Hello everyone! I wish all is well! I came to the US in November 1989 when i was 15 years old with a visa and eventually was given the residence card. Now I'm 39 years old and I would like to file for citizenship. My question is the following: I was told that if my dad and my American stepmother married before I turned 14 years of age (they married when I was nine years old) and I came to to US before I turned 18 years old, can I become a US citizen automatically without having to file for the regular citizen forms? Would someone knowledgable in this area tell me if this is correct? And if it is so, what form do I fill out?

I can tell you for my personal experience that if ur father became a citizen b4 u were 21 years old all u have to is filled an N600 so my suggestion is to go to an uscis office and they will tell u which form u have to fill out

Do a quick search on the top right of the secreen and you will come across a lot of experiences with expedite process. If you meet the USCIS expedite criteria, request needs to be made at each step (USCIS, NVC, embassy) and request needs to be approved for the expedite process to take place.

my case is already complete at the NVC and the expedite has been approved

I called NVC today for status update of my DS3032 and AOS documentations, I told that there will be sending a check list today or tomorrow or sometime this week, because I failed to check box 34, the military service information. Ok my mistake, but they are also saying that I did not provide them with my husband Biographic page of his passaport, which I DID, and that the original Birth Certificates and Marriage Certificate are missing, which I filed with the application and wrote a letter stating so. The operator told me that once I get the email, I can ask for another review and a search for the original documents. Please help.

U should could them back and ask to speak to a sup because they did the same to me they said i didn't send the pics and after a sup reviewed the file the pics were there half of the people in the NVC don't know what the hell they are doing they think everything u send them does not cost money

my wife is talking to a supervisor who is telling her august is closed and yet NO ONE on this site in Dominican Republic has gotten an interview date? what the hell is going on? The supervisor is telling her this.

I contacted them and canceled the expedite request. I have no interest in waiting 6 weeks processing. we have been through enough processing. I will let the NVC handle it. thanks.

I called and spoke with Supervisor Sue who said she would not send our paperwork out. you have to send an email to her like you did when you created the expedite canceling the expedite. just an FYI. good luck. I have canceled ours. I dont want to go through anymore processing.

so i called the NVC and they told me that they JUST approved our expedite request and we now need to call the embassy in santo domingo I have no number for them. I am here in the US.

she told me look it up ha ha ha at usembassy.gov and she said they will be sending our paper work to the embassy in a few days. but I still have no date.... closer. Anyone have experience or know what I am to do and who to call a number?

I requested an expedite last week and they haven't even responded to that, I have never seen anything like this and than when u call them is like the blind leading the blind they have no clue what they are talking about

I am not sure if we were approved. I really didnt ask. all I know is when I called the NVC yesterday, she said your expedite request has been sent to santo domingo for a date and we are waiting on them. today they just say we are waiting on a date. they dont know.

My expedite request was because my work needs to know something as people need to schedule vacations and not wait on me. we are short staffed here.

as far as systems being updated nothing to do with the NVC it was the consulate in DR that told me that.... even though I was trying to call the embassy. the whole thing is a mess. I call the embassy who says they are the consulate who is waiting on the embassy. IF I ask the NVC they are waiting on the embassy. I am waiting on a bunch of waiting offices.

the NVC told me I could do an expedite. So I did just that last week. Now when I call the NVC says we sent your expedite request to the embassy. I call the embassy in SDO who tells me they are the consulate and we are not showing in his system. either the NVC didnt send the expedite or the embassy did not update the system showing our records. so the NVC is waiting on the embassy who is waiting on the consulate with a broken system? I dont know anything I am just a dumb gringo.

I am thinking the "expedite" will be worse than before. So will NVC stop looking for a slot for us since it was "expedited"? I called yesterday and the lady told me the expedite was sent to the "embassy"
