I could not tell you but I haven't had special treatment have to go through the process like everyone else just got luckyCongrats!! Nothing personal but just curious what criteria they use to sort out people for this approval? Looks enough discriminating when you see here poor. bros's and sist's hanging on the long wait with the work, travel and other problems connected to it.
I guess filling in good time and being very strategic on what to send ect ect it helps
I think it helps if you came here on visa like a k1 rather than coming and getting married for immigration purposes maybe
But sorry to say I can't help you
Keep fighting though
Congrats! That was fast!
Yes very fast and thanks

change your timeline by the way
Okay I will get around to it soon

Hello all
So just came back from a wonderful vacation to Florida
To a wonderful surprise in the mail
My brand new 10 year green card
Can't belive how quick it went
Filled in late January got the approval in late April and card was delivered on may 6th so just around 4 months
Over the moon doesn't even come close
Oh and I filed at the CSC if anyone is wondering

As long as your british passport is valid, you will have no problems using it to travel within the United States.
Yeah I have four more years left on it
I just want to make sure I won't have any problems in going
So thanks for the reply

Hello all I asked this question before but to many odd answers
I'm currently half way through the ROC process I recently applied for a new drivers license with my extension letter but here in cali it takes months for a new drivers license to come through the mail
Anyways I'm going to Florida for a family vacation in may for 2 weeks
Am I able to use my British passport without any scrutiny as none of my other id's will be valid at the time
Any help will be much appreciated
Thanks

Going to the dmv tomorrow to try and extend/renew my drivers license i have all the cortect documents so hopefully that goes well and they actually Do the job that's asked
So hopefully it comes in the mail before I travel it saves Hassel of taking passport ect
-
Someone mentioned their Green Card had expired, and possibly the one year extension letter was also expired.
Not me my green card will be expired by like 2 weeks and I have just received my extension letter I'm just hoping the local dmv in Fullerton will renew it when I go in next week and hopefully no issues arise with them and I get it in time to fly
This was the situation I was addressing.

You can always travel within the US with a Passport. Imagine if you didn't live in the US and lived in the UK visiting the US on vacation and needed to travel from California to Florida? You won't have a US Driver's license.
So to answer that 2nd part of your question, no it doesn't look suspect. Many people visiting the US from other countries travel within the US with their passports without consequense everyday. Travel outside the US is a completely different story.
That's okay it's just I know I won't have my 10 year green card in time and might not have my drivers license in time so was hoping my British passport was okay thanks for the response
-
But my passport if from the United kingdom not the United statesYou know what? I always use my passport instead of my driver's license when I fly. In fact, I use my passport whenever anyone asks for ID. I'm still shocked when a clerk doesn't know it's a passport. I have had clerks demand a driver's license - even though my US passport is a "higher" form of ID.
You won't have an issue.

Hello all
A quick question I think I've asked this before but without a knowledgeable answer
Okay here is it be patient with me
Currently going through the ROC process green card expires April as does my drivers license on the same day
I have my extension letter and my biometrics letter also
I'm going to Florida for a family vacation in may I'm planning on renewing my drivers license with extension letter but heard it doesn't always work with the dmv hopefully it does and it comes in time before I fly
So I was wondering if that doesn't work out am I able to fly with my British passport from C.A to F.L or will it look suspect ????
Anyone ever been through this before all help Is appreciated
-
Cheers guys just worrying I won't be able to travel
-
Hey guys just a quick question I will try write it so everyone understands
Okay I'm almost ready to renew my green card that's in April I'm just waiting for the letter to go ahead and file the forms
The problem is that my drivers licence and my green card will be put of date for a few months while processing
I have a family holiday booked to Florida in may of this year that's only a month after expiration
Can I travel using my British passport that's still valid during that time
We should be getting out letter any day to renew so please help I don't want to miss out on this as its a supreme for my wife
-
Your timeline doesn't show AOS and you didn't answer my question about date on green card.
yeah okay my green card expires on 04/16/16
i cant honestly remember my aos timeline its took a good 4 months but cant remember the exact dates had an interview no problems was asked about the cone thing ha ha ha
does that help ?
and do you think it would be an issue getting my 10 year GC even though i got a green card along with having a very minor caution from England 13 years ago
it did not seem to be a problem then but would it now ?
-
WERE JUST GETTING EVERYTHING READY RIGHT NOW SO WERE AHEAD OF THE GAME
AND I DO HAVE COPIES OF MY RECORDS FROM ENGLAND SO THATS GOOD
THATS ALL I NEEDED JUST SEND ALL THE ORGINAL THINGS I DID TO GET MY 2 YEAR GREEN CARD THEN
SWEET DEAL THANKS
AND ONCE AGAIN YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I AM A WORRIER
YOU DONT THINK I WILL RUN INTO ANY PROBLEMS WITH GETTING MY 10 YEAR GREEN CARD DO YOU
I MEAN THEY LET ME IN HERE GAVE ME A VISA AND GREEN CARD YOU DONT THINK THEY WOULD PUNISH ME NOW
DOES THE I75 USE THE PETTY OFFENSE RULE ?
-
Chris what is the date on your greencard? "Resident since ______ "
I don't think it is time to renew yet.
Get your police records from wherever you got them before. You will need them for citizenship application also so don't mail off your only copy this time.
The instructions for the application -- (the word EVER means ever in your whole life)
Criminal History
If you have ever been arrested or detained by any law enforcement officer for any reason, and no charges were filed, submit an original official statement by the arresting agency or applicable court order confirming that no charges were filed.
If you have ever been arrested or detained by any law enforcement officer for any reason, and charges were filed, or if charges were filed against you without an arrest, submit an original or court-certified copy of the complete arrest record and/or disposition for each incident (e.g., dismissal order, conviction record, or acquittal order).
Travel within the U.S. only requires your driver license for photo ID. Showing your greencard will not be required. You won't be passing through immigration control unless you leave the U.S. and return.

fine tooth comb everything seriously everything its a very risky thing to be doing \
really should of adjusted right after marriage hopefully it it was after 90 days after arrival too <<<< your marriage that is \
my friend done the same thing it cost alot in immigration lawyer and just scraped through one misplaced answer then you might have problems
i think you will be okay but please be very careful
not many take too kindly on marriage from VWP
-
i came on a k1 and applied before marriage just wait 10 days after arrival take your i-94 form your passport with visa inside they ask you for a marriage cert but not needed you can apply when ever you want
-
can apply for a ss card when you get married take your marriage license i94 and visa and they can process it you dont need anything else than that i got mine 2 days after we were married before we even filled our aos forms
-
and here I am yes there is a chance im perect proof of this I was so worried about something just as minor the guy asked me about it I told him and his words were ohhh very minor thats nothing to worry about approved me now living in CA with my wife and aos is being done soooo keep faith but be preparedI doubt they will care about something that happened when you were 14. There was a bloke on here "chrisclassic" who was worried to death about something similar, he got his K1 no problem, they just said we don't care about that.
-
I thought the only requirement was to be married within in 90 days so technically your fine it correct me if im wrong
Can't believe it ROC
