  1. Hi al...

Congrats to those you just passed the interview .... and congrats to all those who will soon :)

Quick question: We received an email from the Manila embassy regarding our upcoming IR1 (immigrant) interview. In the email, it said to register our visa delivery address or else our visa will get delayed. However, the link below seems to broken:

    Can someone confirm? Thanks!

  2. Hello elliotrick23,

I just got my case complete today. My scan date was Oct. 13th, so 34 days. A couple of us around my scan date has taken longer than the 30 days so don't be surprised if it goes to next week. But good thing was no checklists or RFE's :)

Just to add, I called on the 30th day and the rep told me that it was going to go under supervisors review that same day. It took a little longer (6 days) but at least not the mandated 42 days.

    Best of luck to you!

oops typo...supervisor review took 4 days not 6.

  3. Hoping for a CC this week and also wishing all waiting for cc good news this week...... my scan date 16TH Oct.

  4. I do not want to ruin your hopes or anything like that, but from own experience I know that supervisor review is BS... It'll take 42 days to review... And some of us, not even after 42 days being under supervisor review we did not get an answer.

I hope that won't be the case in your situation! Make sure you call again later today!

Not at all. Its good to have realistic expectations :)

I'll definitely call later tonight...thanks again!

  5. Pretty sweet, right? And the waiting time is short as well :)

wait time was not so bad either :)

well, spoke to a very nice service rep named valerie and said today was actually the 30th day. she said no matter, she'll put it under supervisor's review and have it reviewed today. whether thats true or not, we'll see.

no mention of the new 30 to 45 day window.

    i'll post back later.

thanks for all the replies and best of luck to all.

  6. Hi everyone,

I submitted my K1 Visa petition on September 30th and received my NOA1 on October 5th. I have been checking the USCIS status page daily to see if it updates with NOA2, but thus far have not seen any updates beyond the NOA1. However, tonight I received a strange email telling me to setup an account at the following site:

    https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/

The heading of the site only states "Apply for a US VISA in Philippines"

I have not yet received any other instructions regarding this site, however, based on a google search, it seems that this is the site that we use to schedule interviews at the US embassy in Manila.

Has anyone else experienced this and can I basically take this to indicate that my petition was approved by CSC and the NOA2 is on the way given that they are already setting up my account for the interview?

    Thanks!

definitely looks like a scam site.

  7. Got that 3rd magical N/A this morning!!!

Eeeek, now hopefully i make it in this next batch of interviews for November!

    A big congrats!

I wonder if the 30 day review timeframe applies to when they scan the AOS/IV package, OR when they receive the DS-260; OR whichever they receive last.

Just sent over the DS-260, my packages are scanned and now the wait begins.

  8. I honestly don't think it is a coincidence. It seems like after people call (especially if they are over the estimated times) they get good news very shortly afterwards. But congrats either way on being one step closer!

So after a week of my IV bill showing in IN PROCESS, I decided to call NVC last night. Similar to Greg Phan, they gave me the old schtick of it takes up to 7 days for the IV to bill to get processed and that I should give it a couple more days. Interestingly, the operator did get off the phone and told me to hold on while she reviews my case.

Anyway, woke up this morning and boom, IV invoice is showing PAID.

Lol...perhaps not a coincidence at all.

  9. Good morning all,

I paid IV bill 6 days ago and status still shows in process. Do I need to call? I figure if I do they will say give it 30 days per script.

    thanks

Im right up there with you. Paid IV bill on 10/12 and funds were withdrawn from my bank on 10/14.

I get the sense that the NVC might be getting bogged down...seems like processes are taking somewhat longer than in summer.

If you do call the NVC, I would be very curious as to what they say.

  10. No.

Unless your C corporations file quarterly payroll tax returns and deduct ss, medicare and estimated income tax on your behalf and issue you a w-2 form. Otherwise, you are self employed.

Luckily, that is exactly what my C corporations do...all of which are documented on the payroll stubs, W-2s and income tax forms.

Thank you for the affirmation. :)

I'm now concerned that I might confuse them. I sent them three tax returns. The first two years, one of my businesses was a sole proprietorship. Hopefully my explanatory letter will clarify things but who knows.
