UPDATE

Well have still been trying to find out where my package was. After placing many calls to the USPS (worst service I have ever seen. Most of them were useless. Thier most popular response "I can't help you") Well finally after filing 5 reports on Monday I got a call from the supervisor at my local post office. And he told me that it was deliverd on 7/7/13. Even though I checked online the tracking number still does have it not deliverd. I called the USCIS and talked to them to see if they had it, they said it could talke up to 10 days to get into the system, it was not in there yet. they were wonderful to deal with called 2 times and both times they were great. Well I get home today and in my mail was an envelope from USCIS?!?!?!? I open it up and there was a letter saying my package arrive damaged and they can not prosses it. They included what they got in there. Part of the envelope and only about 10% of the paper work and my check. everything was WET! and the ink was smudged. that is how the post office delived it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the Post office LOST IT!!!!! then they DESTROYED IT!!!!!!!!! and went and delivered it like that. I will be going to the post office tomarrow morning(it is right across the street from me) and I will be going ape on whoever is in charge there.(I almost feel bad for them) I AM SOOOO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW.

Reason #1 for copies of everything (means at least you have answers to the questions just have to reprint and resign)

Would I have to get new translations? As I sent the original certified translations in the package. I did makes copies of them, That is $100 I really don't want to have to dish out again. Plus the 2 weeks it took to get it done. There is only one place around here that does Japanese transations.

I mailed my K1 package out on June 18. I sent it priority certified mail. And the postal service LOST IT!!!!! On June 19 the package left the Rochester NY sorting facilty and has not been scaned since. I have spent the last week on the phone with them, either I get someone on the phone that is useless and is of no help at all. Or spend an hour on hold and get "we will look into it". Last person I talked to said I have to wait 30 days then they will consider it lost and will refund the postage. I told them I want the package found not a refund. There is way too much information in that package that I don't want lost out there in who knows where. And having to go though getting a new package togther again. I made copies of everything in the one I sent, But they want all the forms and letters with original signatures on them, so I would have to redo all of those again and send then off to Japan for her to sign and fill out some of it. I am soooooooo pissed off.

Anybody know of any contact numbers for the USPS where I can get in contact with someone that can help? This is turning into a real nightmare!

If I have to send out a 2nd one I will be using FedEx next time. USPS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Jesse mentioned honeymoon. Got THAT bug buzzing around my head...but lots of the cool places that we'd love to go (he wants to road trip to Alaska sometime...awesome but border crossing...), Iceland, even some all inclusive place...all involve border crossings. I mentioned maybe we do something round Cali...and he expressed a desire to go AWAY...And cali would always be around. okay. Hawaii? Lets try doing a very very small ceremony in Hawaii maybe and just sticking around for a few extra days for a moon of honey?

So that's what brought about Hawaii.

And my siblings all shocked..I don't think she realizes there's more to Hawaii than beaches.

We are planing on making a trip to the Philippines in December to visit her family. That will be our honeymoon trip. I will just meet her in Nagoya and we will travel togther from there. I have no doubt that our K-1 won't even be in Tokyo by then. We know that after she gets here it will be quite a while before we will be able to travel anywhere, with getting status changed and settled in and everything else that will need to be done. Honeymoon before the wedding? Why be normal. LOL

Oh it is going to be long. The past 3 weeks I have been getting everything toghther to file and making all the copies. And everyday she has asked "Did you send it yet?" She has no patiance at all. I told her I mailed it today and she asked when will I get the first notice. I said maybe next week. She said "That long!!!!!!". LOL it is going to seem like a long time. I know she will be asking everyday from now untill she is going to the embassy for the interview.

Mailed my K-1 package out today (priority certified mail). Now I guess it is time to sit back and get frustated waiting with everybody else.

Being a Nurse is a good thing, Always plenty of job openings and it pays well. You would think that would be something to brag about.

Just finished getting all my paperwork toghther for the I-129F, and am going to mail it tomarrow. It barely fit in the envolope was over 2 inches thick and it has to wiegh 2-3 pounds. I can't wait to see what the post office wants to mail it. LOL. If you follow all the instuctions you find here there is more than enough information on what to send.

I am born and raised in Buffalo. I have to agree, If you asked for ranch dressing here they would toss you out of the resturant.

OK. Thanks. I was going to just pick out 8-10 photos to send. I have a ton from the last 2 1/2 years. I have made enough trips to Japan in that time I have become an expert in driving on the left side of the road LOL.

I have a question about the pictures for my I-129. All of my pictures are digital. Do I need to go and have prints made at walgreens (or some place like that). Or is it ok to just print them out on my printer and sumit them like that. I have pictures going all the way back to Aug. 2010. the hard part is figuring out which ones I want to send. There are too many to send them all.

The police records are not needed until the interview, you should be waiting till it is closer to that time to get them. The process is taking many people 8 months or longer and the police certificates are only good for a year.

Thanks for that Info. But does anyone know how to get them? For when they are needed.

What is the cost for the medical in Tokyo? my fiancee will be needing to do one in Japan.

Me and my fiancee are starting the k-1 process. I am getting getting some of her documents translated now for the 129 so I can file. the question I have is her police clearance. She is Filipino, but has lived in Japan for the last 20 years. getting the records from japan is easy. Does anyone know how she can get the records from the Philippines without actually going there? We are trying to get everything together as soon as possible to try and make this go smooth.
