We did not have the proof either. When my fiancee was asked about the proof she explained that the engagement was a surprise. So the next question was any photos we had, she then shared casual photos we had taken.

Usually, it is within 10 days. All the people who got interviewed on the same day as our and also through Nov 7th, gotten all their visas issued. We are the only ones still waiting since October 28th for our visa to be 'issued'. Our luck !!

The whole process of K1 changed in India starting on October 7th. Now, you no longer receive any packet nor you need to submit anything UNTIL you receive your interview letter. While waiting, what we have done was to go ahead and pay the visa fee and with that receipt number created a ustraveldocs profile by giving all the details. After about a week are so, (please check this site daily), all of a sudden a message started to appear in the left side saying "The soonest appointment date is October 28th". We clicked on and locked in the date. Luckily, we received our letter in regular mail from Mumbai just a week prior to 28th (when it was mailed on October 7th from Mumbai embassy). My fiancée rushed to her medical and OFC in the next 2 days, and flew to Mumbai on 27th. She got approved, and ever since we have been waiting for her visa to be issued where all others got issued days ago.

To clear out any doubts for those having Interviews in India, please ignore all the experiences people had prior to October of 7th, 2013. The process has changed in India. No forms need to be filled out by beneficiary except for online DS-160. There will not be any packets mailed to Beneficiary other than a Interview letter in regular postal mail to the beneficiary (takes 2-3 weeks). It is this letter the benefeciary should have to get medical and OFC done. Prior to receiving the letter in postal mail, you may fill out DS-160 and pay the $240 fee. Once these are all done, please check ustraveldocs website daily to see if any appointment dates would show up and schedule it sooner than the date scheduled by NVC. Even though ours was scheduled for 25th of Nov, the website allowed us to change to Oct 28th, 2013 and we were done with all of that and still waiting for the passport to arrive. It is delayed due to the holidays on Nov 4th and 5th.
The important thing is to have the PCC, Birth Certficate and all other documents ready while waiting for the interview letter to arrive and the process will go that much quicker.

Hello, can someone shed some light on the process at Mumbai Embassy for K1 visa interview ? Our case has been gone to the Embassy and received by them on 3rd of Octobober. Ever since it was update twice (once on the 7th and once on the 8th). No clear instructions anywhere. Is it something we need to wait to hear from them for the interview date or do we need to go ahead and mail the applicant readiness forms to the embassy directly?
Any feedback is much appreciated. Thank you.

No. The messages on the web site do not mean anything. Mine says 'In Transit' and that I should have received Interview date. But when called, they mentioned that those messages are very generic and that if there is any real communication that it would come through email. Good luck.

Hello guys, I have been patiently waiting since Spectember 6th (Noa1 - March 11th,2013, Noa2 - August 8th 2013, CSC) and receiving the case number to be ready and shipped to my Fiance's home country. I got tired of the wait and finally reached out to my Senator and received the response below:

Thank you for the documents. I spoke with someone at the National Visa Center and was told that your case is undergoing administrative processing. Unfortunately, when cases are in administrative processing there is nothing that can be done to waive or expedite the process and they are unable to give us a timeline of when it will be completed. If you do not hear anything from NVC within the next 4-6 weeks, please feel free to let me know and I will follow up with them. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yes I received my nvc case # on 09/12. My NOA2 is on 08/09/13 with NOA1 on 03/11/13. And now am stuck in Administrative process for 'unknown' period. It is just wait after wait. Not sure what the heck they were doing for 5 months prior to approving 129F. It seems like we need million aprovals before we get a visa in hand.

March 11th filer, approved on August 8th, received case # from NVC today september 13th. No text, mail or any notification that my case was received at NVC.

March 11th, receipt date, approved on August 8th, NVC received on September 12th. No update, text or email received. I had to call and find out myself. If you all are waiting for a text, then please do call them to receive your case #. Thanks.

hi there, here is the excel file I put together for you. The range I went is 25000 to 40000 the last 5 digits range of eac you provided. Not sure where yours is. But, looking at this, the 25000 is also having March 12th ...which mean I need to go further back all they way till it shows some Feb dates which is when we would be able to figure out a pattern. But, for now until I provide you another file with that additional data, look for your receipt # in the attached, and try to follow those 15-30 cases around your # consecutively and you will be able to figure out the pattern. Like u said it is more random. If you look at my older posts, i predicted that all march 1-15 filers will be approved before end of august and rightly so started to happen. This is at CSC only. It still is good prediction of mine.

Yes, finally after cussing so much, i predicted with 80% certainty last night that it will be approved today. Was starting to get worried when it didn't come by 5 pm. Around, 8 pm i received the txt and email. Mar 11th NOA1 and Aug 8th NOA2.
In my batch of 15 or so cases, only 1 a day approved and i was the last to have gotten today. It did.
Figure out your batch of some consecutive cases and look for a pattern and u will know.

on the same note, it looks like the CSC has a 3 day week to work 12 hours a day and go to sleep for the rest of the week...It has gotten better now that they are looking into long awaiting cases, but still apprvoing applications well ahead. It speaks to their lethargy more than anything and lack of some brain power. Should have known better to have lower expectations. A 4th grader will do much faster if given a paper outlining process than these bunch of knuckleheads. So frustrating to wait and wait and wait...
I can't wait to complete my 5 months and call our Senator's office !!
At this point, I am actually thinking of filing a legal case against USCIS to explain the inconsistencies of processing applications in correct order. I just thought about it..let me see if I can pull my self together and contact my current attoreny and see what our options are for legal action !!

alright, I can do that. Please provide a range. I can not query more than 5000 cases in any 24 period. So,if you have 30000 range, it takes me 6 days to collect all and filter I129F's only. Please provide me a range and I would be happy to.

I wrote a program to query the web server recursively. The following is the update as of this morning. Good amount of moving and lot more of February approval. I am happy for them as this is how it should have been - First Come First Serve
Even VJ is preventing me from posting the same data I posted before which is understandable. So, for those who are following this, the count of I129F application touched has gone down from 191 to 121 this morning. This progress is between my previous post and today.

Hope things are going well for everyone. I wanted to post another piece of information that I could not get it from the threads here (may be recently). We opted to have our passport to be mailed to an offsite location from where we could pick up. We learned that we need to wait until we receive an email (used during filling the documents @ ustraveldocs) that our passport has arrived at OFC and the status shows 'ready for pickup'. We had to return it due to the typos on the visa and it took additional 4 business days to receive in hand with all the corrections. Port of entry was all smooth.
We just got married today in San Jose. On to the adjustment of status now ...
