  1. Yesterday I got a letter saying my petition to remove the conditions on my GC was approved and I'm now a lawful resident of the US (yay!). Further down the page it says not to leave the US without consulting my local USCIS office until my new GC arrives. I am currently out of the country, visiting family, and my husband opened the letter and sent me a picture. I was planning on staying here with my family for another month or so, but am able to return to the US ASAP if necessary...

Any advice? Do I hope my new GC arrives and have my husband overnight it to me here? Do I try to re-enter the US without it? Anyone else been here before?

    Thanks!

  2. Will my change of address change my AOS processing time? I moved within 5 mi of my original address, so my local processing office has not changed.

Also, when checking my status on uscis, it had been in 'Acceptance' for 5 months, until my change of address was received and then moved into 'Initial Review' (where it is now).. is this normal?

  3. I filed for a K-1 based AOS (form I-485) back in February. It was received by the National Benefits Centre (and is still in Acceptance online, but that's another question...), but when trying to figure out a timeline, MSC isn't an option.

My local CIS office is Memphis, TN... should I be looking at their stats/general timeline? Or is there somewhere else I can look? I'm just looking for a general idea of how long I should expect to wait, I know each case is different...

    Thanks!

  4. I've filed for I-485 and I-765, both sent together to the Chicago Lockbox. I live in Little Rock, AR, and went for biometrics to the Memphis office.

Question: Assuming I don't end up moving throughout the application/waiting process, is the office I have my biometrics taken at going to be the office that processes my application?

    Thanks!
