probably only you would think that (remembering back a few days ago) jealious?
Jealous I believe is the word. And he would be jealous of what? Share with the whole class!

That sounds about the same as the wait in Ontario for RCMP fingerprint results. Are digital prints available in his area? Those are supposed to process in 72 hours if you can find an RCMP location with the equipment that is actually functioning. Just a thought.
Did not know about the digital prints unless .. do you mean at the Commissaires? We had looked into that originally, but had been told that the difference in processing time was not that drastic .... we will definitely check into it more.
That would be what I would do. Here's the site with more information. There's a location in Vancouver, too. You might not be able to get the prints done by the time he has his interview, but it should be faster.
Exactly the route to take. Worth checking it out if nothing else. Good luck.

Hi
Posted this in the K-1 section, but it was suggested that I post here.
My fiance has a DUI charge from 20 years ago. He was given a criminal record check back from the RCMP (not a police certificate). The record checks says that the individual "may or may not have a criminal record". We have received the court record from that charge. Initially, we had contacted a representative at the national call center and asked what we should do about the charge, if we needed fingerprints, etc. We were told that we did not need fingerprints, that we should follow Packet 3 instructions and obtain the court record. My fiance also consulated an immigration attorney who told him the same thing. Well, on December 7, after talking with others waiting at the medical exam, my fiance decided to doublecheck re: fingerprints needed and contacted the Vancouver consulate. He was told then that he did need fingerprints, so my fiance had them done. We then received an interview date of January 30. I called the consulate to ask what to do if the fingerprints weren't available. I was told that we should not have been told that we HAD to have fingerprints, that requiring fingerprints would be at the discretion of the consular officer. So we decided that we would keep the appointment, go in with all other documentation complete and see what the officer said about needing fingerprints. We were also hoping that we would have the fingerprint results back now. I had gotten some feedback that getting fingerprints had taken others about 6 weeks. Well, the 6 weeks are up, have received nothing and, when my fiance called to check on the fingerprint status, he was told that there is a HUGE backlog now, wait times are in excess of 150 days and they have not even begun processing the December fingerprints yet.
Obviously, we would love for the consulate to approve the visa without having to get the fingerprints. I know that probably will not happen. Is there anything that we can do to help us at the interview on the 30th or to expedite this?

3) Expect 6 months to a year...
Please 6 months isn't anywhere even close to accurate. Look at a year and if you are really lucky it will be processed in and around the 12 month mark.....keep an open mind though....it could just as easy be longer!

Where is David and Karen did they get there's ???????????
It has taken this long for me to sign on.
Thank you all for your interest. The answer is...no. I did not get the visa. I am a mess to say the least. I have typed these few sentences and I am crying again.
I need to file for a waiver. If it is sucessful then the visa is approved. The consular officer seems to think my issue is small potatoes. The timing....anywhere from eight weeks to 12 months. Imagine.
Dunno what else to share. That is the only part of the interview that really matters to me. My visits here will be few in the coming days I'm sure.
Congrats to all that were sucessful in their journey. Best wishes to those of you getting ready to move.

You have nothing to stress about. I can see you being anxious. That is expected. But I think you have all your ducks in a row so to speak. You will do fine. As will ljs.

Thanks to everyone
As I sit here in the hotel warming up from my test walk to the consulate (less than 15 mins from the sheraton in a straight line so can't get lost!) it means a lot. Hopefully everyones wishes will boost my karma.
There are a few little irregularities in our journey, so we hired a lawyer to ease our minds and give us good advice, and on Friday he gave us heart failure when it became clear that since we retained him lo those many months ago, he failed to reread our file and on d day we are scrambling around trying to tie up our loose ends and write addendums.
I am currently a stressed out wreck. I can think straight, sleep or stop worrying about the outcome. Well at least it will be over tommorow, one way or the other.
Will keep you posted. Fingers crossed.
Linda

How long since you have seen your SO?
For me it was the long weekend in Sept....ugh!
This is the second longest in between visits. We generally are lucky enough to see each other I would say about every 6 weeks or so. I am missing my sweetie!!
Lucky for me he will be here tomorrow afternoon!!
