  1. Yes it's just in case he needs to go back home in an emergency, as you are waiting for the Green Card, yjust to let you know it can take from 30 to 90 days to get the EAD & AP

I-131 is for AP(advance parole) so he can travel out of the country while he waits for the i-485(green card) to be approved

K Thank you for clearing that up. Also, do you know if the evidence we have to give in for the AOS is the same that we already gave in for the K1? Or is it like our marriage cert. ?

  2. THANK YOU!

If you file I-485 and I-765 together you don't have to pay the fee for the I-765.
pay the fee for only I-485 which is $1070, biometrics fee included.
Remember send them together in the same envelope

Thank you for your answer. What exactly would the I-131 be for? If he wants to travel out of the country?

Hi the I-485 is for the adjustment of status & the I-765 is for EAD (employment) also there is the I-131 advance parole, if you submit the I-765 & I-131 they are free as you sent them in with the I-485, as for the biometric fee it is included in the AOS fee & it covers the biometrics for all forms that require it.

  3. I'm pretty sure I'm posting this in the wrong section n this question has probably been asked but I need a little clarification.

My then fiancé came over on a k1 and we were married. Now. Does he file for his social security card now or do we have to wait until he does the AOS?

    Thank you in advance.

  4. Right okay thank you. I was just going off of the actual forms, not Vj. I didn't see the letter my fiancé received.

I am trying to tell you that LONDON does not want you to attach any documents, evidence, or passport photos to the form, despite what the form says. Every consulate has their own way of getting to the visa. Follow your consulate rules, not general VJ talk.

This is packet 3... A one page letter http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/page-113#entry6424623

Notice the all caps second to last paragraph saying DO NOT MAIL DOCUMENTS .......

Yes mail forms, but not documents.

  5. I'm looking at the ds-156K form and it says to attach birth cert. , evidence of engagement, evidence of financial support, police cert...

that is what is confusing if we are only supposed to send the forms alone

For London, the DS-156 is not submitted with anything attached. Only the forms listed in your instructions are mailed to the embassy.

    Your instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html
In Step Two, there is a link to the documents you bring in hand to the interview. The Affidavit of Suporrt is broughts to the interview. For a fiancé it is I-134.

This is how it is done in LONDON---
Whoever is going to sponsor does an I-134. Since you don't make enough, then you don't do anything. The person you called a co-sponsor does the form and provides proof of income. It can be anything that proves income. It doesn't even have to be a tax return. Yes, that is correct...in London people are approved with ZERO tax returns. A tax return is a very good proof, but if you provide three (for a k1) as the other poster suggested, they will probably hand back two of them. London also likes employer letters. You can have the sponsor pick two things that prove income, just so there is a backup to the first choice. Pick from--
    -one tax return
    -letter from employer
    -recent pay stubs
    -pension received statement
    -social security received statement
-bank statements showing a lot of money in the bank if not much salary earned
    -anything else that shows income

London would even let your fiancé self-sponsor of he has a lot of money or a source of income that will follow him to the US.

  6. As always thank you Nick...Just to clarify...only our "co-sponsor" has to do the I-134

And other than that form and whatever is attached to it, is there anything else that I have to send to my fiancé?

  7. Thank you

The interview portion is all about him except for your affidavit of support. The instructions are here http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

    For LONDON--

    1) Mail in your 3 application forms and do one online form immediately.Only the forms. No attachments.

    2) or 3) Start gathering your documents that will be taken to the interview. The affidavit of support is part of that. It has to be mailed and received from the US.

    2) or 3) Book a medical exam.

    4) or 5)When you have all those documents in hand, then you can mail the DS-2001 to let them know you have everything.

    4) or 5)Attend a medical exam.

  8. My fiance just received the first letter from the London Embassy after getting our approval.

It states that the following forms must be completed:

DS-230 Part 1, which I am aware that form DS-260 replaces this, and he can complete online.

    2 copies of form DS-156

    DS-156K

    2 Copies of form DS-157

    Checklist DS-2001

And they need to receive the results of the medical before getting an interview appointment.

NOW, my question is.....Are these just forms for him to fill out? Do I need to fill anything out or send the affidavit of support or does that come after these forms are filled out and the medical is completed and we are ready for the interview??

    Thank you in advanced

  9. Got my NOA2 on Jul 28th, still no hard copy. And status still says that it was approved, hasnt changed to "shipped to NVC". I am getting very impatient, I thought it was going to go much faster after the approval.

We got our NOA2 over e-mail on the 28th as well from TSC but we did not get a hard copy either yet. I sope to a Tier2 rep and they notified me last week over e-mail that our case approval date was actually the 26th and that I must allow 30 days from the NOA2 (the 28th) to call them again and then they would send it again.

Besides all of that we did not get transferred to NVC yet neither... sad.png

Ours was the 28th also! Which was a Sunday so I found that pretty odd. From TSC also and I was told the same about not calling back until the 28th of August..
