  1. Hi all, thank you for your help.

The household size including me will be 4 people. I was just a bit confused about this, I had legal advice from an immigration lawyer who had told me that the joint sponsor needed to make around $35K to qualify. So I needed a second opinion because it did not make any sense, since I already checked the USCIS web and new that this person qualified on the %125 guideline, I thought I was crazy, not that I doubt his expertise I just didn't understand. should I follow his advice or I go ahead?

    Any suggestion will be helpful

    Thank you.

  2. I have a question regarding joint sponsorship? my husband a USC is unemployed . we found a joint sponsor that made $33000. He has a household size of three. my question is does he qualify? should we go ahead and file the forms using the 125% guidelines, if not how much does one have to make to qualify as a joint sponsor. Any one with any knowledge on this please help.

  3. He still has to file as a sponsor even if he doesn't make any money. He will always be your primary sponsor, the other person will be a co-sponsor. If he is unemployed he probably isn't required to file taxes. Double check with IRS. If he wasn't required then no, he does not have to file in order to sponsor you, he needs to include a statement of why he didn't file (because he didn't have to, etc.)
