I got my IL on 28th Oct for 2nd Dec

I just called but NVC REP tells me that you need to wait for 30 Business days. Not sure there would be any change in status if I call tomorrow. I might call one more time in next few hours and then try tomorrow. Worst case it should be completed on 18th which is I think cutoff to get Interview letter in first week of November for Interview date in December.
Thanks,
I know how frustrating it is and how you feel but to be honest ,NVC representative can only see the status of the application and if they don't see taht it has been completed, they will just say that u have to wait for 30 business days.
Good luck

Congrats Hems!!
Today is my 15th Business day after entering AOS checklist into system for review. Not sure I should call today or tomorrow to hear the case is documentarily completed. What you guys think?
Wish me luck.
Thanks,
There is no harm in calling them few times a week. I some times call them 2 times a day so you should just call them .
-
My Case has been completed at NVC yesterday and the lady told me that I will receive interview letter in early November and the interview will be scheduled in DEC month if the PD will match. She basically told me that they are scheduling interviews in first 2 weeks of the month .

We have partial shutdown in our embassy in manila, philippines. They are not accepting and processing nonimmigrant visa as of today
Sorry to hear that . I just checked a website of Mumbai(india) embassy and it shows below message so I guess they are working normally.
" Please note that all Consular services for American Citizen and visa applicants continue to operate normally at this time."
-
I talked to NVC and the operator mentioned that the gov shutdown wont affect NVC and embassies. I also know that one person got their interview letter today.
Thanks for the update. I think we have to see what happens if GOv shutdown goes beyond 1 week .
-
Does anyone get affected so far and share any updates you have on the impact.
-
My wife called NVC today morning and lady said that they will keep working as long as they get paid
-
I don't get it... My I/L is oct 16, will it effected?
just pray that the government shutdown will last for few days and if it doesn't then I am sorry to say but you will face some delay . Call NVC today as soon as they open and ask them first and try to get supervisor on the call because I asked one of the guy yesterday and he said he is not sure what will happen.

They have mentioned somewhere that overseas consular operation will be avaible for US citizen and if you read other articles in detail, you will get to know that visa issuing service will not be available.
28 days as I recall
I think it was 22 days but it din't start in OCt because they got some exetion for 1 month and than another month or something like that.
-
This happened 17 years back in 1995 and it lasted for 22 days and I hope it won't last for that long this time . Honestly nobody can confirm that how long it will last but if it does than it will definately affect all of us.
-
I guess it mostly affect those who has interview scheduled in OCt or who already got case completion because consulates in any country will not issue a visa and people will have to reschedule their interviews.
NVC people are mostly contractors so it won't affect NVC process if US government gets resolution in 1 or 2 weeks but after that I am nto sure.

I created a topic with a link few days back but that time nobody read it so below is the link to see what could happen to us.
-
I think people will need to read this because governemnt shutdown is confirmed. Please read it and see how it can affect us .
-
hahahah. I think VSC is under that protocol but CSC is not
-
this is from a lawyer website. its not official news
I agree its not official news but this article describes the effect on what could happen to immigration cases if shut down happens. this time it looks like it could happen because democrats and republicans are playing politics instead of solving the problem.
so watch out, this is just FYI.
-
Please read the article below and governemtn shutdown happened in 1995 and the chances for it is increasing this time.
-
If government shutdown happens on OCt 1st then it could affect lot of us.
Read the article here.

Wait, let me correct that. The two week waiting period was when I sent my DS-3032 (hard copy version of DS-261) and when they emailed me that they've approved my DS-261. (I assume that they just referred to details from my DS-3032)
The IV fee was enabled 2 days after I received an email from NVC regarding the approval of my DS-3032.
Thanks for the info. I got an email yesterday so I am hoping that IV fee will available to me tomorrow.
Thanks
Hems

I appreciate if someone can answer below questions I have.
1. How long does it take for the IV fee to be enabled once we get email from NVC regarding DS-261 approval ?
2. How many days NVC takes to review AOS and IV package ?
Thanks

Here I am sharing my interview experience.
I had appointment at the consulate for 7:30 and I went there 1 hour early but still I had to face huge line.
We lined up and they let us inside the consulate around 7:00 . We had to make another line inside the consulate and got token no.
After 2 hours I have been called on one of the window to verify my documents and if any missing I had to provide them and they made my file ready and passed it to consulate officer and asked me to wait.
I have been called for an interview after 45 minutes by a consular officer and here are questions she asked me.
1. who filled an immigration file for you.
2. was it arranged marriage or love marriage.
3. what does your spouse do ?
4. with whom she has been living ?
5. when did you see her last time ?
6. one question regarding my old h1b visa.
7. ask me to show her our marriage pictures.
and final words came that your visa has been approved.
Let me tell you one thing that if you have all the documents ready and correct than you will definitely get your visa and no need to panic.
Best luck to everyone.
