After being stucked for 14 months at the VSC and a RFE AND an unoffical approval letter from my local office(Boston) i finally received the official e mail "GREENCARD PRODUCTION ORDERED".Well can't wait to finally have the card in my hands.Good luck to everyone still waiting, this forum is great!!!!!

I had a RFE from VSC,it took about 6 weeks till i finally got approved, however the final approval came from my local office (Boston),not from the VSC.GOOD LUCK!!!!

My approval letter came from the Hartford, CT district office. It was pretty similar to the example posted above and I had not heard from USCIS for many months post the biometrics. The GC arrived within two weeks. Check my timeline for exact dates. I wouldn't sweat it. Do agree that the letter does not look too official on the plain white paper without any watermarks or other features.
Thanks for the info, very helpfull,i guess i should stop worrying now,and just hoping the card arrives soon.....can't wait to finally have that card in my hands!!!!!!!!

Sorry I can't offer any help or advice. I had to read the post, I've not read anything like it before. I'm sure other's have and will know what is procedure is.
Ye i think it's kind of unusual forwarding the case after RFE to the local office, maybe the plan was initially an interview, but they were satisfied with the evidence. That's all i can think of.any ideas or advice?
That was my thought, too.
I'm so paranoid now, anyone has ever heard from this before? And online the case got never changed since 12/2007 after i got biometrics done.Grrrrrrrr now 1-3 months wait for the card to arrive,so i assume now that Boston is gona forward the approval now to Vermont again.....anyways hopefully this is not a scam..lol
Gona call the info line tomorrow cuz online nothing got updated, and the approval did came from the local office!

Well after sending more evidence two weeks ago for a RFE that I received, now they sent me a notice for an interview. In the letter it says to bring my expired GC, 2 2x2 photos, my passport, a photocopy of the RFE notice and the originals for what I submitted in the RFE.
My question is, if anyone knows, will the agent interviewing me have the package that I sent for the RFE? what I mean is does Vermont mails that package to my local office in NY?It was a very big package. I ask this because they want me to bring the originals and I don't know if it's to compare with the copies that I sent or if they're going to keep the originals which I don't think they should, I don't think they should keep my originals documents from my life insurance policy for example.
Please help.
where is your interview?

Just wanted to let you guys know that my approval letter after RFE came from my local office (Boston) and not VSC.THe letter states"Your petition to remove the conditions on residence has been GRANTED.You are deemed to be a lawful permanent resident of the UNited States as of the date of your original admission of adjustment of status.Your alien registration card will be mailed to you within 1-3 months.
Letter signed by the director of the Boston field office
so now waiting for my card to arrive.
Was just wondering if this is a normal procedure as forwarding the case to the local office after RFE.
Just wante dto share this info

Awww - Guess I can still try to have it possibly earlier in the week.
Thanks for the reply!
If your appointment location is close by - you could always try to go early - most will allow walk-ins.
I have an infopass appointment on 11/28

Sorry your letter was lost. However, I am glad you received an extension of 6 months.
It'sa regular visa stamp what you normally receive at the POE,so not sure if that's okay, and i'm still very annoyed about the lost letter!
-
Hi, cutenurse. My stamp doesn't look like the one in the pfhot either. It's a stamp on which they handwrote the expiration date. I already trraveled out of the US with it and had no problem at all.
I meant "the one on the photo". Sorry, typo
HI Dara,
Does the stamp you have mentions that you're allowed to travel and work, cuz my stamp doesn;t mention that?
-
i'm so sorry about your bad experience with NOA.. can't believe that how come did he loose your NOA
but now at least you have a stamp for 6 months.. you don't need to go to USCIS office to get passport stamp
keep similing
However, the stamp he gave me doesn't look like the stamp above,it looks like a normal visa stamp written with date till may 09.What should i do now?

Hi Forum,
i haven't been here in a while cuz i was in South Africa. As upon my return i was well prepared with all my documentation at the POE at JFK.After a 20 fr flight and about 1 hr waiting for the us citizens/permanent resident line,i was expected to go for secondary inspection. It was early in the morning and a few officers were waiting as they were processing cases from a plane that just had arrivied from India,so it was very hectic and kids were crying loudly.I handed my paperwork to the immigration officer who was very friendly at that time to me,but seemed to be annoyed by the fact that kids were out of control.Afer approx. 20 mins. he looked and smiled at me and ensured me that it wouldn't be 2 much longer and about 10 mins later he called my name and said "ma'am you're rady to go,let me give me your paperwork back",referring to the extesion letter. This is when the chaos started, the extension letter was nowhere to be found, the officer admitted that he couldn't work under such a stress and with crying kids around(not my kids,i don't even have kids). He then apologized and ensured me not to worry about the extension letter he lost.At this point i wasn't happy anymore, being organized with all my paperwork so i asked kindly to please look again to find my paperwork, with an answer "Don't worry you'r ein the system, you don't need it",knowing that this letter is the only proof from my current status right now.I insisted to talk to a supervisor is i started to get annoyed now by the whole situation, trying to explain with an example as what if something happends as an emergency in my famile and i don't have the letter anymore? The officer agreed and stamped my passport for an extension for 6 months,my extension letter was gona expire next month anyways. The stamp looks like a normal visa stamp,is this what a I551 stamp looks like?

I submitted my RFE immediately to VSC about 4 weeks ago and waiting......i was prepared to get the RFE,so had it nicely ready

That's exactly what happened to me last week i went and had an infopass appointment and was hoping to get the stamp in my passport.I explained the officer that i'm leaving for South Africa in 2weeks and will be gone for 2 weeks amd my case is pending since october 2007 at Vermont. The officer didn't give me the stamp and said i was fine traveling with the expired greencard and NOA letter, even tough i insisted since my NOA is expiring in december 2007 (will be back by then)

Thanks so much AntandD for your positive inspiration as you're a blessing in this forum, and ofcourse keep you updated with my case. It's definately good if you possible expect an RFE to gather all the documents, made it much easier for me as i'll be going to the postoffic eon wednesday to send in my RFE.

Thanks so much and i think i can believe that!
