

Appreciate any suggestions, tips and info.

  7. Does employment letter states the current salary? also, sanding pay stub is optional. The goal is to prove your current salary, whether by pay stubs or letter.

No need to send two copies of tax transcript. I assume your co-sponsor is your spouse?

Yes both of our employment letter has hourly wages on them and how many hours we are contracted to work and yes my co- sponsor is my husband.

    good.gif

I still included 6 months pay stubs. I followed what was recommended by the VJ Wiki for the NVC.

No need to include 2nd copy of the transcripts for the co-sponsor.

You may want to include a copy of your spouse US passport as proof of his citizenship. That's what I did.

That is a good point for my husband of proof of citizenship.

    Thank you.

  8. Ok i have my packet ready and here is the documents in the AOS Packet.

    -Bar coded cover sheet

    -My cover sheet

-Tax transcript for 2012,2011 and 2010

    -I-864

    -I-864A

    -Employment letter( mine and hubby)

    Question;

Do i need my pay stubs? i thought i do not need to send pay stubs because i have my tax transcipts and employment letter already, but i want to make sure that i have everything ?

Do i need to send tax transcipt for my co-sponsor? We filed jointly so i thought i dont have to send same transcipts since we are married?

    Any responce will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  9. You can print out the cover sheet for your AOS packet from the payment portal. Don't wait for it to appear PAID. Once your packet arrives in NVC it stays in their mail room for a bit. It takes a while for them to review it.

You have until April 15th to file for the 2012 income tax, so NVC doesn't expect that you have filed for that yet. But if you have filed already, go ahead & submit that with the 2011 & 2010 tax transcripts.

Thanks for the quick response, i already printed the bar coded cover sheets, have everything ready except the tax transcipts,i ordered them last week with the 2012,that is why i wondering if i could use 2011,2010 and 2009 if that is perfectly fine because i already have them and ordered them last year. Do i need to send 1040 with tax transcript and W-2 ?

  10. Hi carL♥tRin,

On VJ, I've read that people have done it several ways.

    1. Send email from petitioner's account

    2. Send email from beneficiary's account

    3. Send an email beneficiary or petitioner account and attach a scanned copy of DS-3032 signed by beneficiary

    4. Wait for NVC to send bar-coded DS-3032 form, have beneficiary sign that form, and then send that back via mail or scanned

What I plan to go with # 3, as it is a signed copy by beneficiary as well as it's email so it goes faster. I don't want to take risk with # 1 or 2 and #3 will take too long to get done in our case.

Hi waynelaarni, I've seen taking 10 to 12 days for NVC to accept DS-3032. When did you send yours?

    Champi,

I did sent DS-3032 on Feb 28 at about 1 am and paid AOS bill the same time but it still in progress.

Where are you at in your case now?

  11. my wife a us citizen wants to petition for her unmarried sister with her son 17 years old,she can file 1-130, one or two the us citizen can't petition for sisters son , my wifes nephew ,does she file one 1-130 for both or one 1-130 separeate for each.,and would the son age out. thank you for your reply.

Your wife can petition for her sister but not her son and it takes about 12 yrs waiting, her sister is the one who can petition for her son.

  12. If you look at the flowchart listed in the 1st post of this thread, you'll have better idea of what to do next.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/412212-nvc-filers-february-2013/

In general, you do not need to wait for email/snail-mail to send email about choice of agent. However, if you plan to send an email choice of agent, then you must first provide your and your mother's email address to NVC by calling them (this is assuming that you'll be agent for your mother or she'll be the agent herself). After this is done, you can send email about choice of agent. You'll get email about the fees that needs to be paid for OAS. And once choice of agent is accepted, you'll also get email to pay IV package fees. When the fees are paid, you can print out the bar coded sheet and send your packages along with that bar coded sheet.

Thank you for your input. I was getting ready to formulate my template for choice of agent and when i checked my email i did get emails from NVC, choice of agent and AOS bill so i am happy about it and cannot wait to process this and same w my mom.

  13. im totally confused about one entry to US topic , from philippines to US . my future bride is at cfo now awaiting her and her daughter sticker . i ask fianceevisa people can she land in guam or hawaii with no problem boarding her next flight to mainland US .

they say i'm making abig deal out of this , just buy her and daughter ONE-WAY ticket , thats all . i am not going to be with them for the journey here to US

im even getting confused on simple topic of one way ticket , connecting flights...etc.etc.etc .one way ticket does not mean non stop flight or does it , thats an expensive ticket . when i go to philippines i board a few different planes with a few different layovers , most inexpensive way . MY QUESTION IS ?

can my future bride and child on their way to USA land in guam and then probably land in hawaii still be able to enter mainland USA UNDER THE ONE ENTRY CLAUSE ?

It is a one way entry because Guam and Hawaii is U.S soil, but she is not going throught immigration in either of those states, she is just connecting in those two states, what airport is her point of entry? If for example her point of entry is chicago then that is the time she has to go to immigration and give sealed envelope to the immigration officer.

  14. Hello!

My mom's petition was approved Jan 26,so right now all i have to do is wait til they forward the case to NVC right? While waiting what should i gather?

Please let me understand what to do next after approval. Thank you so much.

  15. Here's the list at the top of my head (this may not be complete as it's midnight here and tired), so I hope others can help you. I'll check back tomorrow.
