  1. Yes, you should write an email to the consulate and tell them that you still want your case to be active.

I realize that but I was never given any notice in the first place. I have been in contact with the consulate several times in the past year so they should realize that I am interested in continuing witht his case, right? I have contacted my senator to contact them on my behalf concerning this but I guess I will begin writting a letter as well.

  2. It says "Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this visa petition."

    Contact your U.S. consulate.

I need help as soon as possible. My husband's case has been in AP for now exactly one year. I was checking the CEAC website and the status has changed from Administrative Processing to Expiring Soon. The message below is as follows:

Section 203(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that your registration be canceled and any petition approved on your behalf canceled, if you do not apply for your immigrant visa within one year of being advised to do so.

You were advised of this requirement over 1 year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your application for a visa has been canceled and any petition approved on your behalf has also been canceled.

Your application may be reinstated and any petition revalidated if, within one year, you can establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this visa petition.

What am I supposed to do. I nor my husband have been contacted regarding this at all. He was not given any information about this during of after his interview.

    Please help!!!

  3. in your case you should be receiving your visa/passport in a few days.

MY STATUS ON CEAC SHOWS ISSUED BUT BELOW THAT THEY ARE SAYING CASE UNDER NECESSARY ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR PASSPORT THROUGH LOOMIS AFTER COMPLETION OF THIS PROCESS

DURING THE INTERVIEW AT MONTREAL on MAY 24,2013 THEY DON'T GIVE ME ANY 221G FORM OR ANYTHING AND THE INTERVIEW OFFICER TOOK MY PASSPORT AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL SEND IT IN FEW DAYS.

Any one have any idea about this I am recently reading horrifying stories about ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING.... I AM BORN IN INDIA AND PRESENTLY LIVING IN CANADA(DOES IT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE). Thank you all and best of luck for everyone...

  4. It is difficult to predict the length of time for AP.

For some, it would be only a few days.

For many, it was typically some weeks.

For some, it would be a few months.

For a few, it would be a few years.

The bottom line is, MTL is working on the AP cases on the daily basis. There are probably hundreds of AP cases so far you can imagine how busy the AP officers are working.

Most of the AP cases, to me, will end up with "Issued".

DENIAL is usually given out at the interview.

So in a way, AP is not a bad thing, since it basically means guaranteed "approval". It just matters that how much time it'll take and how complicated each case is.

also the only other case i have to compare to is my husband's parents . they were naturalized Canadians.

    hubby is Canadian born.

the two of them went thru AP in 2011 when they finally got their greencard.

their AP was done in 9 weeks.

now i'm an idiot but how do 2 ppl get 'checked' and all that jazz and one person takes 20 some week?

i know it's because of his name, but still. i really wish he had another name lol.

he tells me he doesn't want me to change my last name and says he should change his to my last name because we might have less change of being discriminated against in the future lol. so sad.

ugh. anyways, i'm gonna be quiet now lol.

  5. I guess Sarah at DOS loves everyone of us. Sarah speaks with patience and kindness and you can feel she is different than other representatives.

I think you should be very close now. If you do get a hold of Sarah, she will tell you exactly where you are, most likely.

I am in AP for almost 2 months now, still waiting but Sarah said it should be any day now. My husband's visa has been issued and he already picked up his passport with immigrant visa. His wait time was 45 days. His visa was issued a week ago.

My husband called DOS very often, everyday. Some times, a few times a day.

Sarah - can i say i love you? lol

i've been furisouly trying to find some way to track all the AP cases, but i can't seem to figure it out.

and most of them are not from Canada, so I haven't had much headway.

i feel like a stalker lol

anyways, as Nabdelwa said - the only time we had a date change was when there had been an inquiry from us or senator.

it still says AP, but it was encouraging that a date changed without us doing anything.

that was May 13th and then again on May 14th. nothing else yet.

i'm just going to be delusional and pretend that it's a good sign, but your words def encourage me! sometimes it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

may I ask if you are in AP yourself and for how long?

best of luck for all of us!!!

  6. nabdelwa, on the other note, i realized the dos inquiry line is not accurate except Sarah's information. She is helpful, patient, professional and thoughtful. She is an amazing person to speak to. When you get anxious and nervous, just to hear her voice will calm you down so much. She also offers the best quality of service and the great deal of the information on where your case is at and how soon you will be able to get out of it.

Thanks Sarah for the information. I think AP varies based on individual cases. Hopefully our cases will be approved soon

I am so confused about the status change, in my case it changes every time an inquiry is submitted to the consulate. I talked to a DOS rep. and she said that they only update the status every time they answer an email.

    Mehr, any updates yet?

  7. I have been tracking 50 AP cases in the last few weeks, and there are 10 cases approved in the last two weeks. It is great news and hopefully all of APers get out of AP sooner than later.

A positive indication of approval is that your status is changing frequently, every few days.

Sarah at DOS has been excellent on updating your status. I have talked to 20+ representatives. She is the only one who can tell me what is really going on. All other representatives have only one phrase "still under AP, call back later, we will be happy to check for you again."

  8. It seems that 3D is not covered by the health insurance.

Those I assume are not covered by healthcare. I got a brochure with the following prices for 3D:

    30 mins ultrasound session
    Optional gender assessment
    Visualizing baby's heartbeat
Keepsake folder (DVD, CD with images, 2 4x6 printed photos)
Optional web hosting for two months
    $199 CAD

    20 mins ultrasound session
    Optional gender assessment
    Visualizing baby's heartbeat
Keepsake folder (CD with images, 2 4x6 printed photos)
Optional web hosting for two months
    $179 CAD

    10 mins ultrasound session
    Visualizing baby's heartbeat
    1 4x6 printed photo
    $99

Yikes, that's very expensive! I haven't decided whether I should do 3D or do the old fashion one.

  9. Thanks for your reply. My husband applied under E1 category (employment based, he is the principal applicant). We are both Canadian citizens and the baby will be born in Canada too. I am the dependent/spouse applicant. What is USC and what is CRBA? Sorry to bug you.

The child would need an immigrant visa too, unless his father is a USC. In that case, you would need to file CRBA.

What kind of IV do you have?

  10. Hi all,

I did a lot of research, but only found that to cross Canada-US border by land, the infant needs a Canadian birth certificate. I am expected to receive the immigrant visa soon (hopefully in two weeks, by June 15). The baby will be born in late June (around June 25). I am planning to immigrate to the U.S. around July 15th. The infant will be about 3 weeks old.

In this case, what paper work should I do for him in order to bring him along with me?

Thank you very much for your attention and I am hoping to receive some inputs from you.

    Happy Victoria's Day weekend!

  11. Congrats, yours might be one of the fastest APs....

Hi all...Just wanted to give you hope out there cuz I know it can be such a scary time. When my wife interviewed April 8th, 2013 for CR1 she was told everything went well but they needed to update from here tb treatment at Lukes...So she was given a 221G and was told dont worry it wont be long...Thats when the fear started. I was thinking why 221G...we did everything right...even did 6 months treatment at st Lukes...what could it be now. Well I checked the website today and the visa was issued April 17th...so only 9 days in admin processing...so have hope if you see that...cuz when I read people waited months sometimes...but for us only 9 days.

  12. Hi everyone,

I am hoping I am posting in the right board.

My I-140 EB1a self-petion was approved last year and I was wondering whether I can enter the U.S. on a B2 visitor visa and send I-485 while I am in the U.S. Is it legal?

After I sent I-485, should I stay in the U.S. until it gets approved? Can I leave and re-enter?

Thank you for your inputs! Best of luck with all your endeavors!

  13. if no fingerprint done, will take roughly 1-3 days, it is a name check and there is form at rcmp designed for immigration/visa purposes.

    Hello

Just trying to get an idea how long it took to get the Canadian Police Certificate? I know the RCMP website states 18 weeks but was just wondering if it would be sooner. Let me know if you had any experience. Thanks much.

this is fast, what magic did you use? The staff at RCMP was nice and we were very luck to get it the next day.

But for 10 minutes, wow! That was quick, how did you do it?

Oh goodness. I went to the RCMP and recieved my certificate within 10 minutes. I have never been in trouble though so didn't require fingerprints.

  14. Did you send the requested documents to the Consulate yet?

My fiancee had her interview today in Consulate of US in Casablanca Morocco, she told me that she had good interview, and she answered all the questions. she was interviewed by the blonde lady. she said that she was nice and respectful. at the end she give her paper saying 221 g and, she asked her to bring another celibacy certificate and it's translation, because the one that she submit had an error in the date instead of putting 2013, they put 2012. But when I check the status of the visa online in the state department website it showed Administrative Processing which I think more serious then just missing a certificate, because I read a lot of horror stories at VJ about this AP, please anyone explain to me this situation, Plz help.

  15. should be on the way

how long did you wait while you were on AP?

after many updates my case status change ap to ready and thn next day status issued from 3rd april 2013 it still saying.plus also comin tht on americanexpress website tht application has beed sent to kiwan. when I call acmerican express thy says we don't hav ur passport yet, next day 8 april I call Dos she said u will recive ur passport soon.but today 9 april I call again Dos he said ur case is still in ap.allthow my case status is still showing issued and printed visa. I told him about case status and American express he said its website issue.

I m confused wat is goin on who is telin truth the embassy or thy lady .

anybody hav any idea or what should I do? or what is goin on

  16. Talk to your immigration lawyer, and hopefully your application will be smooth.

My husband was denied a U.S. visa under 212a2C. According to the officer, he was not eligible for a pardon or for an appeal. We are certain that the officer's decision was incorrect as to her "suspicion" for the denial. A few weekdays after the denial, my husband was called by the clinic to re-do a drug test. This is the 2nd surprise drug test he has to do after the initial check-up but the first one after the interview. Undoubtedly, my husband does not do drugs. The reason for the denial is not for drug use, it’s for suspicion of being involved with drug trafficking. My husband was wrongly accused of a crime and found not guilty. The DOS website states that the visa was refused. I called the embassy to become informed that the visa was not refused and it is still open and to call back in 6 weeks when the embassy receives the results.

I contacted a lawyer who finds this scenario odd. I will see him again this Thursday. He advised me to file a FOIA to request my information. Any advice??/

  17. good luck!

    Hey one, hopefully, final question!

We have my k1 interview on Monday in Vancouver.

Do we need to come to the interview with the address of where to send my visa, or should that be something they have on file? And also, where will i be able to track that visa/passport prior to receiving it?

    Thanks

    SO excited!

  18. 1. Extra work the consular personnel are doing on the visa application. It is a complicated question that may be hard to find a short answer.

    2. Depends. Maybe a few weeks for some very lucky ones. For most of the applicants, probably several months. In rare cases, over 10 years.

    3. It means pending. When the AP is done, they will make a decision.

1- what is the AP "ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING "? and why they put us in ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING ?

2- how long it takes cuz i have heard it takes months ?

3-when a person is in ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING does it mean he was approved or what ? he will get his visa soon or what ?
