Usually it means they are looking at or working on your case when there is an update. They also update when you send them documents. They do not update when you send them an email. They update when they answer an email or call you on the phone.

Can someone help me because my situation is very similar to Fianceevisa.

I am a 43 year old black woman and I MARRIED a 27 year old Indian man in Chandigarh India on April 5, 2013. I am currently still here in India and will be here till August 2013

So here is my situation, I've been talking to my husband for 3 years online and on the phone since 2010. To make a long story short, his family does not really accept me and I can't go to his house. One or two accepts me but that's about it. Oh he changed his religion from Hindu to Christian in order to marry with me. He said he had no problem with that since he is not religious and doesn't really believe in God anyway. His mother hates me double for this as his family is very strongly Hindu people. We are currently staying in a hotel. We have pictures not alot, But when I go back to America, what will be the procedure like will it be hard for our situation as well if I apply for my husband to come to America on a spousal Visa considering our circumstances? Any advice on our spousal Visa and how it can be approved? How long do you think it will take?
