  1. Yes I agree! Crossing the boarder I didnt tell them everything and got blasted for 4hrs. Eventually, they slapped me on the wrist and told me to be patient and they let me go across as long as I came back. Its been 5 months and I crossed once and the POE officer told me just to be patient and I showed him all my documents as long as I was coming back to Canada. We filed a whole report and everything. Will this affect my application? Everything has been received just waiting on an interview date.

  2. I was born in Laos at home and my mom does not have a birth certificate for me. I emailed the Lao embassy in Canada and they are advising me to get a lawyer on my behalf to contact Lao Embassy to issue a birth certificate. Is this necessary?

  3. Hello everyone,

Ok, I called NVC and they filed my case # on Friday and I'm just finding out today!!! So they told me they are getting the package to be sent out today. I am super excited!!!!

Be proactive with NVC to speed up the things, rather than reactive!

    1) After receiving the case from the USCIS, NVC assigns a case# (NVC Case#)

    2) Call NVC at 603-334-0700 to get NVC Case#, to provide both the petitioner and beneficiary email ids and to get IIN (Invoice Identification Number)

    3) Email DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) by the beneficiary to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov making the U.S petitioner as the agent (Email format: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form) ---- IS THIS STEP NECESSARY IF I ALREADY RECEIVED THE INFO BY PHONE? PLEASE ADVISE :)

The next step is making the payment? Yes?

  4. Ok, I called NV today to check the status. They have received my file but nothing was entered into the computer so I don't have a case number yet. I have a few questions:

    1) how long does this process usually take?

    2) will the case number etc be available online so I can complete everything and send it from the US? Or will it be sent to me in Canada?

    3) would it be safe for me to visit my husband in the US while I'm waiting?

Thanks again everyone for all your help and support.
