  1. Hello,

Thank you all for your response and suggestions. I wanted to update you all on my situation. I went to DMV earlier today to try my luck and fortunately for me, they renewed my license without any questions or hustle. I'm so relieved.

I'll be waiting on USCIS and let you all know how they resolve my issue.

It's very irritating of them to be on point when it comes to cashing our cheques but can't take a few minutes to get details right on our paper work, after we spend hours and hours putting our packages together. What's the point in all of that if you cannot get my name and address right?

  2. Hello everyone, I received my NOA today, my first name was missing the last letter and my street name was also spelt wrong. I called USCIS right away they are working on correcting that, and was told I'll hear from them in 30 days regarding that. My question however to everyone is, i have to renew my drivers license with DMV before it expires next month, does any of you had this same issue to be able to tell me whether I'll have issues with my error filled NOA at the DMV or they'll renew my license without any issues?

  4. Hi vj family, just wanted to update you all, in picked up my visa today of the Ghana embassy today.

    I'm soo happy......

I have a quick question, if travel by ALITALIA do I need to obtain a transit visa for Italy?

Your answers will be appreciated. Thank you all. :-)

  5. Thank you P.A.@2013.

    @ futureride, thank you too.

Regarding your questions, I think it took the consulate about a week to contact me after they received the approved petition from NVC,

The only delay is instead of the consulate calling,or emailing me with the letter asking me to pick up my appointment package,

For some strange reason, they sent it in post from here back to the states to my fiancé, they could have emailed him with the letter if they wanted to send it to him, but they chose to delay things further by sending it in the post to him. It took about 2 weeks to get to him.

When I went to the embassy with that pickup letter, the gave me an appointment date three weeks away, so all in all, it's not too much waiting after they contact you. You don't have to contact them, they will.

I'll advise you to try and start processing your police report now, it definitely takes more than 10 working days tobe ready and between picking up your package and interview date, you won't have enough time. It's valid for 6 months, so you should be alright.

    Good luck.

  6. Hi everyone, thank you all for your help and support,

I went for my interview today, got to the embassy around 6.45 am, I use the time on my fon and since I had to check it in at security, I'll just have to guestimate the waiting periods. We were all called to que up around 7am. Once inside, the two ladies sitting close to the door to the right took my appointment letter and everyone was directed to sit down.

I got called to window 3 by a Ghanaian lady about 2 hours after waiting, she was very nice, took all my forms, medical a, birth cert, police cert, I-134 & letters from work, 401K & W2s, she returned his income tax report & bank statements to me. Collected all my evidence and gave me a sheet to go to the cashier and pay the visa fee. I did that, and returned the receipt to her. She then asked me to wait.

After waiting for about 20 mins, I called to window 1 by another Ghanaian lady, also very polite, she scanned my finger prints and asked me to wait, again.

After waiting for another 20 mins, I got called to window 5 by a caucatian lady. She had me take the oat, signed the form. Looked through my I-129 petition from NVC, then asked me the following questions:

    1. How did you meet ( with follow up questions)

    2. Where does your fiancé live?

    3. How long has he lived there?

    4. What does he do?

    5. What does he do in his spare time?

Then picked up her blue sheet and asked me to come back for my VISA on Fridayyyyy ✋???

The interview itself lasted less than 5mins. I was out of the embassy by 10.15am. God is great!!!

All the best to those of you still waiting. Your time will come.

  7. P.A.@2013, thank you, thank you, thank you, your response has been very helpful

Thinking your fate lies in the hands of another individual....

Hopefully, I'll have good news by the end of tuesday...thank you once again.
