  1. Hey All,

I was wondering how many of you have experience with the interview waiver letter and how long you ended up waiting.

It says up to 6 months on the letter but its been 5 months 18 days and there still hasn't been a change of status on my case.

They can't really tell me anything other than what is on the website or the automated voice when I call to check status. So what do we do? Does anyone know how to find out what is going on?

I feel like My life is in limbo. I can't even get a drivers licenses because The people at the DMV wont accept my fiancée visa because it expired even though I have the work authorization and letters proving I'm waiting for adjustment of status. Yes I tried to get one before it expired and they sent me away saying I needed even MORE proof than it says on their website.

Does anyone have any advice other than wait? I'd like to be a bit more proactive...

  2. Just got Ours today...potential interview waiver...but another 6 months.

    Filed mid February.

When I got the letter I was squeezing the envelope to feel for a card even though the online status check hadn't changed.

Disappointed, but what is more waiting to the likes of us?

Took just over a year to get the K1 in hand.

Hopefully we are all lucky like some of these guys I'm seeing on here, get the letter and couple months later GC in hand? That would be awesome! <3

  3. That pdf you linked to is from 2011. The other 3 you listed in your post are the current ones! You can verify that by going here and selecting your consulate. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html

hmm I got that information from my Appointment confirmation letter, and that was the only one that was listed

I called and made an appointment for next week 4 hours away and $300

    ouch

I mentioned that the other Offices I had seen before weren't listed to the gentleman I spoke with on the phone and he seemed aware that Dr. Seidens office wasn't accepting new cases and that montreal was the only one left.

  4. Ok so I just got my interview date and wanted to book my medical and all of the Dr. offices in Toronto that used to be listed are gone...

even Dr. Seiden is showing as of Oct 1. he is not accepting new cases.

So now I guess there is only Montreal?

There was 3 in the Toronto area according to http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Canada&cty=Montreal

    ONTARIO
    Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas
    200 St. Claire Ave. W. Suite 101-W
    Toronto, ON M4V 1R1
    416-960-1014

    Dr. Randall T. Lee
2901 Lawrence Ave., East, Suite 201
    Scarborough, ON M1P 2T4
    416-266-4543

    Dr. Ian Zatzman
955 Major MacKenzie Dr., West Suite 208
    Vaughan, ON L6A 4P9
    289-553-7711

but on my interview confirmation page it just has this Only the following physicians are designated to perform a medical examination for U.S. immigration: http://travel.state.gov/pdf/medical/MTL-MED-ENGL-0005-1103.pdf.

And when you click on Dr seiden's webpage it just comes up that he is not accepting any new cases

  5. Hey I have a question for you Valliy. They never sent you an email announcing packet 4 release right? Did you include in your packet 3 an email address for them to send it to?

We've been waiting a three weeks and today they finally told us packet 3 was logged and packet 4 "should" be going out soon, but now I'm wondering if we'll get it.

Yes I included my email in packet 3 but I never received packet 4.

It was only after I emailed them that they told me packet 4 had been sent by mail almost 2 months prior.

The best advice I can give is email them and wait...and wait...and wait some more...and then after you get permission or packet 4...develop OCD from checking the website to see if there is any appointments available cray5ol.gif

  6. Montreal is making me OCD...

I never received my packet 4 but after constantly calling and getting no where I emailed them. About 3 weeks later I received an email from them that said they sent packet 4 AUGUST 5!! ranting33va.gif

Ok ok don't freak... so since then Sept 26th I have been compulsively checking every few mins on my smart phone and computer but only seeing this damn message that there are no appointments available at this time...

Meanwhile one of my other American friends married his phillipine g/f and didn't do any of this stuff ... ranting33va.gif trying to be happy for them but ... it seems like trying to go about this the right way is only dragging it out for a year...when I could have been with my fiancée this whole time...

On a related note do I need a hard copy of packet 4? does anyone know? All I have is this email saying that they sent it back in august....

  7. Hey Guys,

We applied for the K1 back in November of last year. Almost a year and we are still waiting.

I received my NOA2 and sent in packet 3 it arrived at the Montreal consulate July 31st.

I called several times and was told that they could tell me nothing about my case .

After about a month of calling, I emailed them and they got back to me about 3 weeks later.

They told me that my packet 4 had been sent back in August! AUGUST the 5th. 6 days after they received packet 3, meanwhile I've been calling and they tell me that there is no changes to my case! That packet 4 has not been sent!

OK so this was Sept 26....and every single time I check to see if I can schedule my interview, as it is stated in the email I received that I can...it says ...

NO APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME....

    Help *cries*

I suppose the real question I am asking is How often does montreal assign blocks of interviews? Anyone know? or any idea when? I've been checking for about a week and it always says the same thing.

And as for packet 4... do I need it? Do I need a hard copy of packet 4? Should there be an inquiry as to why I never received mine?

All I have is an email with the details of packet 4 and when it was sent to me. Its not the actual Packet.

  8. Ok, so long story short.

My fiancé is in Tennessee and I'm in Canada

My parents are snowbirds and usually travel and live in the USA for 3-4 months they own a home in Florida

I would like to go down for 4-5 months this summer and basically stay with my fiancé giving the impression that I'm going to my parents house in Florida for some of my stay, and travelling to Washington DC (Smithsonian) , Tennessee and Indiana (to visit friends) as well as south Dakota (mount rushmore) and going to Yellowstone National park for some camping.

Is this likely to raise eyebrows? I would like to visit all of these places and should have enough funds to do so, but I think the reality may be far different. I would like to take his kids to Orlando and maybe do the Disney world thing, and I've always wanted to see mount rushmore, Yellowstone and the Smithsonian.

In reality I think I'll just end up going to my fiancée's and playing with his kids all summer...

So I suppose my question is if I go down and tell the border patrol that, am I lying?

I am a youngish (30 something) white female I plan on bringing my lease agreement, proof of leave of absence from my job, my dog and summer clothes....how likely is it that I will be turned away at the border?

If they do probe into my relationship with my friends I will say I do plan on visiting and travelling with my fiancé and his children.

I have travelled to visit quite a few times to visit only stating that I am visiting friends and never been questioned ...only when I crossed at Detroit and told them I was visiting my then boyfriend now fiancé did I ever have a problem.

But I have never gone for this long before, so I'm a bit more worried. Any advice would be welcome.

  9. Hey Guys,

Well I'm Canadian with an American Fiance

As a Canadian I can visit the US for upto 6 months on just my passport.

Alot of canadians are snowbirds and got to the warmer states for the winter. And my parents actually have a winter home in Florida.

We filed the K1 in November 2012 but looking at these timelines is scary I see people on here waiting over a year when the USCIS site says 5 months.

I've been to the US since my fiancee filed the K1 and I've found as long as I dont mention him at all during border crossing there is no problem.

I just don't offer that information at all.

I'm actually debating on whether or not it might be feasible to just go there for 4 or 5 months and then just come back for my interview. And yes I realize I won't be able to work but hopefully I will have saved enough to live on during that time.

I'm also thinking that time together would be great for making sure we are compatible in a domestic setting rather than a exciting vacation setting.

Sounds a bit risky and I'm worried about it but honestly I dont think the border guard realized that he had filed a K1...perhaps because it wasnt and still isnt being processed? From what I understand they are only into July and August now...so if that is the case my case wouldnt be processed until July.

  10. Well thanks everyone for your replies, nice to know I'm not alone.

I wonder though every site we looked at before here was saying 5-6 months but there are peoples timelines showing 385 days from the time they sent their packet in to the time that they finally got their interview. Thats a scary timeline.

I wonder if it would just be feasible to go to the states for 4-6 months and wait this out there?

  11. Hey Guys,

My fiancée petitioned for the K-1 visa back in November 2012 and we haven't heard any information on our case at all.

He called and they told him they would call him back...they eventually did but with no information at all. They just said to wait another 45-60 days...this was in January.

All the USCIS site says when we enter the receipt number is •Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.

When I tried calling the number they told me they couldn't tell me anything about the case at all because I wasn't the petitioner.

Anyone have any advice on this? Is it normal to not hear anything for 4 months after NOCA?
