Rosa and I met on the internet on November 25 2011. We compared notes of our hopes, desires, needs, likes and dislikes over the next months as our relationship grew. We used email as well as IM's and video as our primary means of communication. We then decided to meet in person, that I would travel to Colombia for a vacation. We met in Bogota and traveled to Santa Marta where we stayed at the Decameron Hotel because we had agreed to visit Santa Marta as the premier choice of retirement communities for us. Then we returned to Bogota so we could introduce me to family and the Colombian culture.
I think Rosa intuitively knew before I did that we were meant to be together. But I also became acutely aware that we were truly in love as our relationship developed seemingly quickly.
I returned to the states and we continued our communications via internet. But there was something missing in my life - Rosa! We again compared our feelings and emotions in many hours of internet video calls and mutually concluded that we must again be together - but this time it must be permanent. We officially announced our engagement on November 25 2012 (yes, via internet!)
We then began the tedious task to collect all the information for the K-1 visa and submitted it on April 12 2013. We have taken these steps slowly and deliberately checking our feelings and thoughts as objectively as possible to make the best decisions for the both of us. Hopefully, we will be re-united soon!
Yes, I know! This is just a fact filled overview! No erotic or mushy filler! Sorry! That is secret!
