From previous conversation, it seems that the EAD would remove restrictions on the R-1 which would then leave me open to pursuing other employment options and not be tied to my current employer. Is that right?

I was just worried if so, if that meant I had to stay in my current employment throughout the duration of the AOS process.

R-1. Expires in July.

I-360 approved for Special Immigrant Religious Worker in Jan this year. Only filed now as I had to travel and no guarantee I'd get I-131 in time.

My I-485 and I-765 have arrived at the California Service Center and the I-765 is in initial review.

I was checking the processing times for the I-485 and it is averaging 23 months. Is that true?

I have a couple of other questions but that depends on the answer to the above!

Should they be fairly snappy in sending the RFE to me? And that shouldn't affect the I-485 right?

Just realized I might have made a mistake when sending my I-765

I sent two passport pics in the package but they were pertaining to the I-485. Was I supposed to send two additional photos?

Filling in my I-485. I am currently in the US on a non immigrant R-1 but my I-360 was approved for special immigrant religious worker.

I was reading the instructions for filling out the form. For part 2, it seems to make sense for me to mark box (a) but I think from reading the instructions I should mark box (h). Any thoughts?

I-765

Am I seeking permission to accept employment OR renewing permission to accept employment?

Is the EAD exclusively for immigrant visas as opposed to non-immigrant visas? I am confused as to what needs to be checked.

Likewise, I am confused if I have applied for employment authorization before? If I have, is the USCIS office London?

Thanks for info on I-765. I will file it. However, I am unsure of what category I fall under since I do already have authorization to work with my current R-1. Any hints?

I am unsure whether I need to file I-765 with my I-485.

I am currently in the USA on an R-1 visa that expires in July thus I am currently authorized to work. I received my approval for an special immigrant visa religious worker.

I am in the process of filing for AOS but want to make sure I cover everything I need to when I send my packet to USCIS.

Can I file the I-765 now or would it be futile until my R-1 expires?

p.s - my UK passport expires in January 2014. Do I need to get a new passport and then send it to get a visa? SO CONFUSED!

I am collating all necessary paperwork for my AOS and am about to go get my I-693 completed and am a little confused.

- Do I need to have proof of a current physical?

- Is there a difference between "completing paperwork" and just "signing off" as a couple of places asked.

It's all just confusing!
