Hey RedPepper, glad to hear you were recently approved. Based on my dads experience and a friend of mines, it depends. My dads wife took about 5 hours, the flight arrived at 1:30PM (peak hour) from Nicaragua and his wife was out at close to 5PM. On the other hand my friends wife only took 1 hour as it was only 5:30AM. It really depends on the airport and time of arrival. Hope that helps. BTW my wife was approved also,

If i'm not mistaken, even if you submitted the DS-230 at a later time (past 1 of Sep). NVC will see that you submitted the DS-260 as well. The documentation provided with the DS-230 will be the documents that support your DS-260, thus making part 1 and 2 of the DS-230 useless since it's obsolete. They had my DS-230, but I was checklisted on the 10th of Sep because i hadn't filed my DS-260.

So from my opinion, that counts right now are your documents and the DS-260 which i hope they will unify. And those 3-5 days they mention online is probably the time for someone to receive it onto your case.

Remember they still need proof of what you mentioned, that requires a set of eyes to analyze. As hard as it is already, I don't think NVC is here to screw anyone up, mistakes happen A LOT. Any please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks

I submitted my DS260 online in September 26, 2013 then my husband still sent my DS230 by overnight mail in Sept 27, 2013. But something went wrong with my IV Fee payment in Sept 21, 2013

--which was finally settled (status PAID)only in October 4, 2013.

Now, it's been 10 days since IV Fee status PAID

and 19 days since I sent DS260 online, and DS230 with Civil Docs by mail

and the only email I received from NVC was:

Dear Sir/Madam:
...We received documentation for your case. Please allow 30 business days
for us to review your documents.

Now worrying that doing DS260 online and sending DS230 by mail--since it carries the same information anyway--may have caused the delay.

I just wonder why the system said 3-5 business days to process and up until now,

my case is not completed yet.

Should I have complied with the DS261 and DS260 alone, without having sent DS230 by mail?

Did I do something wrong here?

This is now moot for me. We received interview appointment today!

Per http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf, your annual income should be fine for you and the beneficiary. The letter I provided was company letter head (well it had the info of the branch where i work at). If you have kids, then you might need a co-sponser.

It took about a week for my case complete after i sent my DS-260 online on the 10th of Sep. Case completed on the 19th. Might want to call NVC, might not be the DS-260, has your I-864 cleared with no problems? Hope you get your case complete soon.

BTW, I sent my DS-230 on the 14-15 of August.

We submitted DS-230 on 8/17/13, and were told to submit the DS-230 on 9/17/13. We sent DS-260 on 9/18/13 and to date have received no response.

I am not a lawyer, nor did make use of one. When I sent in my original DS-230, NVC provided a cover sheet for that particular application, they also provided one for the I-864. When I submitted the DS-260 on the 10th of Sep, I didn't need to send my documents again. I've read many post and i've never seen both sent together, might be two different division at Portsmouth, but then again if his lawyer says so, who knows.

He first has to submit the DS-261 in order to be eligible to pay for the IV fee. This designates an agent to the case. (I'm guessing his lawyer)

After that, he can submit the DS-260 online.

His lawyer said to send the I-864 with IV package together, is it the right way ?

And the second question - IV fee is unavailable to pay online, so should we complete DS 260 online before paying the fee?

Have you received an interview date yet?

You can notarize and translate if you want, as per http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html, you only have to translate if not on the native language of the country or in English. I sent mines in in Spanish and my case was completed without generating a checklist, and wasn't notarized either, but was authenticated in Nicaragua though.

As long as your income meets or in this case your husband had to have sent one also with a co-sponser if he didn't meet the requirements (I-864A). I met mines so I sent in my I-864 for my beneficiary. Alone

I don't know what I'm doing wrong..I followed the link above put in my info and it doesn't allow me to even open that form because I haven't paid the fee it doesn't give me the option to pay that either!!? This is so frustrating smh..

On the part that you edited later, I was case completed on the 19th of Sep (Submitted everything on NVC side), and most likely either Nov or Dec i'll be getting an interview date, and think about it since submitting my first DS-230 in august then the DS-260 took about 2 months to review.

I'm not trying to put anyone down, but most likely your case complete could be in late Nov or Dec, thus stating your interview will most likely be in 2014.

NVC is now processing application with a 30 business day wait time. My friend NVC is not just a 2 month process anymore.

Submitting the DS-261 doesn't hurt you, in fact it might even be faster than your original DS-3032 which i assume you submitted previously. Luck!

If you have both the NVC Case number and Invoice number you can go here https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/, click on the DS-261 link and fill out.

You can also call NVC tomorrow, they will most likely tell you to fill the DS-261 online also.

Negative if you sign and complete you will send the application immediately, you can review by simply going back or review it just before signing. I found the review button just before signing or my going to the last tab on the left where Social Security is or Preparer Information. Signing is just that....

ALSO, on the top of that page you will see 3 tabs, Complete, Review and Sign in that order, good luck!

I dont think it's much, they really care more about the Applicant than the preparer on that case.

If you have a chance you can change it, otherwise i dont think it will trigger a checklist for such a small thing.

Yes the DS-260 refers to the Applicant (Beneficiary), NOT THE PETITIONER

No if she/he never applied for one, but later it will tell you if you want one, then that answer should be yes, because you want your beneficiary to receive one here in the states.

Has your case updated lately? I'd like to hear your case, did you finally sumbit your DS-260? The previous member submitted his DS-230 before you and later submitted his DS-260 and was recently case complete. Thanks!

NVC received my IV packet (DS-230, original civil docs & copies) on 4th September 2013.

I got a checklist today about filling out DS-260 online and submit it.

I called NVC today and the CSR told me that you DO NOT required to submit DS-260 online as we are reviewing you case right now, wait till NVC to find any document missing/ need additional documents, then NVC will send another checklist asking for the missing document and submit DS-260 online.

Anyone had the similar experience?
