  1. Hi, guys.. Has anybody tried paying for the visa fee prior to scheduling an interview & instead of paying $240, u paid less, like $160? I'm currently here in Thailand. The post office (pay-thru-post) made me pay $160. I just realized it the day after. Almost ready to send everything to the embassy by post to get an interview date. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  2. If you have the appointment date already, I believe you don't need to send the forms back. Just make sure to take those with you during your interview date. About the DS-260 form, I'm not sure about it, too...

We are still waiting for our petition file to be acknowledged by the embassy. It was sent to a different country but I have already checked the packet3 instructions online and I'm confused about DS-260, too! Let's wait for the others who had the same experience.

  3. were on d same boat, even though my F called and sent an email to NVC...

i called once to USEM, operator told me that he cant give me any details on our case, just wait for the email...

up to now i dnt hear anything from our visa case, just wondering who will responsible for the change of transfer Case Number, is it USEM or NVC??

my F want to call but which agency he can call for more reliable response, pls need help about this matter!!! sad.png ClockWatch2.gif

That's exactly the same thing that's happening with our case... It's NVC's mistake and we can't do nothing about it... It's just so dreadful..

  4. I assume since your flag is Thailand, that your case is being transferred to Bangkok. You can contact the Bangkok consulate via email. Make sure the subject line is this: "IV Inquiry MNL2013xxxxxxx" or "IV Inquiry BNK2013xxxxxxx" I'm not sure if your case is number starts with MNL or BNK since it was sent to Manila by mistake. Send the email inquiry to both of the following addresses:

    visasbkk2@state.gov

    visasbkkiv@state.gov

They're pretty good about answering within a day or two.

I am from the Philippines but I am working here in Thailand. So in the I-129F form, the consulate where the interview will be is Bangkok, Thailand but NVC made a mistake and put Philippines instead & sent it there. I sent an email since mid of august to BKK but no response or anything from them. It starts with MNL. We just don't know who can help us on this.

  5. Are you talking about the transfer from one embassy to a different one? I have heard this can take months. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Have you called NVC to see if it has been delivered to Bangkok yet?

We called USEM Manila and we were informed that the petition file has been sent already last Sept.5 but they have no information if Bangkok has received it or not. We called NVC too and we were told the same thing and that we have to contact the embassy directly which is kind of useless since we sent them a couple of emails last month and we never got any response.

  6. Try visasbkk2@stategov.com. This email is thought to bypass the staff and go straight to the officers.

Contact by phone by buying special pin number at any Thai post office that allows a number of calls directly into the embassy I V unit. This number is supposed to be used to ask general question not those specific to a certain case. I would try in anyway.

    Thanks... we'll try this..

Aug20 petition file IN TRANSIT, case number unchanged!!!!

Aug22 petition status READY for medical exam & interview, called NVC for case number & foreign chargeability issues
Aug28 NVC emailed USEM MLA to move petition file to BKK
Sep5 READY STATUS changed to TRANSFER in progress USEM Manila- Bangkok

    CURRENT STATUS: CLUELESS!!!

  8. The MNL number was one that should have had corrected immediately at the NVC. That's the first 3 numbers for the Manila Embassy.

You have the choices as stated Hank. Either go back to the Philippines to have your interview there or call the NVC and have them reroute your package to Bangkok. You should get a new NVC case number that starts with BNK if you do the second route.

On August 19th, my petitioner called the NVC and he was given the case number. On our submitted form, I have specifically indicated that I since I am working as a teacher here in Thailand, I want my interview to be held in USEM Bangkok. However, to our surprise, my fiancé was given a Manila Case number. We informed the NVC call center representative that there was a mistake and she even confirmed that, indeed, the addresses on the submitted form is in Thailand and she made a request to have the case number changed already and advised us to call after 10days for the possible change.
When we checked the Visa Status at CEAC, it showed that the case was still at NVC, so we thought there was a good chance to make the changes right there. My fiancé called NVC again on August 20th to inquire about the progress of our case. The representative said that it was currently under review & an appropriate action will be taken once the review is completed.
Last August 22nd, when we checked CEAC website again, our case status was "READY" and the file was shipped to the Philippines already. We couldn't believe it because we called them 2 days in a row to make sure it is going to be sent to USEM BANGKOK while the file was still there. When my fiancé called NVC call center the third time, he was advised to contact the involved embassies directly. Seems to me these representatives need more training.
  9. Two choices. Contact NVC and start the process for the petition file to be moved from the Philippines to Thailand embassy. Or, fly back to the Philippines and complete the process there. The later may be annoying but more than likely quicker, I read of one other where this happened and it took months for the file to be transferred to another embassy.

F contacted NVC again today. The rep said that they will look into it and once proven that it was a mistake on NVC'spart, they will send a request to move the petition file from Philippines to USEM Thailand. For how long, I have no idea. F doesn't want me to go home yet since if in case changes will be made, it will just delay the process more.

  10. When you filled out the I-129f where did you say you wanted the interview? Do you have some type of work visa or some other type of visa to prove you are legally in Thailand? One of Pui's friends from the Philippines interviewed in Bangkok and received her visa back in 2011. She had a work permit for being in Thailand.

When we filled out I-129F form, it was stated on item#20 that I wanted Bangkok, Thailand consulate to have my interview. And also, my current address is Thailand. Yes, I am on a working visa, since I work as a teacher at a government school here in Kanchanaburi.

    What was your NVC number?

    The first 3 letters?

    MNL**********

  11. Can we schedule Medical now that we have case number. Even before it reaches the embassy. Reason is because Vika and her son are visiting her either in Kiev and would be simple to get this taken care of now while he is with her so he will not have to come back Ina couple weeks. Thanks for any insights.

It varies.. In the Philippines, as soon as u have the case number, you can go for a medical already.. Try calling the consulate office if they allow it..

Our visa status just changed to "In Transit".

NVC received our package yesterday (8-19-2013) and assigned a case number that i got this morning. Hopefully will ship out soon. Someone has a way of tracking it via dhl but I can't find that info. Anyone have that info and care to share it? Thanks.

that was fast! our package was shipped from USCIS aug 13th, received by nvc aug 16th, got our case number aug 19th. but we have a problem, we were given MANILA, PHILIPPINES case number instead of Bangkok, Thailand case number.Apparently, it's a mistake on their part since we specified on our I129F form that I wanted to have my inteview here in Bangkok... We are now advised to wait for 10days for change of case number.
