  1. that makes me feel better that I am not the only one. You can obtain a pin# by calling the number below, but they will charge you $12, which is good for 5 calls to CIVA. When I called a man answered and asked me for my phone number so he could call me back. Then he asked for my PTP# and the $12 payment. then I called the embassy CIVA 877-917-2482 and gave the pin# and they asked what I would like to know. they were no help either. They told me they could not email it and I had to wait for the phsical copy in the mail. I even explained that some people do get it by email and that did no good either. So I am just wating too. Wouldnt it be cheaper to email? so wierd to me. I'll email this to your personal email too.

Once your petition is transferred to Haiti, call CIVA:
    In Haiti at: 509-3859-9524 /509-859-9564
From the United States at: 1-866-900-7643
From Monday to Friday: 8h00 AM to 4h00 PM

  2. I am having trouble getting the 3.5 packet from the US Embassy in Haiti.

They have had my approved i-129f since May 20th (the NVC sent May 14th)

I have emailed like 4 times in the past two weeks and called CIVA who told me the mailed the packet on 5/22 and they went on to say that they could not email it and I would have to wait for the mailed copy.

I hear people get a response through email in a few days and receive it by mail so I am confused and a a little worried on why they just cant email it and why its taking so long to receive in the mail. They said 2 weeks, but its been well over 2 weeks.

Anybody with the same experience? any advice? Im so frustrated. cray5ol.gif lol

  3. I emailed the embassy in haiti 3 times for the email of packet 3. I called CIVA and they told me I could not have it emailed and I would have to wait for the mailed copy, which they said they mailed on may 22nd. I'm concerned that its taking this long. They received my k1 application it bothers me because it seems everyone else easily gets it my email.

What am I doing wrong here? :o (

  4. There's nothing wrong with trying. But you might get a better luck by calling everyday to point the service center to the auto-expedite notice they have online for Haiti: see here.

But keep in mind that you many not get it. Called for a couple months and was not granted one. But in the end, it worked out perfectly. 8 months and our approval was on Feb 14 :)

thank you so much for the link. I requested the expedite this morning and they sent me an email earlier this eveneing saying my request was denied, but I will call them again and request the expedite. I really appreciate you responding congratualtions on your visa approval.

  5. ^^THIS. So true... So be careful. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to speed up the process so much? Do you have a deadline in the States for something important? Also, I don't think they would consider 750 as extreme loss.

Well, there is really no immediate need. I'm just being impatient. I financial support my fiance in Haiti, so the longer he stays the more my expenses. I can prove that I make 120% of the poverty amount, so that it not a problem. It's just maintaining two households is more costly.

I read of someone being approved due to the petitioner's vacation time at work that would be lost if not taken before the end of the year, which they took off the time to attend the interview.

so, I thought that maybe they would approve if I am incurring extra cost by renewing my lease for our apartment in Haiti.

I know its stretching it a bit, but I thought it may not hurt to ask.

  6. Be careful in using financial loss as a reason to expedite, it may come back to bite you when you need to prove you have enough income to support your Fiance in order to have the K1 approved. There is a long wait for this visa, very long in terms of emotional ups and downs while you wait, jumping the line with an expedite request may not be the best idea. Maybe just plan to visit each other often while you wait...good luck

Ok, that makes sense! Thank you for the advice! :D

Your petition will probably be approved within 5 weeks, you are Haitian.

The expedite for Haitians is not longer in effect to my knowledge.

  7. I am considering filing an expedite request for my I-129F. (filed March 25th, 2013)

I did a little research and found that "financial loss" could be a reason.

So, I am trying to think of a legitimate financial loss reason and all I could think of is that my Fiance and I have an apartment together in Haiti and our lease is up on June 30, 2013. If we have to renew the lease that would be an additional expense of $750 USD.

Does anyone think this would qualify? I can provide a signed lease agreement with the landlords signature and contact info and myself and my fiances signature.

    Thanks,

    Kiki

  8. You can imagine my surprise when I got the text message at 10:30 am saying we got approved!!! First of all I thought for sure we'd get an RFE because I didn't said any pictures of my passport stamps... Also I called VSC yesterday and they told me to call back in a month because they weren't processing anything beyond September 3!!!!

This is good hope for VSC for my fellow VSC filers/ October filers!!!:)

Praise God! I just got an email for my NOA1 and my application is at the VSC too! Woo Hoo.

:wow: 10 Years girl! I thought my 3 years was alot. :D

It feels like forever! At first I was going to move to Haiti, but we decided Florida would be a better place for us starting out. I go to Haiti every 3 months to see him and I stay for about 3-4 months at a time. But now that I have a great full-time job that I love and I can only stay for 1-2 weeks at a time when I visit. I can't wait for hime to come here and experience another side of my life in the US. ya know!

  11. If your check was cashed, then everything is ok..you should receive your NOA1 in the next days :)

    Good luck! :star:

Thank you so much for replying so quickly! I am sooo excited. I have been saving info for about 2 years now and took about a month of going over my application again and again, so I was really anxious to know if everything was accepted.

My only mistake, which I realized too late, was that I highlighted a few things and used blue ink for signatures on some of the forms. I also used white-out on one of the forms. So, I guess they still were able to scan everything properly.

    Thanks again! ;o)

  12. I sent my I-129F package to the USCIS facility in Lewisville, TX 2-DAY UPS last Friday, March 22nd.

It was delivered by UPS on Monday, March 25th and I just checked my bank account this morning (March 28th)and the check was cashed.

Does this mean that they accepted my application? (which was 187 pages long by the way)

My fiance and I have been together for 3 years and I sent everything I had, western union receipts, phone records, cell phone top up receipts, borading passes, etc. lol ;o)

He is in Port-au-prince, Haiti. I'm sooooo anxious, I thought I would use some of this love energy to post and share my experience with all of you and learn about your experiences.

May God bless the efforts of us all in our journeys. ;o)
