  1. My co-sponsor was retired and they recieved social security but its different from SSI there is different types of social security. My co-sponsor they wasnt required to file taxes because they are not working but they got a tax transcript of their SS payment to that effect also we used their bank account statement which shows the amount of money in his account. Let me inform you if both of their names is on that bank account the spouse wife will have to do a I-864a the husband will do I-864 as well. Trust me, my husband had to make another appt. to bring that info back in.

Thank you. This is pretty good news that this kind of sponsor was acceptable. l am sure Social Security basically works the same no matter the reason a person is allowed to draw it. My father started as disabled, but was switched to the regular retirement benefits shortly after drawing it.Mother Is on the normal retirement benefits. I have already had both my parents respectively fill out both of the forms that mentioned. I will have to verify that we have the correct transcripts from yhe IRS as well as the statement from the Social Security office. Thanks again for your response.
  2. Hello

Here is the question: As I am living abroad for several years with my husband and my income doesn't meet the poverty guidelines, I need a joint sponsor for my husband. My parents are eager to help, but they are retired and on Social Security. This is a nontaxable income and we have the SSI explanation of this fact. I have heard that this type of income may be a problem. My parents also have a moderate savings in CD. Otherwise their SSI appears to meet the required income. Has anyone successfully used a joint sponsor on social security, and if so, what other supporting evidence was included to explain the tax exemption and lack of tax return documents?

    Thank you

  4. Hello

yesterday we received un email from USCIS saying : On October 4, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN that you filed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

But never change the address so I called them . It went much faster this time.

The address has not been changed. For some reason their computer system indicated a change was made during our last inquire, but no change was actually made.
  5. Humm Casablanca........dry.png so Morocco its a high fraud risk country more than other anglophone countries by ex as Egypt and Liberia ........ect . I will believe that if it was about Europe knowing that the most northafricans "U M A" prefer south Europe to immigrate .....anyway i think most of the 3rd world its a risk of fraud .and some ppls apply after days or weeks after they get married its normal to be suspicious

    good luck for all

  6. 78 Day waiting for NOA2 we are filing from abroad. I am seeing other abroad filers getting approved.....why still nothing for me? This waiting is killing me! I really want to hear something soon! I am worried about my parents back in the USA. I am being pushed to go back and it is difficult to leave my husband behind. I have been living with him for 3 years and I have not been away from him for more than a couple days. Now I have to go take care of my parents and I will be separated from him for weeks....months....who knows how long....OMG! I hate this!!!!!sad.pngunsure.pngmad.gifcrying.gif

  7. Hello fellow April filers,

I have some good news to share just to encourage others out there. Our I-130 petition has been approved – my husband received an email today saying an approval notice has been mailed to our home address! We are over the moon, feel so very very lucky and thank God for such a speedy process because we know so many out there have been waiting for months on end for their approval - Direct Filing does work faster after all! smile.png

Interestingly, we did not receive an nao1 notice...maybe because my husband had made an appointment at the embassy to hand deliver it perhaps? We had dead silence for 36 days wondering what in the world was going on, and then the magic email appeared today!

I’m a bit confused by the fact that the email didn’t have a case number or anything on it. I guess that will be on the letter that the local Immigrant Visa Section (apparently it will explain the next steps) is sending us. Will update as we journey on...

Good luck to us all on this journey!

Congratulation good.gif and good luck for all the Aprils fillers Iam one of them rolleyes.gif
