  1. Hello,

I am from Ukraine. Since I received my citizenship past November, I can try to bring my parents here.

I started working on the form online for my mom.

This question puzzled me: "At which U.S. Embassy or Consulate location will the beneficiary apply for an immigrant visa?

    Country: .....

    City or town:...

    Province:....

I am confused what to put there.

#1 There is a war in Ukraine and US Embassy is closed in Kiev.

#2 Should I just put country, and town where my parents reside at this moment (in Ukraine)?

#3 Or I should put nearest country where US Embassy still work (for example Romania or Poland)?

Please help me. I had tried to call them but there is no human to talk to.

  2. Hello,

I had my interview on October 19ht. Next day, I saw my case status updated as Oat ceremony is scheduled.

I can review letter on the portal. The ceremony is scheduled on November 3rd.

This Monday the official letter/invite should have came by mail but it did not arrive. It could be lost in mail or something. Even it was in my preview email form USPS.

So what should I do now? Should I just print a letter from portal and go to ceremony next week?

I have tried to file missing notice request on USCIS website, but they will not get back to me till Nov 18, which is way pass my ceremony day.

Ok in that case, not living with your spouse is not an issue (it is an issue, a big issue, if you apply based on marriage 3 year rule). They may ask you some questions about the marriage to establish that the initial green card was obtained in good faith, but it won’t be an interrogation.

Thank you. So should I bring any supporting documents just like I did it for both green cards?

Did you apply under the 3 year rule or the 5 year rule? It’s not clear from your post or heading. The answer depends on that. (It sounds like the 5 year rule from the date you applied, but please confirm.)

Hello. I received my first GC in June 3rd 2016. Yes I waited 5 years prior applying. I submitted my application on March 8 2021 (90 days before my 5 years anniversary).

  5. Hello,

I have questions about N-400 interview. I am current green card holder (since 06/03/2016). I filed N-400 on 03/08/2021. My interview scheduled on 10/19/2021.

I am worried about  interview. Me and my spouse live in different states. Due to his job, he was relocated. I stayed in my original state due to school and job. During green card, i provided significant amount of evidences that we see each other each month (flight tickets, vacation pictures, family pictures, bills together, bank statements).

As of right now do I need to bring more evidence to the interview for citizenship? Or this interview is just about me and not about my marriage?

Please let me know if anyone had the same experience.

  6. Hello!

I am greencard holder. It will be five years on June 3rd 2021.

I am planning to submit my N-400 online 90 days prior, which is on March 3rd.

Since I picked the eligibility  "I have a lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years" , do I need still provide evidence of our marriage (for example, pictures, bills together, insurance, just like I did for 1st and 2nd green card)?

I did provide marriage certificate, proof of my husband citizenship, copy of my green card, tax returns for past 3 years, husband's prior divorce certificates. Those documents were required.

  7. Hi everybody! I have the same story. I came in the USA summer 2011 by J-1 visa. Lately I change my status to F-1. Now I study in community college my first semester. I miss my family and would love to visit them. Technically we can go back home, but just need stop by embassy in your country to update visa in your passport. I called to embassy to found out about this process. Just fill up application, pay fee, register for appointment. The officer in embassy will make decision about your visa. And also nobody could tell you for positive result. Just like a lottery. Also when you applied for J-1, you signed agreement that you wouldn't stay in the USA after your J-1 visa will expired and you promise to go home and continue your education. But all of us broke that rule, so I am not sure that we will able to renew visa in your home country.
