Did you guys got any updates on your case before they approved it? Like my case is in Initial Review and it hasn't move or update since they received the fingerprints back in March.

And was your case transfer to a local office or was it at the benefit center?

The only update we got was when the Welcome letter was sent. The next day there was another update stating they had sent the card. No updates from February to December. It was processed at the National Benefits Center and wasn't transferred.

Green card received 12-9-14! NPIW received 6-5-14. Right at 6 months from notice to receipt of green card. Yay!

Status update: AOS approved without interview. Card was mailed on December 3, 2014. Conditional residence granted.

It was more than a year ago. October of 2013.

First of all, let me say welcome to the site! I'm sure others will have tons of advice for you, but what I can say is that you've come to the right place. It's hard to tell from your post, but I'm guessing that you'll want your husband to come with you when you transfer your job? He'll need an immigrant visa in order to do so, and the guides on this site are very helpful in order to get you started. The process for married couples is pretty straightforward, and you'll have the added benefit of being with your loved one during the process. Since you're talking about something that would happen three years from now, you've got plenty of time to get everything that you need in order.

So, in short, my advice is to follow the guides on this site and enjoy the time with your husband during this process.

My wife got hers after marriage from a K-1 but they put her maiden name on it. After EAD she went in again and changed it to her married name.

I know there is another forum for Interview waivers, but I'm interested if there is anyone else who filed in February that is still waiting after they got an interview waiver letter. I got my letter in May. It's right at 6 months for us, but from what I'm seeing, I might have to wait another month or 2.

I hour commute is normal. Most people who are "lucky" have a 30 to 45 minutes commute.

You can decide if this is worth for you by thinking of it as a 10 hr shift. That would equal to having a $14.4 hourly wage working from home.

If I were you I would be more concerned whether this job is a good career move.

Good point Maria. My commute is only 5-10 minutes, but both my job and my home are hours and hundreds of dollars worth of travel away from my family and my support structure. Luckily, my wife is here with me, but this is only a means to an end. Eventually, I will move back home to be closer to my parents and my daughter.

Did you try contacting the Embassy in Abu Dhabi? I'm sorry I didn't pay more attention to that whole process, because they sent Packet 3 and interview appointment to USC e-mail, and I don't remember where I gave that information to them. However, based on your timeline, you're right there about the time you should have your interview based on my own experience. Which is considerably faster than some countries, so don't worry too much, this part of the journey is almost over for you. Just contact the embassy with your case number, and they should be able to get you the information you need.

We didn't front load I-134 or beneficiary's birth certificate. Just follow the guides, and you'll be fine. UAE is not a high fraud country, so as long as their are no red flags, it should be relatively painless.

Can I ask, Which DS forms did you submit to the Embassy?

I'll be having my Interview this coming December 9, 2013. I already prepared DS-230, DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157 as what i got from the Packet 3-4 Instructions. But as per the new rule from October 7 all K1 applicant should fill-out the DS-160 form only.

Please kindly let me know what did they require for DS forms and other things...Just wanted to make sure i am on the right track.

Just follow the instructions from the embassy. We submitted the forms that you have prepared. The DS-160 wasn't even mentioned. Everything was fine, and you will be fine, too. Just relax, this part of your journey is almost over!

I am just guessing here that you checked the box on one of the forms indicating you are requesting a SSN. From my understanding that doesn't always work. It is best to go to the local Social Security office and apply for a SSN there. As long as all of your paperwork is in order, you should have no problem.

I called 2 times. Both times all they asked for is receipt number. The first time, they told me they haven't received it yet. The second time, after I gave the receipt number, they asked for names and birthdays to confirm that I had something to do with the case. That is when I got the case number. So, if they don't ask for names and birthdays, they don't have it yet. Be patient, it will come.

NOA2 Aug 1, called Aug 19 received case number from NVC. Just short of three weeks.

I called last week and thy told me it was taking 8 weeks. I called again today and I got the NVC Case #!!!! I'm excited for the next steps.

Don't worry everyone, it will happen for you too. Just be patient and remember, even though this is a long process now, you will spend the rest of your lives together!!! So, in the end, all the waiting will be worth it!! Stay positive guys!

Absolutely you can visit! Especially being in Canada that is generally easier than for some of us. My fiancée is Filipino living in Dubai, so the only way we can see each other is if I go there. However, having said that, the ultimate discretion at letting you into the US is left to the CBP agent at your point of entry. Just be honest with them and answer their questions generically. But don't lie to them.

If you are going to eventually need a co-sponsor, I would go ahead with that now. I don't know why one is 100% and the other 125% because once you are married and file for the green card, you will need to show the 125%. Now just to be fair, I don't have experience with your exact situation, but I had thought about that before and I was considering finding a co-sponsor if that was going to be the case for me. Since your mother has agreed to be a co-sponsor, I'd go with that from the get go and save yourself the headache later.

What happened to the specific answers? Any help would be nice.

Before I get started, I just want to say that I am the petitioner. This is for a K-1 fiancée visa. Ok, I got my NOA2 today and it was approved!!! I know that I need to wait a couple of weeks to call the NVC to get a case number and then my fiancée can email the choice of agent form so I get all the mail for her.

Here is the issue. I just got a new job and I will be moving. I really didn't expect to get approved so soon. Here's what I need help with:

1. The tax transcripts for the last 3 years will show earnings above the required 125% of poverty level for my situation. W-2's for last year ditto. Like I said, I just got a new job so all I have for that is an offer letter and my first paycheck will be next month. However, by the time she has her interview I'm sure I will have more paystubs to provide her. Will that be enough?

2. I just got the NOA2 and I am moving at the end of the month. When should I change my address and with whom? I am going to be requesting that I be her agent so I can get the embassy packet for her.

3. When should she get her NBI (police clearance)? She is going to the Philippines in October, but she can change her plans if her interview will be around that time. Or, can we do anything to postpone this a little bit? The NOA2 says it is valid until November 30, is there a way we can get her interview for the last week of November?

4. Mostly I just need my nerves calmed. I've been patient through this process but I was able to pass the time by looking for work. Not that I found work and I got the NOA2 in the same day, my mind is racing!

Any help will be appreciated. If I think my nerves need to be calmed, I can imagine how badly hers need to be calmed! It's a good thing I am planning on seeing her this month!

Approved!!!!!!!!!!!! I just have to wait until she wakes up now to tell her!! I'm so excited! This has been a really good day for me!!!!!

I'm sure everyone can relate, but I was so nervous today when I sent the I-129F package. I am hopeful that everything will be fine and it won't be too long until we are together again.

Can the US Citizen attend the interview in Abu Dhabi? I think that would alleviate some of her fears.

No, I'm not in UAE right now, but I miss Dubai, too. Not just because that is where my fiancee is right now. I do get to see her this week on my way back to the US, though, so I'm excited about that.

I have read a lot of the Abu Dhabi embassy reviews, and I have to agree, it seems like the interview is pretty straight forward. I have a lot to think about. Really it would be so much better if it was easier for mixed nationality, mixed-religion people to get married in the UAE. We could do it, but I don't think I can stay in Dubai that long to get everything done we would need to do.
