We filed November 23, 2013.. After months of not hearing anything since receiving my EAD, on June 17th my permanent residence approval was received in the mail and just a couple days ago my permanent residence card followed. I didn't even have to attend an interview. Feeling very thankful!

My husband and I filed for my AOS back in November 2013 in Houston TX and still have not heard anything. Should we be worried?

I just want to clarify, when typing up the cover page for our AOS application do I use my husband's contact information as the applicant? He is the petitioner.

Hi there,
I'm putting together my AOS package, I arrived in Texas with a K1 visa and married my fiancé. I'm now wondering if I apply using his name or using my maiden name. Also what is the A-number that the I-485 form asks for? Thank you!

Hi there,
I entered the USA from Canada on a K1 Visa and am now residing in Texas with my new hubby (we got married yesterday).
My question is in regards to changing my name and applying for AOS. Since I'm in Texas it was not required that I have a SSN to get married, so I have not yet applied for one. I'm wondering since we are now married if I should apply for my SSN using his surname. Also, when filling out forms for AOS should I also use his surname or my maiden name?
Thank you!

When I got approved at my POE 2 weeks ago I was aware of the I-94 form but the man I dealt with told me I only needed the stamp he put in my passport with the expiration date and that the I-94 was no longer needed.
I am now reading I need to bring the I-94 form with me when I apply for an SSN.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?
Thank you!

I recently arrived into the USA with my K1 visa.
I know there are guides available regarding the process. I just want to confirm that my next step is to apply for an SSN.
Thank you!

Last Thursday I had my interview at the consulate in Vancouver, Canada. After 9 months of waiting and paperwork beginning in October 2012, my K1 visa to enter USA has been approved!
Jarad and I are both so thankful we did this with the help of VJ, I don't know where we would have been without the forms and everyone giving such great answers to questions.. The example forms were a life saver as well!! Cheers to not having to get a lawyer!
Best of luck to those still waiting for their interview or who have just submitted!

Thank you for your reply! I really appreciate it!

So I jumped the gun when filling out the DS-156 form (I was way too excited) and filled it out, totally forgetting to look at the example forms on VJ.
I messed up on question 37 and did not list my fiancé is a US citizen, I didn't thoroughly read the question.
Since this form has a bar code will it mess up my papers if I fill out the form again and print it?
I appreciate any advice and help, thank you!

My fiancé is filling out the affidavit of support form I-134.
We have a question in regards to #11, "if you intend to make specific contributions to the support of persons named (myself, the beneficiary) indicate the exact nature and duration of the contribution."
He intends to support me with groceries, rent etc given I will be living with him and becoming his wife. What would be the best amount and duration to list? This question has made us confused because he wants to support me for the rest of our lives or until I can get my work visa and help with expenses.
Thank you for your help!

For the interview for the K-1 Visa, just the I-134. The I-864 is for when you adjust status after you're married
Thank you so much for the response! This definitely clears things up for us

Hi all!
My fiance and I are getting ready for my interview in Vancouver next month. He has filled out the I-134 form but we are wondering if it is necessary for him to also fill out the I-864 form as well.
He made just over $55,000 last year.
Thanks for your help!
