I'm currently going through the same thing in iowa. I applied when i had barely gotten my EAD for a pending AOS application, its been over 21 days since i got my temporary license(paper) and between then and now i got my AOS approved and should be receiving my LPR card in the mail shortly. Earlier this week i called the iowa DOT to see what was going on with my permanent license and they gave me some story about the printer being down, but today i got a call from an investigator who had questions about my license and wants to meet with me, i have to bring everything i presented when i applied for my license which at the time was the EAD, SS card and pieces of mail. I'm wondering why they would require this investigator to meet with me if everything should check out? does the EAD get canceled once your approved for LPR? I kind of have the feeling it has to do with the fact that I'm Hispanic immigrant in a predominantly white area( yes, i know I'm playing the race card), what am i supposed to believe if i doubt anybody else has to go through this? can anybody elaborate on this, or has anyone had a similar experience with the Iowa DOT or any DOT for that matter? all i know is this sucks, i have a job interview on Monday and i was hoping to have my permanent license..but alas we don't always get what we want
