  1. 1. Could someone clarify if I need to fill out the form I-693 and submit it with the DS 3025 for the adjustment of status for a K1-visa holder? I'm reading the instructions and it says that although another medical exam is not needed we still need to fill out the form 693. Someone please clarify this for us, please?

    2. Are tax transcripts mandatory for the affidavit of support for AOS, it says on the form that it is optional. Kindly help!

  2. Okay before you start very important question to ask you. When you applied for your B2 Visa at interview and on application who did you say you were visiting?

What did you tell the CBP when you landed who you were visiting?

I hope your answers were someone either than your partner because you'll have lot of problems on your hands, i.e. immigration fraud issues. Think this through, it's not so simple process. Good luck!

I would like to go on a limb and say nigerians, please, please, please do the right thing. Trying to circumvent the system and bending rules makes the process very difficult for other nigerians who are trying to do the right thing. I really hope you didn't get a B2 with the intention of going to get married. IJS

  3. 1. Could someone kindly tell me what is the best way to check if the visa has been issued after k1 approval. I have been using the CEAC website but it's not so dependable, it says different things at different times and other times it just says "no data can be retrieved" or some bs like that.

    2. Pick up location, I chose the other location aside from VI for pickup but my fiance said he was told to go to VI, which location is it then for pick up.

    Any input will help thanks!

  4. It seems when they realized he was an immigrant from Nigeria they wanted to ask him quite a few questions. He says just about everyone on the flight that was immigrating was asked lots of questions. The officers seemed to be in the interrogating mood/harassing folks.

This is the second time I have had accounts of flights arriving from nigeria in houston and people being heavily interrogated including K1s. Two months ago a lady with an approved k1 for herself and a k2 for her daughter, a child of both the petitioner and beneficiary mind you were ripped to shreds with interrogations at Houston. Various folks with tourist visas were deported for failing to answering specific questions to immigration officers' satisfaction. The lady with the K1 called her fiancé who came to the airport and even after reportedly "clearing the air" they asked her to sign deportation documents for failure to prove bonafide relations (yes another damn interview). I'd say unless you live in houston or even if you do you're better off with POE who are more than familiar with immigration, i.e. JFK, DC, Chicago, Miami. They don't say "don't mess with Texas" for no reason. Currently they are not being too nice with Nigerian immigrants or tourists. For what reasons, I have no clue!

  5. Hello everyone,

We filed our I129f in August and was approved in October. We currently have an interview date for end of january, I would like to know if I as the petitioner need to rewrite a new letter of intent. I ask because I suppose the reasons for rewriting them is ordinarily the petitions take tremendously long for approval. However since our petition was approved in less than 6 weeks, do we need another letter of intent for the interview for Lagos, Nigeria. Thanks for your input.

  6. It has been a very long journey for us but our interview is set for less than 2 weeks now it is Dec 12th @ 10 am. I am so nervious because I can't be there at the interview my mother passed away this month and the added expenses of the funeral made it impossible for me to go. So I am asking all of my wonderful friends here on VJ to add us in your prayers that my husbands interview goes well and he can be home with me and we can celebrate or 2nd wedding anniversary together. I can't even begin to tell you how greatful I am to everyone here on VJ. For everyone just starting the journey you have come to the right spot. Thank you everyone for all the support you have given me over the course of this journey I will be forever grateful and blessed to have had a chance to get to know you at least on this sight.

My condolences about your mom passing. I will keep you in prayers. Good Luck on the rest of your journey!

  7. @Dwheels, yes in response to question 3, I meant minimum number of shots. Does the copy he receives when requested be a separate copy, i.e. not enclosed in the envelope he is not supposed to open for his interview??

    1. Yes the physicans at Chidlrens (recommended best place) or Q place do the test to see what vaccinations. They ask questions of childhood illnesses and he can also tell them what he has had and they will test.
    2. Yes required vaccinations must be done by interview or he will get a 221g at interview an no approval until complete.
    3. minumum # of what? Shots? Everyone basically has the major 3 test. I haven't seen anyone need more. Depending on age som others may need to be done.

Also be sure to ask for your copy of medical (the DS-3025 I believe) so you don't have to go through this again stateside .

  8. So my fiance can't seem to find a record of his vaccinations. My questions are:

1.Does the required physicians in lagos provide the titers test to determine which vaccines he needs?

    2. Does he need to have all of his vaccinations completed before the interview?

    3. Is there a minimum number for K1-s that need to be completed before his interview?

All inputs especially those who have gone through lagos lately will be very much appreciated.

  9. Seriously, I'm grateful to have finally gotten our case number a few minutes ago after waiting around for several weeks. But to my disappointment they got the wrong petitioner name for the case. I couldn't believe it. I was told this by the state department so I called NVC (as much as I hate calling and waiting on the phone for ages). I was hoping they would tell me otherwise but of course it's the same DOS system so they confirmed the mistake. I was told I was lucky to have called today as it was entered today and the package hasn't left the NVC for the consulate yet. Alas! my OCD tendencies of calling everyday for the case number paid off just in time to catch the package before it was sent off! I wouldn't be upset if and ONLY if the representative on the phone hadn't mentioned to me after I inquired how such a mistake could happen, and he responds "oh these things are entered by hand so someone might have had 4 or 5 cases at a time and wasn't paying attention enough leading to entering the wrong petitioner's info". I smell incompetence and efficiency and I don't like it, I don't like it at all!! I'm go Woo-sah a couple of times and just hope it is fixed on tuesday before it is sent off as they mentioned.

  10. @Watdog, I'm glad mine is not the only one that looks bonkers hahahaha. @ J&L, yes, I sent ALL of that. My fiancé lives in nigeria, a high fraud zone, from what I have learned on VJ, there are no fast rules for how much you send but the consensus seems to be that the majority of those who frontloaded for K-1s are predominantly successful so I was not going to take any chances! Send luck my way for the rest of the journey =)

  11. Boy oh boy am I excited or what!!! I sent in my petition on August 30th 2013 to Texas office. I frontloaded like a mofo (see attached humongous package) and praying and hoping in addition. I randomly checked the status this evening and realized it has been approved since october 11th. Now waiting for the notification in the mail in order contact NVC. Looks like this paperwork game just got even more exciting =P Onward we go!! Thanks to the "woman upstairs" no doubt!
